1. മോശെ എല്ലായിസ്രയേലിനെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്യഹോവ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ ഫറവോനോടും അവന്റെ സകലഭൃത്യന്മാരോടും അവന്റെ സര്വ്വദേശത്തോടും ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടുവല്ലോ;

1. These {are} the words of the covenant which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.

2. നിങ്ങള് കണ്ണാലെ കണ്ട വലിയ പരീക്ഷകളും അടയാളങ്ങളും മഹാത്ഭുതങ്ങളും തന്നേ.

2. And Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;

3. എങ്കിലും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്ന ഹൃദയവും കാണുന്ന കണ്ണും കേള്ക്കുന്ന ചെവിയും യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഇന്നുവരെയും തന്നിട്ടില്ല.

3. The great temptations which thy eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:

4. ഞാന് നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം നിങ്ങളെ മരുഭൂമിയില് നടത്തി; നിങ്ങള് ഉടുത്തിരുന്ന വസ്ത്രം ജീര്ണ്ണിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; കാലിലെ ചെരിപ്പു പഴകീട്ടുമില്ല.

4. Yet the LORD hath not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.

5. യഹോവയായ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവം എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് അപ്പം തിന്നിട്ടില്ല, വീഞ്ഞും മദ്യവും കുടിച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

5. And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes have not become old upon you, and thy shoe hath not become old upon thy foot.

6. നിങ്ങള് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് ഹെശ്ബോന് രാജാവായ സീഹോനും ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗും നമ്മുടെ നേരെ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നു.

6. Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drank wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I {am} the LORD your God.

7. എന്നാറെ നാം അവരെ തോല്പിച്ചു, അവരുടെ രാജ്യം പിടിച്ചു രൂബേന്യര്ക്കും ഗാദ്യര്ക്കും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തിന്നും അവകാശമായി കൊടുത്തു.

7. And when ye came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle, and we smote them:

8. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും സാധിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടപ്പിന് .

8. And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh.

9. ഇന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗോത്രത്തലവന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും യിസ്രായേല്പുരുഷന്മാരൊക്കെയും തന്നേ.

9. Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

10. നിങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്, ഭാര്യമാര്, നിന്റെ പാളയത്തില് വിറകു കീറുകയും വെള്ളം കോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന പരദേശി എന്നിങ്ങനെ എല്ലാവരും

10. Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, {with} all the men of Israel,

11. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെയും അബ്രാഹാം, യിസ്ഹാക്, യാക്കോബ് എന്ന നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു അവന് സത്യംചെയ്തതുപോലെയും ഇന്നു നിന്നെ തനിക്കു ജനമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും താന് നിനക്കു ദൈവമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

11. Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that {is} in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood to the drawer of thy water:

12. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യുന്ന നിയമത്തിലും സത്യബന്ധത്തിലും പ്രവേശിപ്പാന് അവന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്നു.

12. That thou shouldst enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:

13. ഞാന് ഈ നിയമവും സത്യബന്ധവും ചെയ്യുന്നതു നിങ്ങളോടു മാത്രമല്ല,

13. That he may establish thee to-day for a people to himself, and {that} he may be to thee a God, as he hath said to thee, and as he hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

14. ഇന്നു നമ്മോടുകൂടെ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിലക്കുന്നവരോടും ഇന്നു ഇവിടെ നമ്മോടു കൂടെ ഇല്ലാത്തവരോടും തന്നേ.

14. Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;

15. നാം മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എങ്ങനെ പാര്ത്തു എന്നും നിങ്ങള് കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ജാതികളുടെ നടുവില്കൂടി എങ്ങനെ കടന്നു എന്നും നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

15. But with {him} that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with {him} that {is} not here with us this day:

16. അവരുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛതകളും അവരുടെ ഇടയില് മരവും കല്ലും വെള്ളിയും പൊന്നും കൊണ്ടുള്ള വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള് കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു.

