1. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെയും നമ്മുടെ പ്രത്യാശയായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെയും കല്പനപ്രകാരം ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്റെ

1. From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

2. അപ്പൊസ്തലനായ പൌലൊസ് വിശ്വാസത്തില് നിജപുത്രനായ തിമൊഥെയൊസിന്നു എഴുതുന്നതുപിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കല് നിന്നും നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിങ്കല് നിനക്കു കൃപയും കനിവും സമാധാനവും ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ

2. to Timothy, my genuine child in the faith. Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord!

3. അന്യഥാ ഉപദേശിക്കരുതെന്നും വിശ്വാസം എന്ന ദൈവവ്യവസ്ഥെക്കല്ല തര്ക്കങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രം ഉതകുന്ന കെട്ടുകഥകളെയും അന്തമില്ലാത്ത വംശാവലികളെയും ശ്രദ്ധികരുതെന്നും ചിലരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

3. As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to spread false teachings,

4. നീ എഫെസൊസില് താമസിക്കേണം എന്നു ഞാന് മക്കെദൊന്യെക്കു പോകുമ്പോള് അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ ഇപ്പോഴും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

4. nor to occupy themselves with myths and interminable genealogies. Such things promote useless speculations rather than God's redemptive plan that operates by faith.

5. ആജ്ഞയുടെ ഉദ്ദേശമോശുദ്ധഹൃദയം, നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷി, നിര്വ്യാജവിശ്വാസം എന്നിവയാല് ഉളവാകുന്ന സ്നേഹം തന്നേ.

5. But the aim of our instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith.

6. ചിലര് ഇവ വിട്ടുമാറി വൃഥാവാദത്തിലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു

6. Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.

7. ധര്മ്മോപദേഷ്ടക്കന്മാരായിരിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു; തങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നും സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതു ഇന്നതു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലതാനും.

7. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand what they are saying or the things they insist on so confidently.

8. ന്യായപ്രമാണമോ നീതിമാന്നല്ല, അധര്മ്മികള്, അഭക്തര്, അനുസരണംകെട്ടവര്, പാപികള്, അശുദ്ധര്, ബാഹ്യന്മാര്, പിതൃഹന്താക്കള്, മാതൃഹന്താക്കള്, കുലപാതകര്,

8. But we know that the law is good if someone uses it legitimately,

9. ദുര്ന്നടപ്പുക്കാര്, പുരുഷമൈഥുനക്കാര്, നരമോഷ്ടാക്കള്, ഭോഷകുപറയുന്നവര്, കള്ളസത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവര് എന്നീ വകക്കാര്ക്കും പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്തിന്നു

9. realizing that law is not intended for a righteous person, but for lawless and rebellious people, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

10. വിപരീതമായ മറ്റു ഏതിന്നും അത്രേ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അതിനെ ന്യായോചിതമായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചാല് ന്യായപ്രമാണം നല്ലതു തന്നേ എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നു.

10. sexually immoral people, practicing homosexuals, kidnappers, liars, perjurers in fact, for any who live contrary to sound teaching.

11. ഈ പരിജ്ഞാനം, എങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതായി ധന്യനായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള സുവിശേഷത്തിന്നു അനുസാരമായതു തന്നേ.

11. This accords with the glorious gospel of the blessed God that was entrusted to me.

12. എനിക്കു ശക്തി നല്കിയ ക്രിസ്തുയേശു എന്ന നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ വിശ്വസ്തന് എന്നു എണ്ണി ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു ആക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവനെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

12. I am grateful to the one who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful in putting me into ministry,

13. മുമ്പെ ഞാന് ദൂഷകനും ഉപദ്രവിയും നിഷ്ഠൂരനും ആയിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവിശ്വാസത്തില് അറിയാതെ ചെയ്തതാകകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു കരുണ ലഭിച്ചു.

13. even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,

14. നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കൃപ ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിലുള്ള വിശ്വാസത്തോടും സ്നേഹത്തോടുംകൂടെ അത്യന്തം വര്ദ്ധിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. and our Lord's grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus.

15. ക്രിസ്തുയേശു പാപികളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ലോകത്തില് വന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു വിശ്വാസ്യവും എല്ലാവരും അംഗീകരിപ്പാന് യോഗ്യവുമായ വചനം തന്നേ; ആ പാപികളില് ഞാന് ഒന്നാമന് .

15. This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: 'Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners' and I am the worst of them!

16. എന്നിട്ടും യേശുക്രിസ്തു നിത്യ ജീവന്നായിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നില് വിശ്വസിപ്പാനുള്ളവര്ക്കും ദൃഷ്ടാന്തത്തിന്നായി സകല ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയും ഒന്നാമനായ എന്നില് കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു കരുണ ലഭിച്ചു.

16. But here is why I was treated with mercy: so that in me as the worst, Christ Jesus could demonstrate his utmost patience, as an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.

17. നിത്യരാജാവായി അക്ഷയനും അദൃശ്യനുമായ ഏകദൈവത്തിന്നു എന്നെന്നേക്കും ബഹുമാനവും മഹത്വവും. ആമേന് .

17. Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

18. മകനേ, തിമൊഥെയൊസേ, നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു മുമ്പുണ്ടായ പ്രവചനങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം ഞാന് ഈ ആജ്ഞ നിനക്കു ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു; നീ വിശ്വാസവും നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷിയും ഉള്ളവനായി അവയെ അനസരിച്ചു നല്ല യുദ്ധസേവ ചെയ്ക.

18. I put this charge before you, Timothy my child, in keeping with the prophecies once spoken about you, in order that with such encouragement you may fight the good fight.

19. To do this you must hold firmly to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith.

20. ഹുമനയൊസും അലെക്സന്തരും ഈ കൂട്ടത്തില് ഉള്ളവര് ആകുന്നു; അവര് ദൂഷണം പറയാതിരിപ്പന് പഠിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് അവരെ സാത്താനെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

20. Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.
