1. യഹോവ ഭൂമിയെ നിര്ജ്ജനവും ശൂന്യവും ആക്കി കീഴ്മേല് മറിക്കയും അതിലെ നിവാസികളെ ചിതറിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

1. Behold, Jehovah maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.

2. ജനത്തിന്നും പുരോഹിതന്നും, ദാസന്നും യജമാനന്നും, ദാസിക്കും, യജമാനത്തിക്കും, കൊള്ളുന്നവന്നും വിലക്കുന്നവന്നും, കടം കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നും കടം വാങ്ങുന്നവന്നും, പലിശ വാങ്ങുന്നവന്നും പലിശ കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നും ഒരുപോലെ ഭവിക്കും.

2. And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the creditor, so with the debtor; as with the taker of interest, so with the giver of interest to him.

3. ഭൂമി അശേഷം നിര്ജ്ജനമായും കവര്ച്ചയായും പോകും; യഹോവയല്ലോ ഈ വചനം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നതു.

3. The earth shall be utterly emptied, and utterly laid waste; for Jehovah hath spoken this word.

4. ഭൂമി ദുഃഖിച്ചു വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു; ഭൂതലം ക്ഷയിച്ചു വാടിപ്പോകുന്നു;

4. The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the lofty people of the earth do languish.

5. ഭൂമിയിലെ ഉന്നതന്മാര് ക്ഷീണിച്ചുപോകുന്നു. ഭൂമി അതിലെ നിവാസികളാല് മലിനമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവര് പ്രാമണങ്ങളെ ലംഘിച്ചു ചട്ടത്തെ മറിച്ചു നിത്യനിയമത്തിന്നു ഭംഗം വരുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

5. The earth also is polluted under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes, broken the everlasting covenant.

6. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഭൂമി ശാപഗ്രസ്തമായി അതില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നവര് ശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഭൂവാസികള് ദഹിച്ചുപോയി ചുരുക്കംപേര് മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are found guilty: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

7. പുതുവീഞ്ഞു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നു; മുന്തിരിവള്ളി വാടുന്നു; സന്തുഷ്ടമാനസന്മാരൊക്കെയും നെടുവീര്പ്പിടുന്നു.

7. The new wine mourneth, the vine languisheth, all the merry-hearted do sigh.

8. തപ്പുകളുടെ ആനന്ദം നിന്നുപോകുന്നു; ഉല്ലസിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷം തീര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു; കിന്നരത്തിന്റെ ആനന്ദം ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നു.

8. The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.

9. അവര് പാട്ടുപാടിക്കൊണ്ടു വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കയില്ല; മദ്യംകുടിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും അതു കൈപ്പായിരിക്കും.

9. They shall not drink wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it.

10. ശൂന്യപട്ടണം ഇടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നു; ആര്ക്കും കടന്നു കൂടാതവണ്ണം എല്ലാവീടും അടഞ്ഞുപോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

10. The waste city is broken down; every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

11. വീഞ്ഞില്ലായ്കയാല് വീഥികളില് നിലവിളികേള്ക്കുന്നു; സന്തോഷം ഒക്കെ ഇരുണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; ദേശത്തിലെ ആനന്ദം പൊയ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. There is a crying in the streets because of the wine; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone.

12. പട്ടണത്തില് ശൂന്യത മാത്രം ശേഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; വാതില് തകര്ന്നു നാശമായി കിടക്കുന്നു.

12. In the city is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.

13. ഒലിവു തല്ലുംപോലെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിച്ചു തീര്ന്നിട്ടു കാലാ പെറുക്കും പോലെയും ഭൂമിയുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയില് സംഭവിക്കുന്നു.

13. For thus shall it be in the midst of the earth among the peoples, as the shaking of an olive-tree, as the gleanings when the vintage is done.

14. അവര് ഉച്ചത്തില് ആര്ക്കും; യഹോവയുടെ മഹിമനിമിത്തം അവര് സമുദ്രത്തില്നിന്നു ഉറക്കെ ആര്ക്കും.

14. These shall lift up their voice, they shall shout; for the majesty of Jehovah they cry aloud from the sea.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങള് കിഴക്കു യഹോവയെയും സമുദ്രതീരങ്ങളില് യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെയും മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തുവിന് .

15. Wherefore glorify ye Jehovah in the east, even the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel, in the isles of the sea.

16. നീതിമാന്നു മഹത്വം എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നു കീര്ത്തനം പാടുന്നതു ഞങ്ങള് കേട്ടു; ഞാനോഎനിക്കു ക്ഷയം, എനിക്കു ക്ഷയം, എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ദ്രോഹികള് ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ദ്രോഹികള് മഹാദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs: Glory to the righteous. But I said, I pine away, I pine away, woe is me! the treacherous have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous have dealt very treacherously.

17. ഭൂവാസിയേ, പേടിയും കുഴിയും കണിയും നിനക്കു നേരിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

17. Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

18. പേടി കേട്ടു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നവന് കുഴിയില് വീഴും; കുഴിയില്നിന്നു കയറുന്നവന് കണിയില് അകപ്പെടും; ഉയരത്തിലെ കിളിവാതിലുകള് തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനങ്ങള് കുലുങ്ങുന്നു.

18. And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

19. ഭൂമി പൊടുപൊടെ പൊട്ടുന്നു; ഭൂമി കിറുകിറെ കീറുന്നു; ഭൂമി കിടുകിട കിടുങ്ങുന്നു.

19. The earth is utterly broken, the earth is rent asunder, the earth is shaken violently.

20. ഭൂമി മത്തനെപ്പോലെ ചാഞ്ചാടുന്നു; കാവല്മാടംപോലെ ആടുന്നു; അതിന്റെ അകൃത്യം അതിന്മേല് ഭാരമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു വീഴും, എഴുന്നേല്ക്കയുമില്ല.

20. The earth shall stagger like a drunken man, and shall sway to and fro like a hammock; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again.

21. അന്നാളില് യഹോവ ഉയരത്തില് ഉന്നതന്മാരുടെ സൈന്യത്തെയും ഭൂമിയില് ഭൂപാലന്മാരെയും സന്ദര്ശിക്കും.

21. And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah will punish the host of the high ones on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.

22. കുണ്ടറയില് വിലങ്ങുകാരെപ്പോലെ അവരെ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂട്ടി കാരാഗൃഹത്തില് അടെക്കയും ഏറിയനാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവരെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

22. And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison; and after many days shall they be visited.

23. സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ സീയോന് പര്വ്വതത്തിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും വാഴുകയാലും അവന്റെ മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെ മുമ്പില് തേജസ്സുണ്ടാകയാലും ചന്ദ്രന് നാണിക്കയും സൂര്യന് ലജ്ജിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

23. Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed; for Jehovah of hosts will reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem; and before his elders shall be glory.
