1. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ്രാജാവു സര്വ്വസഭയോടും പറഞ്ഞതുദൈവം തന്നേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിരിക്കുന്ന എന്റെ മകന് ശലോമോന് ചെറുപ്പവും ഇളംപ്രായവും ഉള്ളവന് ; പ്രവൃത്തിവലിയതും ആകുന്നു; മന്ദിരം മനുഷ്യന്നല്ല, യഹോവയായ ദൈവത്തിന്നത്രെ.

1. AND KING David said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young, tender, and inexperienced; and the work is great, for the palace is not to be for man but for the Lord God.

2. എന്നാല് ഞാന് എന്റെ സര്വ്വബലത്തോടും കൂടെ എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടുള്ളവേക്കു പൊന്നും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടുള്ളവേക്കു വെള്ളിയും താമ്രംകൊണ്ടുള്ളവേക്കു താമ്രവും ഇരിമ്പുകൊണ്ടുള്ളവേക്കു ഇരിമ്പും മരംകൊണ്ടുള്ളവേക്കു മരവും ഗോമേദകക്കല്ലും പതിപ്പാനുള്ള കല്ലും ഖചിതപ്രവൃത്തിക്കുള്ള കല്ലും നാനവര്ണ്ണമുള്ള കല്ലും വിലയേറിയ സകലവിധ രത്നവും അനവധി വെള്ളക്കല്ലും ശേഖരിച്ചു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. So I have provided with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be of gold, silver for things of silver, bronze for things of bronze, iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood, as well as onyx or beryl stones, stones to be set, stones of antimony, stones of various colors, and all sorts of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

3. എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തോടു എനിക്കുള്ള പക്ഷംനിമിത്തം വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി ഞാന് ശേഖരിച്ചതൊക്കെയും കൂടാതെ എന്റെ സ്വന്തഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലെ പൊന്നും വെള്ളിയും എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിന്നായി കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. Moreover, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, in addition to all I have prepared for the holy house, I have a private treasure of gold and silver which I give for the house of my God:

4. ആലയഭിത്തികളെ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു വേണ്ടതു പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടു വേണ്ടതു വെള്ളികൊണ്ടും പൊതിവാനും കൌശലപ്പണിക്കാരുടെ എല്ലാ പണിക്കായിട്ടും ഔഫീര്പൊന്നായി മൂവായിരം താലന്തു പൊന്നും ഏഴായിരം താലന്തു ഊതിക്കഴിച്ച വെള്ളിയും തന്നേ.

4. It is 3,000 talents of gold, gold of Ophir, 7,000 talents of refined silver for overlaying the walls of the house,

5. എന്നാല് ഇന്നു യഹോവേക്കു കരപൂരണം ചെയ്വാന് മന:പൂര്വ്വം അര്പ്പിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്?

5. Gold for the uses of gold, silver for the uses of silver, and for every work to be done by craftsmen. Now who will offer willingly to fill his hand [and consecrate it] today to the Lord [like one consecrating himself to the priesthood]?

6. അപ്പോള് പിതൃഭവനപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ഗോത്രപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും സഹസ്രാധിപന്മാരും ശതാധിപന്മാരും രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു മേല്വിചാരകന്മാരും മന:പൂര്വ്വദാനങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

6. Then the chiefs of the fathers and princes of the tribes of Israel and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly

8. രത്നങ്ങള് കൈവശമുള്ളവര് അവയെ ഗേര്ശോന്യനായ യെഹീയേല്മുഖാന്തരം യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലേക്കു കൊടുത്തു.

8. And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the Lord in the care of Jehiel the Gershonite.

9. അങ്ങനെ ജനം മന:പൂര്വ്വമായി കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് സന്തോഷിച്ചു; ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയത്തോടെ മന:പൂര്വ്വമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു അവര് യഹോവേക്കു കൊടുത്തതു. ദാവീദ് രാജാവും അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു.

9. Then the people rejoiced because these had given willingly, for with a whole and blameless heart they had offered freely to the Lord. King David also rejoiced greatly.

10. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് സര്വ്വസഭയുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിച്ചു ചൊല്ലിയതെന്തെന്നാല്ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവായ യിസ്രായേലിന് ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ എന്നും എന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് .

10. Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly and said, Be praised, adored, and thanked, O Lord, the God of Israel our [forefather], forever and ever.

11. യഹോവേ, മഹത്വവും ശക്തിയും തേജസ്സും യശസ്സും മഹിമയും നിനക്കുള്ളതു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലുമുള്ളതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കുള്ളതല്ലോ. യഹോവേ, രാജത്വം നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു; നീ സകലത്തിന്നും മീതെ തലവനായിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and the earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and Yours it is to be exalted as Head over all.

12. ധനവും ബഹുമാനവും നിങ്കല് നിന്നു വരുന്നു; നീ സര്വ്വവും ഭരിക്കുന്നു; ശക്തിയും ബലവും നിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; സകലത്തെയും വലുതാക്കുന്നതും ശക്തീകരിക്കുന്നതും നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയാകുന്നു.

12. Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all. In Your hands are power and might; in Your hands it is to make great and to give strength to all.

13. ആകയാല് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ, ഞങ്ങള് നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു നിന്റെ മഹത്വമുള്ള നാമത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

13. Now therefore, our God, we thank You and praise Your glorious name and those attributes which that name denotes.

14. എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള് ഇങ്ങനെ ഇത്ര മന:പൂര്വ്വമായി ദാനം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു പ്രാപ്തരാകുവാന് ഞാന് ആര്? എന്റെ ജനവും എന്തുള്ളു? സകലവും നിങ്കല്നിന്നല്ലോ വരുന്നതു; നിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വാങ്ങി ഞങ്ങള് നിനക്കു തന്നതേയുള്ളു.

14. But who am I, and what are my people, that we should retain strength and be able to offer thus so willingly? For all things come from You, and out of Your own [hand] we have given You.

15. ഞങ്ങള് നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ അങ്ങളുടെ സകലപിതാക്കന്മാരെയുംപോലെ അതിഥികളും പരദേശികളും ആകുന്നു; ഭൂമിയില് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആയുഷ്കാലം ഒരു നിഴല് പോലെയത്രേ; യാതൊരു സ്ഥിരതയുമില്ല.

15. For we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as all our fathers were; our days on the earth are like a shadow, and there is no hope or expectation of remaining.

16. ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനാമത്തിന്നായി നിനക്കു ഒരു ആലയം പണിവാന് ഞങ്ങള് ശേഖരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ഈ സംഗ്രഹമെല്ലാം നിന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നുള്ളതു; സകലവും നിനക്കുള്ളതാകുന്നു.

16. O Lord our God, all this store that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy Name and the token of Your presence comes from Your hand, and is all Your own.

17. എന്റെ ദൈവമേ; നീ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശോധനചെയ്തു പരമാര്ത്ഥതയില് പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; ഞാനോ എന്റെ ഹൃദയപരമാര്ത്ഥതയോടെ ഇവയെല്ലാം മന:പൂര്വ്വമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു ഇപ്പോള് ഇവിടെ കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ജനം നിനക്കു മന:പൂര്വ്വമായി തന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാന് സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കണ്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. I know also, my God, that You try the heart and delight in uprightness. In the uprightness of my heart I have freely offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy Your people who are present here offer voluntarily and freely to You.

18. ഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെയും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെയും ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് ഈ വിചാരങ്ങളും ഭാവവും എന്നേക്കും കാത്തു അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ നിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിക്കേണമേ.

18. O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep forever such purposes and thoughts in the minds of Your people, and direct and establish their hearts toward You.

19. എന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന് നിന്റെ കല്പനകളും സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും പ്രമാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നായി ഞാന് വട്ടംകൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്ന മന്ദിരം തീര്പ്പാന് ഇവയെല്ലാം നിവര്ത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അവന്നു ഒരു ഏകാഗ്രഹൃദയം നല്കേണമേ.

