1. യോശീയാവിന്റെ മകനായി യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ യെഹോയാക്കീമിന്റെ നാലാം ആണ്ടില്, നേര്യ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരൂക് ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ യിരെമ്യാവിന്റെ വാമൊഴിപ്രകാരം ഒരു പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയപ്പോള് യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകന് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞ വചനം എന്തെന്നാല്

1. The Word which was to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who were living in the land of Egypt, those living at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Noph, and in the land of Pathros, saying,

2. ബാരൂക്കേ, നിന്നോടു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

2. So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, You have seen all the evil that I have brought on Jerusalem, and on all the cities of Judah. And, behold! This day they are a ruin, and no one lives in them,

3. യഹോവ എന്റെ വേദനയോടു ദുഃഖം കൂട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം! ഞാന് എന്റെ ഞരക്കംകൊണ്ടു തളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; ഒരു ആശ്വാസവും കാണുന്നില്ല എന്നു നീ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. because of the evil which they have done, by provoking Me to anger, by going to burn incense, by serving other gods that they did not know, they, you nor your fathers.

4. ഞാന് പണിതതു ഞാന് തന്നേ ഇടിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; ഞാന് നട്ടതു ഞാന് തന്നേ പറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു; ഭൂമിയില് എങ്ങും അതു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ.

4. And, I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying, Oh, do not do this abominable thing which I hate!

5. എന്നാല് നീ നിനക്കായിട്ടു വലിയ കാര്യങ്ങളെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവോ? ആഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു; ഞാന് സര്വ്വജഡത്തിന്നും അനര്ത്ഥം വരുത്തും എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു; എങ്കിലും നീ പോകുന്ന എല്ലാ ഇടത്തും ഞാന് നിന്റെ ജീവനെ നിനക്കു കൊള്ളപോലെ തരും എന്നിങ്ങനെ നീ അവനോടു പറയേണം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

5. But they did not listen nor stretch their ear, to turn from their evil, not to burn incense to other gods.
