1. യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു എനിക്കുണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Yahweh said to me, 'Even if Moses and Samuel pleaded before me, I could not sympathise with this people! Drive them out of my sight; away with them!

2. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു നീ ഭാര്യയെ പരിഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു; നിനക്കു പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടാകയും അരുതു.

2. And if they ask you, 'Where shall we go?' tell them this, 'Yahweh says this: Those for the plague, to the plague; those for the sword, to the sword; those for famine, to famine; those for captivity, to captivity!

3. ഈ സ്ഥലത്തു ജനിക്കുന്ന പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും കുറിച്ചും ഈ ദേശത്തു അവരെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന അമ്മമാരെക്കുറിച്ചും അവരെ ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന അപ്പന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

3. 'I shall consign them to four kinds of thing, Yahweh declares: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, the birds of heaven and wild animals of earth to devour and to destroy.

4. അവര് കൊടിയ വ്യാധികളാല് മരിക്കും; ആരും അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിക്കയോ അവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവര് നിലത്തിന്നു വളമായി കിടക്കും; വാളാലും ക്ഷാമത്താലും അവര് മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകും; അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങള് ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികള്ക്കും കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങള്ക്കും ഇരയായിത്തീരും.

4. I shall make them an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, and what he did in Jerusalem.' '

5. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനീ ദുഃഖഭവനത്തില് ചെല്ലരുതു; വിലപിപ്പാന് പോകരുതു; അവരോടു സഹതാപം കാണിക്കയും അരുതു; ഞാന് എന്റെ സമാധാനവും ദയയും കരുണയും ഈ ജനത്തില്നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

5. Who is there to pity you, Jerusalem, who to grieve for you, who to go out of his way and ask how you are?

6. വലിയവരും ചെറിയവരും ഈ ദേശത്തു മരിക്കും; ആരും അവരെ കുഴിച്ചിടുകയില്ല, അവരെക്കുറിച്ചു വിലാപം കഴിക്കയില്ല, അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം മുറിവേല്പിക്കയില്ല, മുന് കഷണ്ടിയുണ്ടാക്കുകയുമില്ല.

6. 'You yourself have rejected me, Yahweh declares, you have turned your back on me; so I have stretched my hand over you and destroyed you. Tired of relenting,

7. മരിച്ചവനെക്കുറിച്ചു അവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആരും വിലാപത്തിങ്കല് അവര്ക്കും അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊടുക്കയില്ല; അപ്പനെച്ചൊല്ലിയോ അമ്മയെച്ചൊല്ലിയോ ആരും അവര്ക്കും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ പാനപാത്രം കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കയുമില്ല.

7. I have winnowed them with a winnow at the country's gates. They have been bereft, I have destroyed my people, but they refuse to leave their ways.

8. അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ഭക്ഷിപ്പാനും പാനം ചെയ്വാനും നീ വിരുന്നു വീട്ടിലേക്കു പോകരുതു.

8. I have made their widows outnumber the sand of the sea. On the mother of young warriors I bring the destroyer in broad daylight. Suddenly I bring anguish and terror down on her.

9. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങള് കാണ്കെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ നാളുകളില് ആനന്ദഘോഷവും സന്തോഷധ്വനിയും മണവാളന്റെ സ്വരവും മണവാട്ടിയുടെ സ്വരവും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും.

9. The mother of seven sons grows faint and gasps for breath. It is still day, but already her sun has set, she is dismayed and distracted; and the rest of them I shall consign to the sword, to their enemies, Yahweh declares.'

10. നീ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഒക്കെയും ഈ ജനത്തോടു അറിയിക്കുമ്പോഴും യഹോവ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായി ഈ വലിയ അനര്ത്ഥം ഒക്കെയും കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യം എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു ഞങ്ങള് ചെയ്ത പാപം എന്തു എന്നു അവര് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുമ്പോഴും

10. A disaster for me, mother, that you bore me to be a man of strife and dissension for the whole country. I neither lend nor borrow, yet all of them curse me.

11. നീ അവരോടു പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര് എന്നെ ത്യജിച്ചു അന്യദേവന്മാരോടു ചേര്ന്നു അവരെ സേവിച്ചു നമസ്കരിക്കയും എന്നെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കയും ചെയ്കകൊണ്ടു തന്നേ എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

11. Have I not genuinely done my best to serve you, Yahweh? Have I not interceded with you in time of disaster and distress!

12. നിങ്ങളോ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരെക്കാള് അധികം ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് ഔരോരുത്തനും എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കാതെ താന്താന്റെ ദുഷ്ടഹൃദയത്തിലെ ശാഠ്യം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുന്നു.

12. 'Can iron break the iron of the north and the bronze?

13. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ഈ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിയാത്ത ഒരു ദേശത്തേക്കു നീക്കിക്കളയും; അവിടെ നിങ്ങള് രാവും പകലും അന്യദേവന്മാരെ സേവിക്കും; അവിടെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു കൃപ കാണിക്കയുമില്ല.

13. Your wealth and your treasures I shall hand over to plunder, without repayment, because of all your sins, throughout your territory.

14. ആകയാല്, യിസ്രാഘയേല്മക്കളെ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു ഇനി പറയാതെ,

14. I shall enslave you to your enemies in a country which you do not know, for my anger has kindled a fire that will burn you up.'

15. യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളെ വടക്കെദേശത്തുനിന്നും താന് അവരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരുന്ന സകലദേശങ്ങളില്നിന്നും കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയാണ എന്നു പറയുന്ന കാലം വരും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; ഞാന് അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊടുത്ത ദേശത്തിലേക്കു ഞാന് അവരെ വീണ്ടും കൊണ്ടുവരും.

15. Yahweh, you know! Remember me, take care of me, and avenge me on my persecutors. However long your anger endures, do not snatch me away. Realise that I suffer insult for your sake.

16. ഇതാ, ഞാന് അനേകം മീന് പിടിക്കാരെ വരുത്തും; അവര് അവരെ പിടിക്കും; അതിന്റെ ശേഷം ഞാന് അനേകം നായാട്ടുകാരെ വരുത്തും; അവര് അവരെ എല്ലാമലയിലും നിന്നും എല്ലാ കുന്നിലും നിന്നും പാറപ്പിളര്പ്പുകളില്നിന്നും നായാടിപ്പിടിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

16. When your words came, I devoured them: your word was my delight and the joy of my heart; for I was called by your Name, Yahweh, God Sabaoth.

17. എന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി അവരുടെ എല്ലാവഴികളുടെയും മേല് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ എനിക്കു മറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അകൃത്യം എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്നു ഗുപ്തമായിരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

17. I never sat in the company of scoffers amusing myself; with your hands on me I held myself aloof, since you had filled me with indignation.

18. അവര് എന്റെ ദേശത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ മ്ളേച്ഛവിഗ്രഹങ്ങളാല് മലിനമാക്കി എന്റെ അവകാശത്തെ തങ്ങളുടെ അറെപ്പുകളെക്കൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചിരിക്കയാല്, ഞാന് ഒന്നാമതു അവരുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ പാപത്തിന്നും ഇരിട്ടിച്ചു പകരം ചെയ്യും.

18. Why is my suffering continual, my wound incurable, refusing to be healed? Truly, for me you are a deceptive stream with uncertain waters!

19. എന്റെ ബലവും എന്റെ കോട്ടയും കഷ്ടകാലത്തു എന്റെ ശരണവുമായ യഹോവേ, ജാതികള് ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളില്നിന്നു നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നുഞങ്ങളുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും അവകാശമായിരുന്നതുട മിത്ഥ്യാമൂര്ത്തികളായ വെറും ഭോഷകു അത്രേ; അവയില് പ്രയോജനമുള്ളതു ഒന്നുമില്ല എന്നു പറയും.

19. To which Yahweh replied, 'If you repent, I shall restore you to plead before me. If you distinguish between the precious and the base, you shall be as my own mouth. They will come back to you, but you must not go back to them.

20. തനിക്കു ദേവന്മാരെ ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് മനുഷ്യന്നു കഴിയുമോ? എന്നാല് അവ ദേവന്മാരല്ല.

20. As far as these people are concerned, I shall make you a fortified wall of bronze. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, because I am with you to save you and rescue you, Yahweh declares.

21. ആകയാല് ഞാന് ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം അവരെ ഒന്നു പഠിപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ കയ്യും എന്റെ ബലവും ഞാന് അവരെ ഒന്നു അനുഭവിപ്പിക്കും; എന്റെ നാമം യഹോവ എന്നു അവര് അറിയും.

21. I shall rescue you from the clutches of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the violent.'
