1. സിദെക്കീയാരാജാവു മല്ക്കീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ പശ്ഹൂരിനെയും മയസേയാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഫന്യാപുരോഹിതനെയും യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു

1. And when Pashhur son of Immer, the priest, who also was deputy-overseer in the house of Yahweh, heard that Jeremiah had prophesied these things,

2. ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസര് ഞങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കേണമേ; അവന് ഞങ്ങളെ വിട്ടുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ തന്റെ സകല അത്ഭുതങ്ങള്ക്കും ഒത്തവണ്ണം പക്ഷേ ഞങ്ങളോടു പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കും എന്നു പറയിച്ചപ്പോള് യിരെമ്യാവിന്നു യഹോവയിങ്കല്നിന്നുണ്ടായ അരുളപ്പാടു.

2. then Pashhur smote Jeremiah the prophet, and put him in the stocks that were in the upper gate of Benjamin, which was in the house of Yahweh.

3. യിരെമ്യാവു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്നിങ്ങള് സിദെക്കീയാവോടു ഇപ്രകാരം പറയേണം

3. And it came to pass on the morrow, when Pashhur brought forth Jeremiah out of the stocks, that Jeremiah said unto him Not Pashhur, hath Yahweh called thy name, But Magor-missaviv.

4. യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുമതിലുകള്ക്കു പുറമെ നിങ്ങളെ നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ബാബേല്രാജാവിനോടും കല്ദയരോടും യുദ്ധംചെയ്വാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ കയ്യില് പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ആയുധങ്ങളെ ഞാന് മടക്കിച്ചു ഈ നഗരത്തിന്റെ നടുവില് കൂട്ടും.

4. For, Thus, saith Yahweh Behold me! making thee a terror to thyself and to all who love thee, and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, thine own eyes also, beholding, And all Judah, will I deliver into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will carry them captive to Babylon and smite them with the sword.

5. ഞാന് തന്നേയും നീട്ടിയ കൈകൊണ്ടും ബലമുള്ള ഭുജംകൊണ്ടും കോപത്തോടും ക്രോധത്തോടും അത്യുഗ്രതയോടുംകൂടെ നിങ്ങളോടു യുദ്ധംചെയ്യും.

5. And I will deliver up All the wealth of this city, and All her labour, and All her precious things, And all the treasures of the kings of Judah, will I deliver up into the hands of their enemies, and they will make of them a prey, and take them, and carry them into Babylon.

6. ഈ നഗരത്തില് വസിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഞാന് സംഹരിക്കും; അവര് മഹാമാരിയാല് മരിക്കും.

6. And, thou, Pashhur and all who are dwelling in thy house, shall go into captivity, Yea into Babylon, shalt thou enter And there, shalt thou die And there, shalt thou be buried Thou and all who love thee, to whom thou hast prophesied falsely.

7. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ സിദെക്കീയാവെയും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരെയും ജനത്തെയും ഈ നഗരത്തില് മഹാമാരി, വാള്, ക്ഷാമം എന്നിവേക്കു തെറ്റി ഒഴിഞ്ഞവരെ തന്നേ, ഞാന് ബാബേല്രാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ കയ്യിലും അവരുടെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കയ്യിലും അവര്ക്കും പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്നവരുടെ കയ്യിലും ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അവരോടു ക്ഷമയോ കനിവോ കരുണയോ കാണിക്കാതെ, അവരെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലകൊണ്ടു സംഹരിക്കും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

7. Thou didst persuade me, O Yahweh and I was persuaded, Thou didst lay firm hold on me and didst prevail, I am become a mockery, all the day, Every one, is laughing at me.

8. നീ ഈ ജനത്തോടു പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഇതാ, ഞാന് ജീവന്റെ വഴിയും മരണത്തിന്റെ വഴിയും നിങ്ങളുടെ മുമ്പില് വെക്കുന്നു.

8. For, as often as I speak, I make outcry, Violence and wasting, I proclaim, Yea the word of Yahweh hath become to me a reproach and derision lull the day

9. ഈ നഗരത്തില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നവന് വാള്കൊണ്ടും ക്ഷാമംകൊണ്ടും മഹാമാരികൊണ്ടും മരിക്കും; എന്നാല് നിങ്ങളെ നിരോധിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കല്ദയരുടെ പക്ഷം ചെന്നുചേരുന്നവനോ ജീവനോടെ ഇരിക്കും; അവന്റെ ജീവന് അവന്നു കൊള്ള കിട്ടിയതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും.

9. Therefore I say I will not mention him Neither will I speak any more in his name, But then it becometh in my heart as a fire that burneth, Shut up in my bones, And I am weary of restraint and cannot refrain.

10. ഞാന് എന്റെ മുഖം ഈ നഗരത്തിന്നുനോരെ നന്മെക്കല്ല തിന്മെക്കത്രേ വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു. അതിനെ ബാബേല്രാജാവിന്റെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കും; അവന് അതിനെ തീവെച്ചു ചുട്ടുകളയും.

10. Because I have heard the whispering of many 'A terror round about!' Tell ye say they , that we may tell of him, All the men I am wont to salute do watch for my halting, Peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail over him, and take our vengeance upon him.

11. യെഹൂദാരാജഗൃഹത്തോടു നീ പറയേണ്ടതുയഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് !

11. But, Yahweh, is with me, as a mighty one striking terror, For this cause, shall my persecutors stumble and not prevail, They have turned very pale, For they have not prospered, Confusion age-abiding, it shall not be forgotten!

12. ദാവീദ്ഗൃഹമേ, യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുനിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ദോഷംനിമിത്തം എന്റെ ക്രോധം തീപോലെ പാളി ആര്ക്കും കെടുത്തുകൂടാതവണ്ണം കത്താതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങള് ദിവസംതോറും ന്യായം പാലിക്കയും കവര്ച്ചയായി ഭവിച്ചവനെ പീഡകന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു വിടുവിക്കയും ചെയ്വിന് .

12. But O Yahweh of hosts Testing the righteous Beholding the affections and the heart, Let me see thine avenging upon them, For unto thee, have I laid bare my cause.

13. താഴ്വരയിലും സമഭൂമിയിലെ പാറയിലും പാര്ക്കയും ആര് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നേരെ വരും? ആര് ഞങ്ങളുടെ പാര്പ്പിടങ്ങളില് കടക്കും? എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിരോധമായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

13. Sing ye to Yahweh! Praise ye Yahweh! For he hath delivered the soul of the needy, out of the hand of evildoers.

14. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളുടെ ഫലത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദര്ശിക്കും; ഞാന് അവളുടെ കാട്ടിന്നു തീ വേക്കും; അതു അവളുടെ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള സകലത്തെയും ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

14. Accursed, be the day on which I was born, The day when my mother bare me, let it not be blessed!
