2. “ഞാന് നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി എന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കുന്നു; അവന് നിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കും.

2. as yt is wrytten in the Prophetes: beholde I sende my messenger before thy face which shall prepared thy waye before ye.

3. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വഴി ഒരുക്കുവിന് അവന്റെ പാത നിരപ്പാക്കുവിന് എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ വാക്കു” എന്നിങ്ങനെ യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ യോഹന്നാന് വന്നു

3. The voyce of a cryer in the wildernes: prepare ye the waye of the Lorde make his paches streyght.

4. മരുഭൂമിയില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചും പാപമോചനത്തിന്നായുള്ള മാനസാന്തര സ്നാനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് യെഹൂദ്യദേശം ഒക്കെയും യെരൂശലേമ്യര് എല്ലാവരും വന്നു പാപങ്ങളെ ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു യോര്ദ്ദാന് നദിയില് അവനാല് സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

4. Iohn dyd baptise in the wyldernes and preche the baptyme of repentauce for the remission of synnes.

5. യോഹന്നാനോ ഒട്ടക രോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഉടുപ്പും അരയില് തോല് വാറും ധരിച്ചും വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനും ഉപജീവിച്ചും പോന്നു.

5. And all the londe of Iurie and they of Ierusalem went out vnto him and were all baptised of him in the ryver Iordan confessynge their synnes.

6. എന്നിലും ബലമേറിയവന് എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു കുനിഞ്ഞഴിപ്പാന് ഞാന് യോഗ്യനല്ല.

6. Iohn was clothed with cammylles heer and with a gerdyll of a skyn a bout hys loynes. And he dyd eate locustes and wylde hony

7. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ വെള്ളത്തില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; അവനോ നിങ്ങളെ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവില് സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു അവന് പ്രസംഗിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. and preached sayinge: a stronger then I commeth after me whose shue latchet I am not worthy to stoupe doune and vnlose.

8. ആ കാലത്തു യേശു ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തില് നിന്നു വന്നു യോഹന്നാനാല് യോര്ദ്ദാനില് സ്നാനം കഴിഞ്ഞു.

8. I have baptised you with water: but he shall baptise you with the holy goost.

9. വെള്ളത്തില് നിന്നു കയറിയ ഉടനെ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും ആത്മാവു പ്രാവുപോലെ തന്റെ മേല് വരുന്നതും കണ്ടു

9. And yt came to passe in those dayes that Iesus cam from Nazareth a cyte of Galile: and was baptised of Iohn in Iordan.

10. നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രന് ; നിന്നില് ഞാന് പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തില് നിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദവും ഉണ്ടായി.

10. And assone as he was come out of the water Iohn sawe heaven open and the holy goost descendinge vpon him lyke a dove.

11. അനന്തരം ആത്മാവു അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കു പോകുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

11. And ther came a voyce from heaven: Thou arte my dere sonne in whom I delyte.

12. അവിടെ അവന് സാത്താനാല് പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടു നാല്പതു ദിവസം മരുഭൂമിയില് കൂട്ടു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാര് അവനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു പോന്നു.

12. And immediatly the sprete drave him into wildernes:

13. എന്നാല് യോഹന്നാന് തടവില് ആയശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയില് ചെന്നു ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു

13. and he was there in the wildernes xl dayes and was tempted of Satan and was with wilde beestes. And the aungels ministred vnto him.

14. കാലം തികഞ്ഞു ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തില് വിശ്വസിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

14. After Iohn was taken Iesus came in to Galile preachinge the gospell of the kyngdome of God

15. അവന് ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോള് ശീമോനും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസും കടലില് വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അവര് മീന് പിടിക്കുന്നവര് ആയിരുന്നു.

15. and sayinge: the tyme is come and the kyngdome of God is at honde repent and beleve the gospell.

16. യേശു അവരോടുഎന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പിന് ; ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ മുനഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. As he walked by the see of Galile he sawe Simon and Andrew his brother castinge nettes into ye see for they were fysshers.

17. ഉടനെ അവര് വല വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

17. And Iesus sayde vnto them: folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men.

18. അവിടെ നിന്നു അല്പം മുന്നോട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോള് സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും പടകില് ഇരുന്നു വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

18. And strayght waye they forsoke their nettes and folowed him.

19. ഉടനെ അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു; അവര് അപ്പനായ സെബെദിയെ കൂലിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ പടകില് വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

19. And when he had gone a lytell further thence he sawe Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother even as they were in the shyppe mendinge their nettes.

20. അവര് കഫര്ന്നഹൂമിലേക്കു പോയി; ശബ്ബത്തില് അവന് പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു.

20. And anone he called them. And they leeft their father zebede in the shippe with his hyred servauntes and went their waye after him.

21. അവന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിങ്കല് അവര് വിസ്മയിച്ചു; അവന് ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, അധികാരമുള്ളവനായിട്ടത്രേ അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചതു.