16. (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;

17. ആ ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരെ ചെന്നു സേവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇന്നു നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വിട്ടുമാറുവാന് മനസ്സുള്ള യാതൊരു പുരുഷനും സ്ത്രീയും യാതൊരു കുലവും ഗോത്രവും നിങ്ങളില് ഉണ്ടാകരുതു; നഞ്ചും കൈപ്പുമുള്ള ഫലം കായക്കുന്ന യാതൊരുവേരും അരുതു.

17. And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which {were} among them:)

18. അങ്ങനെയുള്ളവന് ഈ ശാപവചനങ്ങളെ കേള്ക്കുമ്പോള്വരണ്ടതും നനവുള്ളതും ഒരുപോലെ നശിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ കാഠിന്യപ്രകാരം നടന്നാലും എനിക്കു സുഖം ഉണ്ടാകുമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് തന്നെത്താന് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

18. Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go {and} serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

19. അവനോടു ക്ഷമിപ്പാന് യഹോവേക്കു മനസ്സുവരാതെ യഹോവയുടെ കോപവും തീക്ഷ്ണതയും ആ മനുഷ്യന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; ഈ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന ശാപം ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ മേല് വരും; യഹോവ ആകാശത്തിന് കീഴില് നിന്നു അവന്റെ നാമം മായിച്ചുകളയും.

19. And it should come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:

20. ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണപുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന നിയമത്തിലെ സകലശാപങ്ങള്ക്കും തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ സകലഗോത്രങ്ങളില്നിന്നും അവനെ ദോഷത്തിന്നായി വേറുതിരിക്കും.

20. The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

21. നിങ്ങളുടെ ശേഷം ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന തലമുറയായ നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കളും ദൂരദേശത്തുനിന്നു വരുന്ന അന്യനും ദേശത്തിലെ ബാധകളും യഹോവ അവിടെ വരുത്തിയ രോഗങ്ങളും

21. And the LORD shall separate him to evil out of all the tribes of Israel according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:

22. യഹോവ തന്റെ കോപത്തിലും ക്രോധത്തിലും സോദോം, ഗൊമോര, അദമ, സെബോയീം എന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളെ മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതുപോലെ വിതയും വിളവും ഇല്ലാതെയും പുല്ലുപോലും മുളെക്കാതെയും ഗന്ധകവും ഉപ്പും കത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശമൊക്കെയും കാണുമ്പോള്

22. So that the generation to come of your children that shall arise after you, and the stranger that shall come from a distant land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;

23. യഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തതു എന്തു? ഈ മഹാക്രോധാഗ്നിയുടെ കാരണം എന്തു എന്നു സകലജാതികളും ചോദിക്കും.

23. {And that} the whole land of it is brimstone, and salt, {and} burning, {that} it is not sown, nor doth it bear, nor doth any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger and in his wrath:

24. അതിന്നുണ്ടാകുന്ന മറുപടി എന്തെന്നാല്അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചപ്പോള് അവരോടു ചെയ്തിരുന്ന നിയമം അവര് ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു;

24. Even all the nations shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus to this land? what {meaneth} the heat of this great anger?

25. തങ്ങള് അറികയോ തങ്ങള്ക്കു നിയമിച്ചുകിട്ടുകയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ അവര് ചെന്നു സേവിക്കയും നമസ്കരിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

25. Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth from the land of Egypt:

26. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഈ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന ശാപം ഒക്കെയും ഈ ദേശത്തിന്മേല് വരുത്തുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം അതിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിച്ചു.

26. For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods which they knew not, and which he had not given to them:

27. യഹോവ കോപത്തോടും ക്രോധത്തോടും വലിയ വെറുപ്പോടുംകൂടെ അവരെ അവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു പറിച്ചുകളകയും ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ അവരെ മറ്റൊരു ദേശത്തേക്കു തള്ളിവിടുകയും ചെയ്തു.

27. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:

28. മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കുള്ളവയത്രേ; വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവയോ നാം ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്റെ സകലവചനങ്ങളും അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നേക്കും നമുക്കും നമ്മുടെ മക്കള്ക്കും ഉള്ളവയാകുന്നു.

28. And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as {it is} this day.
