1. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാരും സദൂക്യരും അടുക്കെ വന്നുആകാശത്തുനിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളം കാണിച്ചുതരേണമെന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

1. The Pharisees and the Sadducees came to tempt him; they asked him to show them a sign from the heaven.

2. അവരോടു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു“സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു ആകാശം ചുവന്നുകണ്ടാല് നല്ല തെളിവാകും എന്നും

2. But he answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, [It will be] fair weather, for the heaven [is glowing] with an aurora.

3. രാവിലെ ആകാശം മൂടി ചുവന്നുകണ്ടാല് ഇന്നു മഴക്കോള് ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നും നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു. ആകാശത്തിന്റെ ഭാവം വിവേചിപ്പാന് നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നാല് കാല ലക്ഷണങ്ങളെ വിവേചിപ്പാന് കഴികയില്ലയോ?

3. And in the morning, [It will be] foul weather today, for the heaven has an aurora and is cloudy. O [ye] hypocrites, ye know how to make decisions based on the face of the heaven, and regarding the signs of the times are ye unable?

4. ദോഷവും വ്യഭിചാരവുമുള്ള തലമുറ അടയാളം തിരയുന്നു; യോനയുടെ അടയാള മല്ലാതെ അതിന്നു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല;” പിന്നെ അവന് അവരെ വിട്ടു പോയി.

4. A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and no sign shall be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them and departed.

5. ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അക്കരെ പോകുമ്പോള് അപ്പം എടുപ്പാന് മറന്നുപോയി.

5. And when his disciples were coming from the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.

6. എന്നാല് യേശു അവരോടു“നോക്കുവിന് പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും പുളിച്ച മാവു സൂക്ഷിച്ചു കൊള്വിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.”

6. Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and keep [yourselves] from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

7. അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുപോരായ്കയാല് ആയിരിക്കും എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, [It is] because we have taken no bread.

8. അതു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു യേശു പറഞ്ഞതുഅല്പവിശ്വാസികളേ, അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവരായ്കയാല് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു?

8. [Which] when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves that ye have brought no bread?

9. ഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള് തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? അയ്യായിരം പേര്ക്കും അഞ്ചു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തിട്ടു എത്ര കൊട്ട എടുത്തു എന്നും

9. Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

10. നാലായിരം പേര്ക്കും ഏഴു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തിട്ടു എത്ര വട്ടി എടുത്തു എന്നും ഔര്ക്കുംന്നില്ലയോ?

10. Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

11. പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും പുളിച്ച മാവു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു അപ്പത്തെക്കുറിച്ചല്ല എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയാത്തതു എന്തു?

11. How is it that ye do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread that ye should keep [yourselves] from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

12. അങ്ങനെ അപ്പത്തിന്റെ പുളിച്ച മാവല്ല, പരീശന്മാരുടെയും സദൂക്യരുടെയും ഉപദേശമത്രേ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വാന് ” അവന് പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു അവര് ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

12. Then they understood that he bade [them] not to keep themselves from the leaven of bread, but from the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

13. യേശു ഫിലിപ്പിന്റെ കൈസര്യയുടെ പ്രദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു“ജനങ്ങള് മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

13. When Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?

14. ചിലര് യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകന് എന്നും മറ്റു ചിലര് ഏലീയാവെന്നും വേറെ ചിലര് യിരെമ്യാവോ പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനോ എന്നും പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

14. And they said, Some [say that thou art] John the Baptist; some, Elijah; and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.

15. “നിങ്ങളോ എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു അവന് ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ്

15. He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am?

16. നീ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുഎന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

17. യേശു അവനോടു“ബര്യോനാശിമോനെ, നീ ഭാഗ്യവാന് ; ജഡരക്തങ്ങള് അല്ല, സ്വര്ഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവത്രെ നിനക്കു ഇതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതു.

17. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed [it] unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens.

18. നീ പത്രൊസ് ആകുന്നു; ഈ പാറമേല് ഞാന് എന്റെ സഭയെ പണിയും; പാതാളഗോപുരങ്ങള് അതിനെ ജയിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

18. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, [a small rock] and upon the [large] rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against her.

19. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ താക്കോല് ഞാന് നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; നീ ഭൂമിയില് കെട്ടുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നീ ഭൂമിയില് അഴിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

19. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, and whatever thou shalt bind on the earth shall be bound in the heavens, and whatever thou shalt loose on the earth shall be loosed in the heaven.

20. പിന്നെ താന് ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു ആരോടും പറയാതിരിപ്പാന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

20. Then he charged his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

21. അന്നു മുതല് യേശു താന് യെരൂശലേമില് ചെന്നിട്ടു, മൂപ്പന്മാര്, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര്, ശാസ്ത്രിമാര് എന്നിവരാല് പലതും സഹിച്ചു കൊല്ലപ്പെടുകയും മൂന്നാം നാള് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും വേണ്ടതു എന്നു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

21. From that time forth Jesus began to declare unto his disciples, how it was expedient for him to go unto Jerusalem and to suffer many things of the elders and the princes of the priests and of the scribes and to be killed and to be raised again the third day.

22. പത്രൊസ് അവനെ വേറിട്ടു കൊണ്ടുപോയികര്ത്താവേ, അതു അരുതേ; നിനക്കു അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കരുതേ എന്നു ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.

22. Then Peter, taking him aside, began to rebuke him, saying, Lord, be it far from thee; in no wise shall this happen unto thee.

23. അവനോ തിരിഞ്ഞു പത്രൊസിനോടു; “സാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോ; നീ എനിക്കു ഇടര്ച്ചയാകുന്നു; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റേതല്ല മനുഷ്യരുടേതത്രെ കരുതുന്നതു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. But he turned and said unto Peter, Remove thyself from before me, Satan; thou art an offence unto me, for thou dost not understand that which [is] of God, but that which [is] of men.

24. പിന്നെ യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു“ഒരുത്തന് എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് തന്നെത്താന് ത്യജിച്ചു, തന്റെ ക്രൂശു എടുത്തു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

24. Then Jesus said unto his disciples, If anyone will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his stake and follow me.

25. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അതിനെ കളയും; എന്റെ നിമിത്തം ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാല് അതിനെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

25. For whosoever desires to save his life shall lose it, and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് സര്വലോകവും നേടീട്ടും തന്റെ ജീവനെ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തിയാല് അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം? അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവനെ വീണ്ടുകൊള്വാന് മനുഷ്യന് എന്തു മറുവില കൊടുക്കും?

26. For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

27. മനുഷ്യ പുത്രന് തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തില് തന്റെ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരും; അപ്പോള് അവന് ഔരോരുത്തന്നും അവനവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം നലകും.

27. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he shall reward everyone according to their works.

28. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തില് വരുന്നതു കാണുവോളം മരണം ആസ്വദിക്കാത്തവര് ചിലര് ഈ നിലക്കുന്നവരില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”

28. Verily I say unto you, There are some standing here who shall not taste of death until they have seen the Son of man coming in his kingdom.:
