1. യഹോവേക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നതും അത്യുന്നതനായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ കീര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതും

1. A Psalm. A song for the Sabbath day. IT IS a good and delightful thing to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises [with musical accompaniment] to Your name, O Most High,

2. പത്തു കമ്പിയുള്ള വാദിത്രംകൊണ്ടും വീണകൊണ്ടും ഗംഭീരസ്വരമുള്ള കിന്നരംകൊണ്ടും

2. To show forth Your loving-kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness by night,

3. രാവിലെ നിന്റെ ദയയേയും രാത്രിതോറും നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്തതയേയും വര്ണ്ണിക്കുന്നതും നല്ലതു.

3. With an instrument of ten strings and with the lute, with a solemn sound upon the lyre.

4. യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൊണ്ടു നീ എന്നെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ കുറിച്ചു ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്കുന്നു.

4. For You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your works; at the deeds of Your hands I joyfully sing.

5. യഹോവേ, നിന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികള് എത്ര വലിയവയാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ വിചാരങ്ങള് അത്യന്തം അഗാധമായവ തന്നേ.

5. How great are Your doings, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep.

6. മൃഗപ്രായനായ മനുഷ്യന് അതു അറിയുന്നില്ല; മൂഢന് അതു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

6. A man in his rude and uncultivated state knows not, neither does a [self-confident] fool understand this:

7. ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് പുല്ലുപോലെ മുളെക്കുന്നതും നീതികേടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും തഴെക്കുന്നതും എന്നേക്കും നശിച്ചുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നാകുന്നു.

7. That though the wicked spring up like grass and all evildoers flourish, they are doomed to be destroyed forever.

8. നീയോ, യഹോവേ, എന്നേക്കും അത്യുന്നതനാകുന്നു.

8. But You, Lord, are on high forever.

9. യഹോവേ, ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള്, ഇതാ, നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കള് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു; നീതികേടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവരും ചിതറിപ്പോകും.

9. For behold, Your adversaries, O Lord, for behold, Your enemies shall perish; all the evildoers shall be scattered.

10. എങ്കിലും എന്റെ കൊമ്പു നീ കാട്ടുപോത്തിന്റെ കൊമ്പുപോലെ ഉയര്ത്തും; പുതിയ എണ്ണ എന്നെ തേപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

10. But my horn (emblem of excessive strength and stately grace) You have exalted like that of a wild ox; I am anointed with fresh oil.

11. എന്റെ കണ്ണു എന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ കണ്ടും എന്റെ ചെവി എന്നോടു എതിര്ക്കുംന്ന ദുഷ്കര്മ്മികളെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടും രസിക്കും.

11. My eye looks upon those who lie in wait for me; my ears hear the evildoers that rise up against me.

12. നീതിമാന് പനപോലെ തഴെക്കും; ലെബാനോനിലെ ദേവദാരുപോലെ വളരും.

12. The [uncompromisingly] righteous shall flourish like the palm tree [be long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful]; they shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon [majestic, stable, durable, and incorruptible].

13. യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തില് നടുതലയായവര് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പ്രാകാരങ്ങളില് തഴെക്കും.

13. Planted in the house of the Lord, they shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14. വാര്ദ്ധക്യത്തിലും അവര് ഫലം കായിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കും; അവര് പുഷ്ടിവെച്ചും പച്ചപിടിച്ചും ഇരിക്കും.

14. [Growing in grace] they shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap [of spiritual vitality] and [rich in the] verdure [of trust, love, and contentment].

15. യഹോവ നേരുള്ളവന് , അവന് എന്റെ പാറ, അവനില് നീതികേടില്ല എന്നു കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നെ.

15. [They are living memorials] to show that the Lord is upright and faithful to His promises; He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. [Rom. 9:14.]
