1. ഉടനെ അതികാലത്തു തന്നെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുമായി ന്യായാധിപസംഘം ഒക്കെയും കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചു യേശുവിനെ കെട്ടി കൊണ്ടു പോയി പീലാത്തൊസിനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു.

1. Immediately in the morning the chief Kohanim, with the Zakenim and Sofrim, and the whole council, held a consultation, and bound Yeshua, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.

2. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുനീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന് ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Pilate asked him, 'Are you the King of the Yehudim?' He answered, 'So you say.'

3. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് അവനെ ഏറിയോന്നു കുറ്റം ചുമത്തി.

3. The chief Kohanim accused him of many things.

4. പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചുനീ ഒരുത്തരവും പറയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഇതാ, അവര് നിന്നെ എന്തെല്ലാം കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Pilate again asked him, 'Have you no answer? See how many things they testify against you!'

5. But Yeshua made no further answer, so that Pilate marveled.

6. Now at the feast he used to release to them one prisoner, whom they asked of him.

7. എന്നാല് ഒരു കലഹത്തില് കുല ചെയ്തവരായ കലഹക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ബന്ധിച്ചിരുന്ന ബറബ്ബാസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരുത്തന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

7. There was one called Bar-Abba, bound with those who had made insurrection, men who in the insurrection had committed murder.

8. പുരുഷാരം കയറി വന്നു, അവന് പതിവുപോലെ ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.

8. The multitude, crying aloud, began to ask him to do as he always did for them.

9. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് അസൂയകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ഏല്പിച്ചു എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് അറിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവരോടു

9. Pilate answered them, saying, 'Do you want me to release to you the King of the Yehudim?'

10. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവിനെ നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വിട്ടുതരേണം എന്നു ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

10. For he perceived that for envy the chief Kohanim had delivered him up.

11. എന്നാല് അവന് ബറബ്ബാസിനെ വിട്ടുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ചോദിപ്പാന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാര് പുരുഷാരത്തെ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

11. But the chief Kohanim stirred up the multitude, that he should release Bar-Abba to them instead.

12. പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും അവരോടുഎന്നാല് യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നവനെ ഞാന് എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

12. Pilate again asked them, 'What then should I do to him whom you call the King of the Yehudim?'

13. അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്ക എന്നു അവര് വീണ്ടും നിലവിളിച്ചു.

13. They cried out again, 'Crucify him!'

14. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുഅവന് എന്തു ദോഷം ചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാറെ, അവനെ ക്രൂശിക്ക എന്നു അവര് അധികമായി നിലവിളിച്ചു.

14. Pilate said to them, 'Why, what evil has he done?' But they cried out exceedingly, 'Crucify him!'

15. പീലാത്തൊസ് പുരുഷാരത്തിന്നു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചു ബറബ്ബാസിനെ അവര്ക്കും വിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു യേശുവിനെ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിപ്പിച്ചു ക്രൂശിപ്പാന് ഏല്പിച്ചു.

15. Pilate, wishing to please the multitude, released Bar-Abba to them, and handed over Yeshua, when he had flogged him, to be crucified.

16. പടയാളികള് അവനെ ആസ്ഥാനമായ മണ്ഡപത്തിന്നകത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി പട്ടാളത്തെ എല്ലാം വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി.

16. The soldiers led him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they called together the whole cohort.

17. അവനെ രക്താംബരം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു, മുള്ളുകൊണ്ടു ഒരു കിരീടം മെടഞ്ഞു അവനെ ചൂടിച്ചു

17. They clothed him with purple, and weaving a crown of thorns, they put it on him.

18. യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവേ, ജയജയ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു വന്ദിച്ചു;

18. They began to salute him, 'Hail, King of the Yehudim!'

19. കോല്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ തലയില് അടിച്ചു, അവനെ തുപ്പി, മുട്ടുകുത്തി അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

19. They struck his head with a reed, and spat on him, and bowing their knees, did homage to him.

20. അങ്ങനെ അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ച ശേഷം അവര് രക്താംബരം നീക്കി സ്വന്ത വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു അവനെ ക്രൂശിപ്പാന് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

20. When they had mocked him, they took the purple off of him, and put his own garments on him. They led him out to crucify him.

