1. എന്നാല് ഭാവികാലത്തു ചിലര് വ്യാജാത്മാക്കളെയും ഭൂതങ്ങളുടെ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെയും ആശ്രയിച്ചു ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നവരുടെ കപടത്താല് വിശ്വാസം ത്യജിക്കും എന്നു ആത്മാവു തെളിവായി പറയുന്നു.

1. But the spirit seith opynli, that in the laste tymes summen schulen departe fro the feith, yyuynge tent to spiritis of errour, and to techingis of deuelis;

2. അവര് സ്വന്തമനസ്സാക്ഷിയില് ചൂടുവെച്ചവരായി

2. that speken leesing in ipocrisie, and haue her conscience corrupt,

3. വിവാഹം വിലക്കുകയും സത്യത്തെ ഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസികള് സ്തോത്രത്തോടെ അനുഭവിപ്പാന് ദൈവം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച ഭോജ്യങ്ങളെ വര്ജ്ജിക്കേണം എന്നു കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

3. forbedinge to be weddid, to absteyne fro metis, whiche God made to take with doyng of thankingis, to feithful men, and hem that han knowe the treuthe.

4. എന്നാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സൃഷ്ടി എല്ലാം നല്ലതു; സ്തോത്രത്തോടെ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ഒന്നും വര്ജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടതല്ല;

4. For ech creature of God is good, and no thing is to be cast awei, which is takun with doyng of thankyngis;

5. ദൈവവചനത്താലും പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയാലും വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നുവല്ലോ.

5. for it is halewid bi the word of God, and bi preyer.

6. ഇതു സഹോദരന്മാരേ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിച്ചാല് നീ അനുസരിച്ച വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെയും സദുപദേശത്തിന്റെയും വചനത്താല് പോഷണം ലഭിച്ചു ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിന്നു നല്ല ശുശ്രൂഷകന് ആകും.

6. Thou puttynge forth these thingis to britheren, schalt be a good mynystre of Crist Jhesu; nurschid with wordis of feith and of good doctryne, which thou hast gete.

7. ഭക്തി വിരുദ്ധമായ കിഴവിക്കഥകളെ ഒഴിച്ചു ദൈവഭക്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം അഭ്യാസം ചെയ്ക.

7. But eschewe thou vncouenable fablis, and elde wymmenus fablis; haunte thi silf to pitee.

8. ശരീരാഭ്യാസം അല്പപ്രയോജനമുള്ളതത്രേ; ദൈവഭക്തിയോ ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ജീവന്റെയും വരുവാനിരിക്കുന്നതിന്റെയും വാഗ്ദത്തമുള്ളതാകയാല് സകലത്തിന്നും പ്രയോജനകരമാകുന്നു.

8. For bodili exercitation is profitable to litle thing; but pitee is profitable to alle thingis, that hath a biheest of lijf that now is, and that is to come.

9. ഇതു വിശ്വാസ്യവും എല്ലാവരും അംഗീകരിപ്പാന് യോഗ്യവുമായ വചനം.

9. A trewe word, and worthi al acceptacioun.

10. അതിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ നാം സകലമനുഷ്യരുടെയും പ്രത്യേകം വിശ്വസികളുടെയും രക്ഷിതാവായ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തില് ആശവെച്ചു അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചും പോരാടിയും വരുന്നു.

10. And in this thing we trauelen, and ben cursid, for we hopen in lyuyng God, that is sauyour of alle men, moost of feithful men.

11. ഇതു നീ ആജ്ഞാപിക്കയും ഉപദേശിക്കയും ചെയ്ക.

11. Comaunde thou this thing, and teche.

12. ആരും നിന്റെ യൌവനം തുച്ഛീകരിക്കരുതു; വാക്കിലും നടപ്പിലും സ്നേഹത്തിലും വിശ്വാസത്തിലും നിര്മ്മലതയിലും വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കു മാതൃകയായിരിക്ക.

12. No man dispise thi yongthe, but be thou ensaumple of feithful men in word, in lyuyng, in charite, in feith, in chastite.

13. ഞാന് വരുവോളം വായന, പ്രബോധനം, ഉപദേശം എന്നിവയില് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചരിക്ക.

13. Tyl Y come, take tent to redyng, to exortacioun and teching.

14. മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ കൈവെപ്പോടുകൂടെ പ്രവചനത്താല് നിനക്കു ലഭിച്ചതായി നിന്നിലുള്ള കൃപാവരം ഉപേക്ഷയായി വിചാരിക്കാതെ

14. Nyle thou litil charge the grace which is in thee, that is youun to thee bi profecie, with putting on of the hondis of preesthod.

15. നിന്റെ അഭിവൃദ്ധി എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രസിദ്ധമായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഇതു കരുതുക, ഇതില് തന്നെ ഇരുന്നുകൊള്ക.

15. Thenke thou these thingis, in these be thou, that thi profiting be schewid to alle men.

16. നിന്നെത്തന്നേയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക; ഇതില് ഉറെച്ചുനില്ക്ക; അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്താല് നീ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേള്ക്കുന്നവരെയും രക്ഷിക്കും.

16. Take tent to thi silf and to doctryn; be bisi in hem. For thou doynge these thingis, schalt `make bothe thi silf saaf, and hem that heren thee.
