1. നിങ്ങളില് ഒരുത്തന്നു മറ്റൊരുത്തനോടു ഒരു കാര്യ്യം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അല്ല, അഭക്തന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് വ്യവഹാരത്തിന്നു പോകുവാന് തുനിയുന്നുവോ?

1. DOES ANY of you dare, when he has a matter of complaint against another [brother], to go to law before unrighteous men [men neither upright nor right with God, laying it before them] instead of before the saints (the people of God)?

2. വിശുദ്ധന്മാര് ലോകത്തെ വിധിക്കും എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ലോകത്തെ നിങ്ങള് വിധിക്കുമെങ്കില് ഏറ്റവും ചെറിയ സംഗതികളെ വിധിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് അയോഗ്യരോ?

2. Do you not know that the saints (the believers) will [one day] judge and govern the world? And if the world [itself] is to be judged and ruled by you, are you unworthy and incompetent to try [such petty matters] of the smallest courts of justice?

3. നാം ദൂതന്മാരെ വിധിക്കും എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഐഹികകാര്യ്യങ്ങളെ എത്ര അധികം?

3. Do you not know also that we [Christians] are to judge the [very] angels and pronounce opinion between right and wrong [for them]? How much more then [as to] matters pertaining to this world and of this life only!

4. എന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഐഹികകാര്യ്യങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടെങ്കില് വിധിപ്പാന് സഭ ഗണ്യമാക്കാത്തവരെ ഇരുത്തുന്നുവോ?

4. If then you do have such cases of everyday life to decide, why do you appoint [as judges to lay them before] those who [from the standpoint] of the church count for least and are without standing?

5. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ലജ്ജെക്കായി ഞാന് ചോദിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും മദ്ധ്യേ കാര്യ്യം തീര്പ്പാന് പ്രാപ്തിയുള്ളോരു ജ്ഞാനിയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഇല്ലയോ?

5. I say this to move you to shame. Can it be that there really is not one man among you who [in action is governed by piety and integrity and] is wise and competent enough to decide [the private grievances, disputes, and quarrels] between members of the brotherhood,

6. അല്ല, സഹോദരന് സഹോദരനോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുന്നു; അതും അവിശ്വാസികളുടെ മുമ്പില് തന്നേ.

6. But brother goes to law against brother, and that before [Gentile judges who are] unbelievers [without faith or trust in the Gospel of Christ]?

7. നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തമ്മില് വ്യവഹാരം ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതു തന്നേ കേവലം പോരായ്മയാകുന്നു; അതിന്നു പകരം നിങ്ങള് അന്യായം സഹിച്ചുകൊള്ളാത്തതു എന്തു? നഷ്ടം ഏറ്റുകൊള്ളാത്തതു എന്തു?

7. Why, the very fact of your having lawsuits with one another at all is a defect (a defeat, an evidence of positive moral loss for you). Why not rather let yourselves suffer wrong and be deprived of what is your due? Why not rather be cheated (defrauded and robbed)?

8. അല്ല, നിങ്ങള് അന്യായം ചെയ്കയും നഷ്ടം വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അതും സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും തന്നേ.

8. But [instead it is you] yourselves who wrong and defraud, and that even your own brethren [by so treating them]!

9. അന്യായം ചെയ്യുന്നവര് ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വഞ്ചിക്കാതിരിപ്പിന് ; ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുകാര്, വിഗ്രഹാരാധികള്, വ്യഭിചാരികള്, സ്വയഭോഗികള്, പുരുഷകാമികള്,

9. Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10. കള്ളന്മാര്, അത്യാഗ്രഹികള്, മദ്യപന്മാര്, വാവിഷ്ഠാണക്കാര്, പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാര് എന്നിവര് ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല.

10. Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

11. നിങ്ങളും ചിലര് ഈ വകക്കാരായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങള് കര്ത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിലും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനാലും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കഴുകി ശുദ്ധീകരണവും നീതീകരണവും പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

12. സകലത്തിന്നും എനിക്കു കര്ത്തവ്യം ഉണ്ടു എങ്കിലും സകലവും പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതല്ല; സകലത്തിന്നും എനിക്കു കര്ത്തവ്യം ഉണ്ടു എങ്കിലും ഞാന് യാതൊന്നിന്നും അധീനനാകയില്ല.

12. Everything is permissible (allowable and lawful) for me; but not all things are helpful (good for me to do, expedient and profitable when considered with other things). Everything is lawful for me, but I will not become the slave of anything or be brought under its power.

13. ഭോജ്യങ്ങള് വയറ്റിന്നും വയറു ഭോജ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉള്ളതു; എന്നാല് ദൈവം ഇതിനെയും അതിനെയും ഇല്ലായ്മയാക്കും. ശരീരമോ ദുര്ന്നടപ്പിന്നല്ല കര്ത്താവിന്നത്രേ; കര്ത്താവു ശരീരത്തിന്നും.

13. Food [is intended] for the stomach and the stomach for food, but God will finally end [the functions of] both and bring them to nothing. The body is not intended for sexual immorality, but [is intended] for the Lord, and the Lord [is intended] for the body [to save, sanctify, and raise it again].

14. എന്നാല് ദൈവം കര്ത്താവിനെ ഉയിര്പ്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നമ്മെയും തന്റെ ശക്തിയാല് ഉയിര്പ്പിക്കും.

14. And God both raised the Lord to life and will also raise us up by His power.

15. നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങള് ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങള് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അവയവങ്ങളെ ഞാന് എടുത്തു വേശ്യയുടെ അവയവങ്ങള് ആക്കാമോ? ഒരുനാളും അരുതു.

15. Do you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts) of Christ (the Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and make [them] parts of a prostitute? Never! Never!

16. വേശ്യയോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരുന്നവന് അവളുമായി ഏകശരീരമാകുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇരുവരും ഒരു ദേഹമായിത്തീരും എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

16. Or do you not know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one flesh. [Gen. 2:24.]

17. കര്ത്താവിനോടു പറ്റിച്ചേരുന്നവനോ അവനുമായി ഏകാത്മാവു ആകുന്നു.

17. But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.

18. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പു വിട്ടു ഔടുവിന് . മനുഷ്യന് ചെയ്യുന്ന ഏതു പാപവും ശരീരത്തിന്നു പുറത്താകുന്നു. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുകാരനോ സ്വന്തശരീരത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി പാപം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
യിരേമ്യാവു 31:9

18. Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാനമായി നിങ്ങളില് ഇരിക്കുന്ന പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിന്റെ മന്ദിരമാകുന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരം എന്നും നിങ്ങളെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയിരിക്കയാല് നിങ്ങള് താന്താങ്ങള്ക്കുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

19. Do you not know that your body is the temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you, Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,

20. അകയാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരംകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുവിന് .

20. You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your body.
