1. സമുദ്രതീരത്തെ മരുഭൂമിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംതെക്കു ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റു അടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, അതു മരുഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഭയങ്കരദേശത്തുനിന്നു തന്നേ വരുന്നു!

1. The vision of the desert. As though a whirlwind should pass through the desert, coming from a desert, [even] from such a land,

2. കഠിനമായോരു ദര്ശനം എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ദ്രോഹി ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്യുന്നു; കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന് കവര്ച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഏലാമേ, കയറിച്ചെല്ലുക, മേദ്യയേ, നിരോധിച്ചുകൊള്ക; അതിന്റെ ഞരക്കമൊക്കെയും ഞാന് നിര്ത്തിക്കളയും.

2. [so] a fearful and a grievous vision was declared to me; he that is treacherous deals treacherously, the transgressor transgresses. The Elamites are upon me, and the ambassadors of the Persians come against me; now will I groan and comfort myself.

3. Therefore are my loins filled with feebleness, and pangs have seized me as a travailing woman; I dealt wrongfully that I might not hear; I hastened that I might not see.

4. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം പതറുന്നു; ഭീതി എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് കാംക്ഷിച്ച സന്ധ്യാസമയം അവന് എനിക്കു വിറയലാക്കിത്തീര്ത്തു.

4. My heart wanders, and transgression overwhelms me; my soul is occupied with fear.

5. Prepare the table; eat, drink. Arise, you princes, and prepare [your] shields.

6. കര്ത്താവു എന്നോടുനീ ചെന്നു ഒരു കാവല്ക്കാരനെ നിര്ത്തിക്കൊള്ക; അവന് കാണുന്നതു അറിയിക്കട്ടെ.

6. For thus said the Lord to me, Go and station a watchman for yourself, and declare whatever you shall see.

7. ഈരണ്ടീരണ്ടായി വരുന്ന കുതിരപ്പടയെയും കഴുതപ്പടയെയും ഒട്ടകപ്പടയെയും കാണുമ്പോള് അവന് ബഹുശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

7. And I saw two mounted horsemen, and a rider on a donkey, and a rider on a camel.

8. അവന് ഒരു സിംഹംപോലെ അലറികര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് പകല് ഇടവിടാതെ കാവല്നിലക്കുന്നു; രാത്രി മുഴുവനും ഞാന് കാവല് കാത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

8. Hearken with great attention, and call Uriah to the watchtower; the Lord has spoken. I stood continually during the day, and I stood in the camp all night;

9. ഇതാ, ഒരു കൂട്ടം കുതിരച്ചേവകര്; ഈരണ്ടീരണ്ടായി കുതിരപ്പട വരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. വീണു, ബാബേല് വീണു! അതിലെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നിലത്തു വീണു തകര്ന്നു കിടക്കുന്നു എന്നും അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. and behold, he comes riding in a chariot and pair; and he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all her images and her idols have been crushed to the ground.

10. എന്റെ മെതിയോ, എന്റെ കളത്തിലെ ധാന്യമേ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു ഞാന് കേട്ടിട്ടുള്ളതു നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. Hear, you that are left, and you that are in pain, hear what things I have heard of the Lord of hosts, [which] the God of Israel has declared to us.

11. ദൂമയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംകാവല്ക്കാരാ, രാത്രി എന്തായി? കാവല്ക്കാരാ, രാത്രി എന്തായി? എന്നു ഒരുത്തന് സേയീരില്നിന്നു എന്നോടു വിളിച്ചുചോദിക്കുന്നു.

11. The vision of Edom. Call to me out of Seir; guard the bulwarks.

12. അതിന്നു കാവല്ക്കാരന് പ്രഭാതവും രാത്രിയും വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ചോദിക്കേണമെങ്കില് ചോദിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് ; പോയി വരുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. I watch in the morning and the night, if you would inquire, inquire, and dwell by me.

13. അറബിദേശത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പ്രവാചകംദേദാന്യരുടെ സാര്ത്ഥഗണങ്ങളായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങള് അറബിയിലെ കാട്ടില് രാപാര്പ്പിന് .

13. You may lodge in the forest in the evening, or in the way of Dedan.

14. തേമാദേശനിവാസികളേ, നിങ്ങള് ദാഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു വെള്ളം കൊണ്ടുചെല്ലുവിന് ; ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവരെ അപ്പവുമായി ചെന്നു എതിരേല്പിന് .

14. You that dwell in the country of Tema, bring water to meet him that is thirsty;

15. അവര് വാളിനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവരാകുന്നു; ഊരിയ വാളിനെയും കുലെച്ച വില്ലിനെയും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ കൊടുമയെയും ഒഴിഞ്ഞു ഔടുന്നവര് തന്നേ.

15. meet the fugitives with bread, because of the multitude of the slain, and because of the multitude of them that lose their way, and because of the multitude of swords, and because of the multitude of bent bows, and because of the multitude of them that have fallen in war.

16. കര്ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തുകൂലിക്കാരന്റെ ആണ്ടുപോലെയുള്ള ഒരു ആണ്ടിന്നകം കേദാരിന്റെ മഹത്വം ഒക്കെയും ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകും;

16. For thus said the Lord to me, Yet a year, as the year of a hireling, [and] the glory of the sons of Kedar shall fail;

17. കേദാര്യ്യരില് വീരന്മാരായ വില്ലാളികളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് ശേഷിക്കുന്നവര് ചുരുക്കമായിരിക്കും; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയല്ലോ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

17. and the remnant of the strong bows of the sons of Kedar shall be small; for the Lord God of Israel has spoken [it].
