1. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയവും രാജധാനിയും മറ്റും തനിക്കു ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് മനസ്സും താല്പര്യവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും ശലോമോന് പണിതു തീര്ന്നശേഷം

1. The LORD's temple and Solomon's palace were now finished, and Solomon had built everything he wanted.

2. യഹോവ ഗിബെയോനില്വെച്ചു ശലോമോന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായതുപോലെ രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യവും അവന്നു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി.

2. Some time later the LORD appeared to him again in a dream, just as he had done at Gibeon.

3. യഹോവ അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്നീ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയും യാചനയും ഞാന് കേട്ടു; നീ പണിതിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയത്തെ എന്റെ നാമം അതില് എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥാപിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ കണ്ണും ഹൃദയവും എല്ലായ്പോഴും അവിടെ ഇരിക്കും.

3. The LORD said: I heard your prayer and what you asked me to do. This temple you have built is where I will be worshiped forever. It belongs to me, and I will never stop watching over it.

4. ഞാന് നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ചെയ്വാന് തക്കവണ്ണം എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഹൃദയനിര്മ്മലതയോടും പരമാര്ത്ഥതയോടും കൂടെ നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് നടന്നതുപോലെ നടക്കുകയും എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും

4. You must obey me, as your father David did, and be honest and fair. Obey my laws and teachings,

5. വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താല് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തില് ഇരിപ്പാന് ഒരു പുരുഷന് നിനക്കു ഇല്ലാതെപോകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ യിസ്രായേലിലുള്ള നിന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം ഞാന് എന്നേക്കും സ്ഥിരമാക്കും.

5. and I will keep my promise to David that someone from your family will always be king of Israel.

6. നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പുത്രന്മാരോ എന്നെ വിട്ടുമാറി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിക്കാതെ ചെന്നു അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിച്ചാല്

6. But if you or any of your descendants disobey my commands or start worshiping foreign gods,

7. ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അവരെ പറിച്ചുകളയും; എന്റെ നാമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ ആലയവും ഞാന് എന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; യിസ്രായേല് സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയില് പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവും ആയിരിക്കും.

7. I will no longer let my people Israel live in this land I gave them. I will desert this temple where I said I would be worshiped. Then people everywhere will think this nation is only a joke and will make fun of it.

8. ഈ ആലയം എത്ര ഉന്നതമായിരുന്നാലും കടന്നുപോകുന്ന ഏവനും അതിനെ കണ്ടു സ്തംഭിച്ചു ചൂളകുത്തിയഹോവ ഈ ദേശത്തിന്നും ഈ ആലയത്തിന്നും ഇങ്ങനെ വരുത്തിയതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിക്കും.

8. This temple will become a pile of rocks! Everyone who walks by will be shocked, and they will ask, 'Why did the LORD do such a terrible thing to his people and to this temple?'

9. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു നിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കയും അന്യദൈവങ്ങളോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു സേവിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ ഈ അനര്ത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും അവര്ക്കും വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അതിന്നു ഉത്തരം പറയും.

9. Then they will answer, 'We know why the LORD did this. The people of Israel rejected the LORD their God, who rescued their ancestors from Egypt, and they started worshiping other gods.'

10. ശലോമോന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം, രാജധാനി എന്നീ രണ്ടു ഭവനവും ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരംകൊണ്ടു പണിതശേഷം

10. It took twenty years for the LORD's temple and Solomon's palace to be built.

11. സോര്രാജാവായ ഹീരാം ശലോമോന്നു അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ഒക്കെയും ദേവദാരുവും സരളമരവും സ്വര്ണ്ണവും കൊടുത്തിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഹീരാമിന്നു ഗലീലദേശത്തു ഇരുപതു പട്ടണം കൊടുത്തു.

11. Later, Solomon gave King Hiram of Tyre twenty towns in the region of Galilee to repay him for the cedar, pine, and gold he had given Solomon.

12. ശലോമോന് ഹീരാമിന്നു കൊടുത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങളെ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് സോരില്നിന്നു വന്നു; എന്നാല് അവ അവന്നു ബോധിച്ചില്ല, സഹോദരാ,

12. When Hiram went to see the towns, he did not like them.

13. നീ എനിക്കു തന്ന ഈ പട്ടണങ്ങള് എന്തു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. അവേക്കു ഇന്നുവരെയും കാബൂല്ദേശം എന്നു പേരായിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. He said, 'Solomon, my friend, are these the kind of towns you want to give me?' So Hiram called the region Cabul because he thought it was worthless.

