1. യഹോവേ, ന്യായത്തെ കേള്ക്കേണമേ, എന്റെ നിലവിളിയെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കേണമേ. കപടമില്ലാത്ത അധരങ്ങളില്നിന്നുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയെ ചെവിക്കൊള്ളേണമേ.

1. A Prayer. Of David. Let my cause come to your ears, O Lord, give attention to my cry; give ear to my prayer which goes not out from false lips.

2. എനിക്കുള്ള വിധി നിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടട്ടെ; നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നേര് കാണുമാറാകട്ടെ.

2. Be my judge; for your eyes see what is right.

3. നീ എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ശോധനചെയ്തു രാത്രിയില് എന്നെ സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു; നീ എന്നെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ദുരുദ്ദേശമൊന്നും കണ്ടെത്തുന്നില്ല; എന്റെ വായ് ലംഘനം ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

3. You have put my heart to the test, searching me in the night; you have put me to the test and seen no evil purpose in me; I will keep my mouth from sin.

4. മനുഷ്യരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഞാന് നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ വചനത്താല് നിഷ്ഠൂരന്റെ പാതകളെ സൂക്ഷിച്ചൊഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. As for the works of men, by the word of your lips I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.

5. എന്റെ നടപ്പു നിന്റെ ചുവടുകളില് തന്നേ ആയിരുന്നു; എന്റെ കാല് വഴുതിയതുമില്ല.

5. I have kept my feet in your ways, my steps have not been turned away.

6. ദൈവമേ, ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എനിക്കുത്തരമരുളുമല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ചെവി എങ്കലേക്കു ചായിച്ചു എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കേണമേ.

6. My cry has gone up to you, for you will give me an answer, O God: let your ear be turned to me, and give attention to my words.

7. നിന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്നവരെ അവരോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്നവരുടെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ വലങ്കയ്യാല് രക്ഷിക്കുന്നവനായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ അത്ഭുതകാരുണ്യം കാണിക്കേണമേ.

7. Make clear the wonder of your mercy, O saviour of those who put their faith in your right hand, from those who come out against them.

8. കണ്ണിന്റെ കൃഷ്ണമണിപോലെ എന്നെ കാക്കേണമേ; എന്നെ കൊള്ളയിടുന്ന ദുഷ്ടന്മാരും

8. Keep me as the light of your eyes, covering me with the shade of your wings,

9. എന്നെ ചുറ്റിവളയുന്ന പ്രാണശത്രുക്കളും എന്നെ പിടിക്കാതവണ്ണം നിന്റെ ചിറകിന്റെ നിഴലില് എന്നെ മറെച്ചുകൊള്ളേണമേ.

9. From the evil-doers who are violent to me, and from those who are round me, desiring my death.

10. അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയത്തെ അടെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വായികൊണ്ടു വമ്പു പറയുന്നു.

10. They are shut up in their fat: with their mouths they say words of pride.

11. അവര് ഇപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാലടി തുടര്ന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞങ്ങളെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടുവാന് ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു.

11. They have made a circle round our steps: their eyes are fixed on us, forcing us down to the earth;

12. കടിച്ചുകീറുവാന് കൊതിക്കുന്ന സിംഹംപോലെയും മറവിടങ്ങളില് പതിയിരിക്കുന്ന ബാലസിംഹംപോലെയും തന്നേ.

12. Like a lion desiring its food, and like a young lion waiting in secret places.

13. യഹോവേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവനോടെതിര്ത്തു അവനെ തള്ളിയിടേണമേ. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിന്റെ വാള്കൊണ്ടു ദുഷ്ടന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നും

13. Up! Lord, come out against him, make him low, with your sword be my saviour from the evil-doer.

14. തൃക്കൈകൊണ്ടു ലൌകികപുരുഷന്മാരുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നും വിടുവിക്കേണമേ; അവരുടെ ഔഹരി ഈ ആയുസ്സില് അത്രേ; നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവരുടെ വയറു നിറെക്കുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പുത്രസമ്പത്തു ധാരാളം ഉണ്ടു; തങ്ങളുടെ ധനശിഷ്ടം അവര് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്ക്കു വെച്ചേക്കുന്നു.

14. With your hand, O Lord, from men, even men of the world, whose heritage is in this life, and whom you make full with your secret wealth: they are full of children; after their death their offspring take the rest of their goods.

15. ഞാനോ, നീതിയില് നിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ കാണും; ഞാന് ഉണരുമ്പോള് നിന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടു തൃപ്തനാകും.

15. As for me, I will see your face in righteousness: when I am awake it will be joy enough for me to see your form.