19. And give to Solomon my son a blameless heart to keep Your commandments, testimonies, and statutes, and to do all that is necessary to build the palace [for You] for which I have made provision.

20. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് സര്വ്വസഭയോടുംഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ സഭ മുഴുവനും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തി യഹോവയെയും രാജാവിനെയും വണങ്ങി നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

20. And David said to all the assembly, Now adore (praise and thank) the Lord your God! And all the assembly blessed the Lord, the God of their fathers, and bowed down and did obeisance to the Lord and to the king [as His earthly representative].

21. പിന്നെ അവര് യഹോവേക്കു ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളെ അര്പ്പിച്ചു; പിറ്റെന്നാള് യഹോവേക്കു ഹോമയാഗമായി ആയിരം കാളയെയും ആയിരം ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും ആയിരം കുഞ്ഞാടിനെയും അവയുടെ പാനീയയാഗങ്ങളെയും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും വേണ്ടി അനവധി ഹനനയാഗങ്ങളെയും കഴിച്ചു.

21. The next day they offered sacrifices and burnt offerings to the Lord: 1,000 bulls, 1,000 rams, and 1,000 lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.

22. അവര് അവന്നു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് മഹാസന്തോഷത്തോടെ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനംചെയ്തു; ദാവീദിന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോനെ രണ്ടാം പ്രാവശ്യം രാജാവാക്കി; അവനെ യഹോവേക്കു പ്രഭുവായിട്ടും സാദോക്കിനെ പുരോഹിതനായിട്ടും അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

22. They ate and drank before the Lord on that day with great rejoicing. They made Solomon son of David king a second time, and anointed him as prince for the Lord and Zadok to be high priest.

23. അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്നു പകരം യഹോവയുടെ സിംഹാസനത്തില് രാജാവായിരുന്നു കൃതാര്ത്ഥനായി. യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിച്ചു.

23. Then Solomon sat on the throne of the Lord as king instead of David his father; and he prospered, and all Israel obeyed him.

24. സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരും വീരന്മാരും ദാവീദ്രാജാവിന്റെ സകലപുത്രന്മാരും ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്നു കീഴ്പെട്ടു.

24. All the leaders and mighty men, and also all the sons of King David, pledged allegiance to King Solomon.

25. യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും കാണ്കെ യഹോവ ശലോമോനെ അത്യന്തം മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി, യിസ്രായേലില് അവന്നു മുമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരു രാജാവിന്നും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത രാജമഹിമയും അവന്നു നല്കി.

25. And the Lord magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel and bestowed upon him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

26. ഇങ്ങനെ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ മകനായ ദാവീദ് എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി വാണിരുന്നു.

26. Thus David son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

27. അവന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വാണകാലം നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ആയിരുന്നു; അവന് ഏഴു സംവത്സരം ഹെബ്രോനിലും മുപ്പത്തിമൂന്നു സംവത്സരം യെരൂശലേമിലും വാണു.

27. The time he reigned over Israel was forty years--he reigned seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

28. അവന് നന്നാ വയസ്സുചെന്നവനും ആയുസ്സും ധനവും മാനവും തികഞ്ഞവനുമായി മരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ മകനായ ശലോമോന് അവന്നു പകരം രാജാവായി.

28. He died in a good old age [his seventy-first year], full and satisfied with days, riches, and honor. Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

29. എന്നാല് ദാവീദ് രാജാവിന്റെ ആദ്യന്തവൃത്താന്തങ്ങളും അവന്റെ രാജ്യഭാരം ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ പരാക്രമപ്രവൃത്തികളും അവന്നും യിസ്രായേലിന്നും അന്യദേശങ്ങളിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഭവിച്ച കാലഗതികളും

29. Now the acts of King David, from first to last, are written in the recorded words of Samuel the seer, Nathan the prophet, and Gad the seer,

30. ദര്ശകനായ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ വൃത്താന്തത്തിലും നാഥാന് പ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിലും ദര്ശകനായ ഗാദിന്റെ വൃത്താന്തത്തിലും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

30. With accounts of all his reign and his might, and the times through which he and Israel passed, as did all the kingdoms of the countries.