21. അലക്സന്തരിന്റെയും രൂഫൊസിന്റെയും അപ്പനായി വയലില് നിന്നു വരുന്ന കുറേനക്കാരനായ ശിമോനെ അവന്റെ ക്രൂശ് ചുമപ്പാന് അവര് നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു.

21. They compelled one passing by, coming from the country, Shim`on of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to go with them, that he might bear his cross.

22. തലയോടിടം എന്നര്ത്ഥമുള്ള ഗൊല്ഗോഥാ എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി;

22. They brought him to the place called Gulgolta, which is, being interpreted, 'The place of a skull.'

23. കണ്ടിവെണ്ണ കലര്ത്തിയ വീഞ്ഞു അവന്നു കൊടുത്തു; അവനോ വാങ്ങിയില്ല.

23. They offered him wine mixed with myrrh to drink, but he didn't take it.

26. The superscription of his accusation was written over him, 'THE KING OF THE YEHUDIM.'

27. With him they crucified two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.

28. The Scripture was fulfilled, which says, 'He was numbered with transgressors.'

29. Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, 'Ha! You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days,

30. save yourself, and come down from the cross!'

31. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും അവനെ പരിഹസിച്ചുഇവന് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ രക്ഷിച്ചു തന്നെത്താന് രക്ഷിപ്പാന് വഹിയാ.

31. Likewise, also the chief Kohanim mocking among themselves with the Sofrim said, 'He saved others. He can't save himself.

32. നാം കണ്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ക്രിസ്തു എന്ന യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവു ഇപ്പോള് ക്രൂശില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരട്ടെ എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു; അവനോടുകൂടെ ക്രൂശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരും അവനെ പഴിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. Let the Messiah, the King of Yisra'el, now come down from the cross, that we may see and believe him.' Those who were crucified with him insulted him.

33. ആറാം മണിനേരമായപ്പോള് ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തോളം ദേശത്തു എല്ലാ ഇരുട്ടു ഉണ്ടായി. ഒമ്പതാം മണിനേരത്തു യേശുഎന്റെ ദൈവമേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്നെ കൈവിട്ടതു എന്തു എന്നു അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള എലോഹീ, എലോഹീ ലമ്മാ ശബ്ബക്താനീ എന്നു അത്യുച്ചത്തില് നിലവിളിച്ചു.

33. When the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

35. Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, 'Behold, he is calling Eliyah.'

36. യേശു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു.

36. One ran, and filling a sponge full of vinegar, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, 'Let him be. Let's see whether Eliyah comes to take him down.'

37. Yeshua cried out with a loud voice, and gave up the spirit.

38. The veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.

39. സ്ത്രീകളും ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവരില് മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും ചെറിയ യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മ മറിയയും ചെറിയ യാക്കോബിന്റെയും യോസെയുടെയും അമ്മ മറിയയും ശലോമയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

39. When the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God!'

40. There were also women watching from afar, among whom were both Miryam from Magdala, and Miryam the mother of Ya`akov the less and of Yosi, and Shalomit;

41. വൈകുന്നേരമായപ്പോള് ശബ്ബത്തിന്റെ തലനാളായ ഒരുക്കനാള് ആകകൊണ്ടു ശ്രേഷ്ഠമന്ത്രിയും ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ കാത്തിരുന്നവനുമായ അരിമത്ഥ്യയിലെ യോസേഫ് വന്നു ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പീലാത്തൊസിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ ശരീരം ചോദിച്ചു.

41. who, when he was in the Galil, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Yerushalayim.

42. അവന് മരിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞുവോ എന്നു പീലാത്തൊസ് ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു ശതാധിപനെ വിളിച്ചുഅവന് മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഒട്ടുനേരമായോ എന്നു ശതാധിപനോടു വസ്തുത ചോദിച്ചറിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഉടല് യോസേഫിന്നു നല്കി.

42. When evening had now come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Shabbat,

43. Yosef of Ramatayim, a prominent council member who also himself was looking for the Kingdom of God, came. He boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for Yeshua#s body.

44. അവനെ വെച്ച ഇടം മഗ്ദലക്കാരത്തി മറിയയും യോസെയുടെ അമ്മ മറിയയും നോക്കിക്കണ്ടു.

44. Pilate marveled if he were already dead; and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead long.
