1. യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെയുടെ മരണശേഷം യഹോവ നൂന്റെ മകനായി മോശെയുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനായ യോശുവയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

1. And it happened after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,

2. എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ മരിച്ചു; ആകയാല് നീയും ഈ ജനമൊക്കെയും പുറപ്പെട്ടു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ ഞാന് യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു കടന്നുപോകുവിന് .

2. My servant Moses is dead. Now, therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people to the land which I give to them, to the sons of Israel.

3. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഉള്ളങ്കാല് ചവിട്ടുന്ന സ്ഥലമൊക്കെയും ഞാന് മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, I have given that to you, as I said to Moses.

4. മരുഭൂമിയും ഈ ലെബാനോനും തുടങ്ങി ഫ്രാത്ത് എന്ന മഹാനദിവരെയും ഹിത്യരുടെ ദേശം ഒക്കെയും പടിഞ്ഞാറു മഹാസമുദ്രംവരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അതിരായിരിക്കും.

4. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

5. നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തു ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിന്റെ നേരെ നില്ക്കയില്ല; ഞാന് മോശെയോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതു പോലെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയും ഇരിക്കും; ഞാന് നിന്നെ കൈ വിടുകയില്ല, ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

5. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

6. ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവനായിരിക്ക; ഞാന് അവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്ത ദേശം നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു അവകാശമായി വിഭാഗിക്കും.

6. Be strong and of good courage. For you shall divide for an inheritance to this people, the land which I swore to their fathers, to give it to them.

7. എന്റെ ദാസനായ മോശെ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ന്യായപ്രമാണമൊക്കെയും അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നല്ല ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവും ഉള്ളവനായി മാത്രം ഇരിക്ക; ചെല്ലുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നീ ശുഭമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു വിട്ടു ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറരുതു.

7. Only be strong and very courageous so that you may be careful to do according to all the Law which My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may act wisely wherever you go.

8. ഈ ന്യായപ്രാമണപുസ്തകത്തിലുള്ളതു നിന്റെ വായില്നിന്നു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു; അതില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചുനടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ രാവും പകലും അതു ധ്യാനിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കേണം; എന്നാല് നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി സാധിക്കും; നീ കൃതാര്ത്ഥനായും ഇരിക്കും.

8. This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall act wisely.

9. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നീ പോകുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവുമുള്ളവനായിരിക്ക; ഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ഭ്രമിക്കയും അരുതു എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചുവല്ലോ.

9. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid, neither be dismayed. For Jehovah your God is with you in all places where you go.

10. എന്നാറെ യോശുവ ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രമാണികളോടു കല്പിച്ചതു

10. Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people saying,

11. പാളയത്തില് കൂടി കടന്നു ജനത്തോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു അവകാശമായി തരുന്ന ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കുവാന് ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ കടക്കേണ്ടതാകയാല് ഭക്ഷണസാധനം ഒരുക്കിക്കൊള്വിന് എന്നു കല്പിപ്പിന് .

11. Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare food for yourselves, for within three days you are crossing over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving you to possess it.

12. പിന്നെ യോശുവ രൂബേന്യരോടും ഗാദ്യരോടും മനശ്ശെയുടെ പാതിഗോത്രത്തോടും പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്

12. And Joshua spoke to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to the half tribe of Manasseh, saying:

13. യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ നിങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ച വചനം ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്വിന് ; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കി ഈ ദേശവും തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. Remember the word which Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you saying, Jehovah your God has given you rest and has given you this land.

14. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും കുഞ്ഞുകുട്ടികളും നിങ്ങളുടെ കന്നുകാലികളും യോര്ദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ മോശെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള ദേശത്തിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളില് യുദ്ധപ്രാപ്തന്മാരായവര് ഒക്കെയും സന്നദ്ധരായി നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും മുമ്പായി കടന്നുചെന്നു

14. Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side Jordan. But you shall go armed before your brothers, all the mighty men of valor, and help them

15. യഹോവ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാര്ക്കും സ്വസ്ഥത നലകുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ അവര്ക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്ന ദേശം അവര് കൈവശമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുവോളം അവരെ സഹായിക്കേണം; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം നിങ്ങള് യഹോവയുടെ ദാസനായ മോശെ കിഴക്കു യോര്ദ്ദാന്നിക്കരെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നിട്ടുള്ള അവകാശദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങി വന്നു അതിനെ അനുഭവിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം.

15. until Jehovah has given your brothers rest, even as you, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God gives them; and you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses Jehovah's servant gave you on this side Jordan, towards the sunrise.

16. അവര് യോശുവയോടുനീ ഞങ്ങളോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള് ചെയ്യും; ഞങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും ഞങ്ങള് പോകും.

16. And they answered Joshua, saying: We will do all that you command us, and wherever you send us we will go.

17. ഞങ്ങള് മോശെയെ സകലത്തിലും അനുസരിച്ചതുപോലെ നിന്നെയും അനുസരിക്കും; നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ മോശെയോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെയും ഇരുന്നാല് മതി.

17. Just as we listened to Moses in all things, so we will listen to you. Only may Jehovah your God be with you as He was with Moses.

18. ആരെങ്കിലും നിന്റെ കല്പന മറുക്കയും നീ കല്പിക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നിലും നിന്റെ വാക്കു അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് അവന് മരിക്കേണം; ഉറപ്പും ധൈര്യവുമുള്ളവനായി മാത്രംഇരുന്നാലും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

18. Whoever rebels against your command and will not listen to your words in all that you command him, he shall be put to death. Only be strong and of a good courage.
