1. കള്ളത്തുലാസ്സു യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; ഒത്ത പടിയോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദം.

1. The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but an accurate weight is his elight.

2. അഹങ്കാരം വരുമ്പോള് ലജ്ജയും വരുന്നു; താഴ്മയുള്ളവരുടെ പക്കലോ ജ്ഞാനമുണ്ടു.

2. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

3. നേരുള്ളവരുടെ നിഷ്കളങ്കത്വം അവരെ വഴിനടത്തും; ദ്രോഹികളുടെ വികടമോ അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കും.

3. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the crookedness of the unfaithful destroys them.

4. ക്രോധദിവസത്തില് സമ്പത്തു ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; നീതിയോ മരണത്തില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കുന്നു.

4. Wealth does not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from mortal danger.

5. നിഷ്കളങ്കന്റെ നീതി അവന്റെ വഴിയെ ചൊവ്വാക്കും; ദുഷ്ടനോ തന്റെ ദുഷ്ടതകൊണ്ടു വീണു പോകും.

5. The righteousness of the blameless will make straight their way, but the wicked person will fall by his own wickedness.

6. നേരുള്ളവരുടെ നീതി അവരെ വിടുവിക്കും; ദ്രോഹികളോ തങ്ങളുടെ ദ്രോഹത്താല് പിടിപെടും.

6. The righteousness of the upright will deliver them, but the faithless will be captured by their own desires.

7. ദുഷ്ടന് മരിക്കുമ്പോള് അവന്റെ പ്രതീക്ഷ നശിക്കുന്നു; നീതികെട്ടവരുടെ ആശെക്കു ഭംഗം വരുന്നു.

7. When a wicked person dies, his expectation perishes, and the hope of his strength perishes.

8. നീതിമാന് കഷ്ടത്തില്നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന് അവന്നു പകരം അകപ്പെടുന്നു.

8. The righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked turns up in his stead.

9. വഷളന് വായ്കൊണ്ടു കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താല് വിടുവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

9. With his speech the godless person destroys his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

10. നീതിമാന്മാര് ശുഭമായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് പട്ടണം സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് നശിക്കുമ്പോള് ആര്പ്പുവിളി ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.

10. When the righteous do well, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there is joy.

11. നേരുള്ളവരുടെ അനുഗ്രഹംകൊണ്ടു പട്ടണം അഭ്യുദയം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ വായ്കൊണ്ടോ അതു ഇടിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നു.

11. A city is exalted by the blessing provided from the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel of the wicked.

12. കൂട്ടുകാരനെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്നവന് ബുദ്ധിഹീനന് ; വിവേകമുള്ളവനോ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. The one who denounces his neighbor lacks wisdom, but the one who has discernment keeps silent.

13. ഏഷണിക്കാരനായി നടക്കുന്നവന് രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; വിശ്വസ്തമാനസനോ കാര്യം മറെച്ചുവെക്കുന്നു.

13. The one who goes about slandering others reveals secrets, but the one who is trustworthy conceals a matter.

14. പരിപാലനം ഇല്ലാത്തേടത്തു ജനം അധോഗതി പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്തിലോ രക്ഷയുണ്ടു.

14. When there is no guidance a nation falls, but there is success in the abundance of counselors.

15. അന്യന്നുവേണ്ടി ജാമ്യം നിലക്കുന്നവന് അത്യന്തം വ്യസനിക്കും! ജാമ്യം നില്പാന് പോകാത്തവനോ നിര്ഭയനായിരിക്കും.

15. The one who puts up security for a stranger will surely have trouble, but whoever avoids shaking hands will be secure.

16. ലാവണ്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീ മാനം രക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; വിക്രമന്മാര് സമ്പത്തു സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

16. A generous woman gains honor, and ruthless men seize wealth.

17. ദയാലുവായവന് സ്വന്തപ്രാണന്നു നന്മ ചെയ്യുന്നു; ക്രൂരനോ സ്വന്തജഡത്തെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്നു.

17. A kind person benefits himself, but a cruel person brings himself trouble.

18. ദുഷ്ടന് വൃഥാലാഭം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; നീതി വിതെക്കുന്നവനോ വാസ്തവമായ പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടും.

18. The wicked person earns deceitful wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a genuine reward.

19. നീതിയില് സ്ഥിരപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നവന് ജീവനെ പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു; ദോഷത്തെ പിന്തുടരുന്നവനോ തന്റെ മരണത്തിന്നായി പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു.

19. True righteousness leads to life, but the one who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.

20. വക്രബുദ്ധികള് യഹോവേക്കു വെറുപ്പു; നിഷ്കളങ്കമാര്ഗ്ഗികളോ അവന്നു പ്രസാദം.

20. The LORD abhors those who are perverse in heart, but those who are blameless in their ways are his delight.

21. ദുഷ്ടന്നു ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നതിന്നു ഞാന് കയ്യടിക്കാം; നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ സന്തതിയോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

21. Be assured that the evil person will certainly be punished, but the descendants of the righteous will not suffer unjust judgment.

22. വിവേകമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു സുന്ദരി പന്നിയുടെ മൂക്കില് പൊന് മൂകൂത്തിപോലെ.

22. Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who rejects discretion.

23. നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ ആഗ്രഹം നന്മ തന്നേ; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ പ്രതീക്ഷയോ ക്രോധമത്രേ.

23. What the righteous desire leads only to good, but what the wicked hope for leads to wrath.

24. ഒരുത്തന് വാരിവിതറീട്ടും വര്ദ്ധിച്ചുവരുന്നു; മറ്റൊരുത്തന് ന്യായവിരുദ്ധമായി ലോഭിച്ചിട്ടും ഞെരുക്കമേയുള്ളു.

24. One person is generous and yet grows more wealthy, but another withholds more than he should and comes to poverty.

25. ഔദാര്യമാനസന് പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും; തണുപ്പിക്കുന്നവന്നു തണുപ്പു കിട്ടും.

25. A generous person will be enriched, and the one who provides water for others will himself be satisfied.

26. ധാന്യം പൂട്ടിയിട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നവനെ ജനങ്ങള് ശപിക്കും; അതു വിലക്കുന്നവന്റെ തലമേലോ അനുഗ്രഹംവരും.

26. People will curse the one who withholds grain, but they will praise the one who sells it.

27. നന്മെക്കായി ഉത്സാഹിക്കുന്നവന് രഞ്ജന സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നു; തിന്മയെ തിരയുന്നവന്നോ അതു തന്നേ കിട്ടും.

27. The one who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but the one who searches for evil it will come to him.

28. തന്റെ സമ്പത്തില് ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവന് വീഴും; നീതിമാന്മാരോ പച്ചയിലപോലെ തഴെക്കും.

28. The one who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.

29. സ്വഭവനത്തെ വലെക്കുന്നവന്റെ അനുഭവം വായുവത്രെ; ഭോഷന് ജ്ഞാനഹൃദയന്നു ദാസനായ്തീരും.

29. The one who troubles his family will inherit nothing, and the fool will be a servant to the wise person.

30. നീതിമാന്നു ജീവവൃക്ഷം പ്രതിഫലം; ജ്ഞാനിയായവന് ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ നേടന്നു.

30. The fruit of the righteous is like a tree producing life, and the one who wins souls is wise.

31. നീതിമാന്നു ഭൂമിയില് പ്രതിഫലം കിട്ടുന്നു എങ്കില് ദുഷ്ടന്നും പാപിക്കും എത്ര അധികം?