14. ഹീരാമോ രാജാവിന്നു നൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്തു പൊന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

14. He sent Solomon only five tons of gold in return.

15. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം, അരമന, മില്ലോ, യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മതില്, ഹാസോര്, മെഗിദ്ദോ, ഗേസെര് എന്നിവ പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഊഴിയവേല ചെയ്യിച്ച വിവരം

15. After Solomon's workers had finished the temple and the palace, he ordered them to fill in the land on the east side of Jerusalem, to build a wall around the city, and to rebuild the towns of Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

16. മിസ്രയീംരാജാവായ ഫറവോന് ചെന്നു, ഗേസെര് പിടിച്ചു തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു, അതില് പാര്ത്തിരുന്ന കനാന്യരെ കൊന്നു, അതിനെ ശലോമോന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ തന്റെ മകള്ക്കു സ്ത്രീധനമായി കൊടുത്തിരുന്നു.

16. Earlier, the king of Egypt had captured the town of Gezer; he burned it to the ground and killed the Canaanite people living there. Then he gave it to his daughter as a wedding present when she married Solomon.

17. So Solomon had the town rebuilt. Solomon had his workers rebuild Lower Beth-Horon,

18. താഴത്തെ ബേത്ത്-ഹോരോനും ബാലാത്തും ദേശത്തിലെ മരുഭൂമിയിലുള്ള

18. Baalath, and Tamar in the desert of Judah.

19. തദ്മോരും ശലോമോന്നു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന സകലസംഭാരനഗരങ്ങളും രഥനഗരങ്ങളും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കുംള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും ശലോമോന് യെരൂശലേമിലും ലെബാനോനിലും തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തില് എല്ലാടവും പണിവാന് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചതൊക്കെയും പണിതു

19. They also built towns where he could keep his supplies and his chariots and horses. Solomon had them build whatever he wanted in Jerusalem, Lebanon, and anywhere in his kingdom.

20. അമോര്യര്, ഹിത്യര്, പെരിസ്യര്, ഹിവ്യര്, യെബൂസ്യര് എന്നിങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് ഉള്പ്പെടാത്ത ശേഷിപ്പുള്ള സകലജാതിയെയും

20. Solomon did not force the Israelites to do his work. They were his soldiers, officials, leaders, commanders, chariot captains, and chariot drivers. But he did make slaves of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites who were living in Israel. These were the descendants of those foreigners the Israelites could not destroy, and they remained Israel's slaves.

21. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കള്ക്കു നിര്മ്മൂലമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയാതെ പിന്നീടും ദേശത്തു ശേഷിച്ചിരുന്ന അവരുടെ മക്കളെയും ശലോമോന് ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരാക്കി; അവര് ഇന്നുവരെ അങ്ങനെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

22. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളില് നിന്നോ ശലോമോന് ആരെയും ദാസ്യവേലക്കാക്കിയില്ല; അവര് അവന്റെ യോദ്ധാക്കളും ഭൃത്യന്മാരും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും പടനായകന്മാരും അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങള്ക്കും കുതിരച്ചേവകര്ക്കും അധിപതിമാരും ആയിരുന്നു.

23. അഞ്ഞൂറ്റമ്പതുപേര് ശലോമോന്റെ വേലയെടുത്ത ജനത്തിന്നു മേധാവികളായ മേലുദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്മാരായിരുന്നു.

23. Solomon appointed five hundred fifty officers to be in charge of his workers and to watch over his building projects.

24. ഫറവോന്റെ മകള് ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില്നിന്നു ശലോമോന് അവള്ക്കുവേണ്ടി പണിതിരുന്ന അരമനയില് പാര്പ്പാന് വന്നശേഷം അവന് മില്ലോ പണിതു.

24. Solomon's wife, the daughter of the king of Egypt, moved from the older part of Jerusalem to her new palace. Then Solomon had the land on the east side of Jerusalem filled in.

25. ശലോമോന് യഹോവേക്കു പണിതിരുന്ന യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് അവര് ആണ്ടില് മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും അര്പ്പിച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് ധൂപം കാട്ടും. ഇങ്ങനെ അവന് യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം തീര്ത്തു.

25. Three times a year, Solomon burned incense and offered sacrifices to the LORD on the altar he had built. Solomon had now finished building the LORD's temple.

26. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു എദോംദേശത്തു ചെങ്കടല്കരയില് ഏലോത്തിന്നു സമീപത്തുള്ള എസ്യോന് -ഗേബെരില്വെച്ചു കപ്പലുകള് പണിതു.

26. He also had a lot of ships at Ezion-Geber, a town in Edom near Eloth on the Red Sea.

27. ആ കപ്പലുകളില് ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഹീരാം സമുദ്രപരിചയമുള്ള കപ്പല്ക്കാരായ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരെ അയച്ചു.

27. King Hiram let some of his experienced sailors go to the country of Ophir with Solomon's own sailors, and they brought back about sixteen tons of gold for Solomon.

28. അവര് ഔഫീരിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അവിടെനിന്നു നാനൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്തു പൊന്നു ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