21. And they entred into Capernau: and streight waye on ye Saboth dayes he entred in to ye synagoge and taught.

22. അവരുടെ പള്ളിയില് അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് ണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന് നിലവിളിച്ചു

22. And they merveled at his learninge. For he taught them as one that had power with him and not as the Scribes.

23. നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, ഞങ്ങള്ക്കും നിനക്കും തമ്മില് എന്തു? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് വന്നുവോ? നീ ആര് എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പിരിശുദ്ധന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And there was in their synagoge a ma vexed wt an vnclene spirite yt cried

24. യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചുമിണ്ടരുതു; അവനെ വിട്ടു പോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. sayinge: let be: what have we to do with the thou Iesus of Nazareth? Arte thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou arte eue that holy of god.

25. അപ്പോള് അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു അവനെ ഇഴെച്ചു, ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു അവനെ വിട്ടു പോയി.

25. And Iesus rebuked him sayinge: hoolde thy peace and come out of him.

26. എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടുഇതെന്തു? ഒരു പുതിയ ഉപദേശം; അവന് അധികാരത്തോടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോടും കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ അവനെ അനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറങ്ങു തമ്മില് വാദിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

26. And ye vnclene spirite tare him and cryed with a loude voyce and came out of him.

27. അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തില് ഗലീലനോടു എങ്ങും പരന്നു.

27. And they were all amased in so moche that they demaunded one of another amoge them selves saying: what thinge is this? what newe doctryne is this? For he comaundeth the foule spirites with power and they obeye him.

28. അനന്തരം അവര് പള്ളിയില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി യാക്കോബും യോഹന്നാനുമായി ശിമോന്റെയും അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും വീട്ടില് വന്നു.

28. And immediatly his fame spreed abroade throughoute all the region borderinge on Galile.

29. അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവര് അവളെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And forth with as sone as they were come out of the synagoge they entred into ye housse of Symon and Andrew with Iames and Ihon.

30. അവന് അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവളെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; പനി അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അവള് അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

30. And Symons mother in lawe lay sicke of a fever. And anone they tolde him of her.

31. വൈകുന്നേരം സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിച്ചശേഷം അവര് സകലവിധദീനക്കാരെയും ഭൂതഗ്രസ്തരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

31. And he came and toke her by the honde and lifte her vp: and the fever forsoke hir by and by: and she ministred vnto them.

32. പട്ടണം ഒക്കെയും വാതില്ക്കല് വന്നു കൂടിയിരുന്നു.

32. And at even when the sunne was downe they brought to him all that were diseased and them that were possessed with devyls.

33. നാനവ്യാധികളാല് വലഞ്ഞിരുന്ന അനേകരെ അവന് സൌഖ്യമാക്കി, അനേകം ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി; ഭൂതങ്ങള് അവനെ അറികകൊണ്ടു സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവയെ സമ്മതിച്ചില്ല.

33. And all the cite gaddred to gedder at the dore

34. അതികാലത്തു ഇരുട്ടോടെ അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഒരു നിര്ജ്ജനസ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

34. and he healed many yt were sicke of divers deseases. And he cast out many devyls and suffred not ye devyls to speake because they knewe him.

35. ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു,

35. And in the morninge very erly Iesus arose and went out into a solitary place and there prayed.

36. അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്എല്ലാവരും നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. And Simon and they that were with him folowed after him.

37. അവന് അവരോടുഞാന് അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം അവിടേക്കു പോക; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ ഞാന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. And when they had founde him they sayde vnto him: all men seke for the.

38. അങ്ങനെ അവന് ഗലീലയില് ഒക്കെയും അവരുടെ പള്ളികളില് ചെന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

38. And he sayd vnto them: let vs go into the next tounes that I maye preache there also: for truly I cam out for that purpose.

39. ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു മുട്ടുകുത്തിനിനക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കില് എന്നെ ശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴിയും എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

39. And he preached in their synagoges throughout all Galile and cast the devyls out.

40. യേശു മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞു കൈ നീട്ടി അവനെ തൊട്ടു

40. And there came a leper to him besechinge him and kneled doune vnto him and sayde to him: yf thou wilt thou canest make me clene.

41. മനസ്സുണ്ടു, ശുദ്ധമാക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ ഉടനെ കുഷ്ഠം വിട്ടുമാറി അവന്നു ശുദ്ധിവന്നു.

41. And Iesus had copassion on him and put forth his honde touched him and sayde to him: I will be thou clene.

42. യേശു അവനെ അമര്ച്ചയായി ശാസിച്ചു

42. And assone as he had spoke immediatly ye leprosy departed fro him and was clensed.

43. നോകൂ, ആരോടും ഒന്നും പറയരുതു; എന്നാല് ചെന്നു പുരോഹിതന്നു നിന്നെത്തന്നേ കാണിച്ചു, നിന്റെ ശുദ്ധീകരണത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി മോശെ കല്പിച്ചതു അവര്ക്കും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി അര്പ്പിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

43. And he charged him and sent him awaye forthwith

44. അവനോ പുറപ്പെട്ടു വളരെ ഘോഷിപ്പാനും വസ്തുത പ്രസംഗിപ്പാനും തുടങ്ങി; അതിനാല് യേശുവിന്നു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തില് കടപ്പാന് കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു അവന് പുറത്തു നിര്ജ്ജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളില് പാര്ത്തു; എല്ലാടത്തു നിന്നും ആളുകള് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി.

44. and sayd vnto him: Se thou saye no thinge to any man: but get the hence and shewe thy silfe to ye preste and offer for thy clensinge those thinges which Moses comaunded for a testimoniall vnto them.
