1. യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു പരീശന്മാരും ചില ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു കൂടി.

1. Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered together to Him, having come from Jerusalem.

2. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ചിലര് ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത എന്നുവെച്ചാല്, കഴുകാത്ത, കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നതു അവര് കണ്ടു.

2. Now when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with ceremonially unclean, that is, with unwashed [hands], they found fault.

3. പരീശന്മാരും യെഹൂദന്മാര് ഒക്കെയും പൂര്വ്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം പ്രമാണിച്ചു കൈ നന്നായി കഴുകീട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല.

3. For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands with [their] fist, holding the tradition of the elders.

4. ചന്തയില് നിന്നു വരുമ്പോഴും കുളിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല. പാനപാത്രം, ഭരണി, ചെമ്പു എന്നിവ കഴുകുക മുതലായി പലതും പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നതു അവര്ക്കും ചട്ടമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

4. And [coming] from the marketplace, unless they bathe, they do not eat. And there are many other things which they have received [by tradition], like the washing of cups and pitchers, copper vessels and couches.

5. അങ്ങനെ പരീശന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരുംനിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് പൂര്വ്വന്മാരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കാതെ ശുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത കൈകൊണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

5. Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, 'Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but they eat bread with unwashed hands?'

6. അവന് അവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതുകപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു യെശയ്യാവു പ്രവചിച്ചതു ശരി“ഈ ജനം അധരംകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; എങ്കിലും അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം എങ്കല് നിന്നു ദൂരത്തു അകന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. ”

6. And answering He said to them, 'Well did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: 'This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

7. “മാനുഷകല്പനകളായ ഉപദേശങ്ങളെ അവര് ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ വ്യര്ത്ഥമായി ഭജിക്കുന്നു”. എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.
യെശയ്യാ 29:13

7. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'

8. നിങ്ങള് ദൈവകല്പന വിട്ടുംകളഞ്ഞു മനുഷ്യരുടെ സന്പ്രദായം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു;

8. For having left the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men--the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other similar things you do.'

9. പിന്നെ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനിങ്ങളുടെ സംപ്രദായം പ്രമാണിപ്പാന് വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങള് ദൈവകല്പന തള്ളിക്കളയുന്നതു നന്നായി.

9. And He said to them, 'Well do you set aside the commandment of God, so that you may keep your tradition.

10. നിന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും ബഹുമാനിക്ക എന്നും അപ്പനെയോ അമ്മയെയോ പ്രാകുന്നവന് മരിക്കേണം എന്നു മോശെ പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

10. For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother'; and, 'Whoever speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.'

11. നിങ്ങളോ ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോനിനക്കു എന്നാല് ഉപകാരമായി വരേണ്ടതു വഴിപാടു എന്നര്ത്ഥമുള്ള കൊര്ബ്ബാന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞാല് മതി എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

11. But you say, 'If a man says to [his] father or to [his] mother, 'Whatever you might be profited by me is Corban'--' (that is, a gift),

12. തന്റെ അപ്പന്നോ അമ്മെക്കോ മേലാല് ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് അവനെ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

12. then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or for his mother,

13. ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങള് ഉപദേശിക്കുന്ന സന്പ്രദായത്താല് ദൈവകല്പന ദുര്ബ്ബലമാക്കുന്നു; ഈ വക പലതും നിങ്ങള് ചെയ്യുന്നു.

13. [thus] nullifying the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do.'

14. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടുഎല്ലാവരും കേട്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് .

14. And having summoned all the crowd, He said to them, 'Hear Me, all [of you] and understand:

15. പുറത്തുനിന്നു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്ന യാതൊന്നിന്നും അവനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴികയില്ല; അവനില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു

15. There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

16. (കേള്പ്പാന് ചെവി ഉള്ളവന് കേള്ക്കട്ടെ) എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!'

17. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെ വിട്ടു വീട്ടില് ചെന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ആ ഉപമയെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

17. When He had entered a house [away] from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him about the parable.

18. അവന് അവരോടുഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളും ബോധമില്ലാത്തവരോ? പുറത്തു നിന്നു മനുഷ്യന്റെ അകത്തു ചെല്ലുന്ന യാതൊന്നിന്നും അവനെ അശുദ്ധമാക്കുവാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ?

18. So He said to them, 'Are you also without understanding? Do you not understand that everything entering a man from outside cannot defile him,

19. അതു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അല്ല വയറ്റിലത്രേ ചെല്ലുന്നതു; പിന്നെ മറപ്പുരയിലേക്കു പോകുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെ സകലഭോജ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ശുദ്ധിവരുത്തുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. because it does not enter into his heart but into the stomach, and passes into the latrine, [thus] purifying all foods?'

20. മനുഷ്യനില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുന്നതത്രേ മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നതു;

20. And He said, 'That which comes out of a man, that defiles a man.

21. അകത്തുനിന്നു, മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തില്നിന്നു തന്നേ, ദുശ്ചിന്ത, വ്യഭിചാരം, പരസംഗം,

21. For from within, out of the heart of men, come forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22. കുലപാതകം, മോഷണം, അത്യാഗ്രഹം, ദുഷ്ടത, ചതി, ദുഷ്കര്മ്മം, വിടക്കുകണ്ണു, ദൂഷണം, അഹങ്കാരം, മൂഢത എന്നിവ പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

22. thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, arrogance, foolishness.

23. ഈ ദോഷങ്ങള് എല്ലാം അകത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മനുഷ്യനെ അശുദ്ധനാക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

23. All these evil things come from within and defile a man.'

24. അവന് അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു സീദോന്റെയും സോരിന്റെയും അതിര്നാട്ടില് ചെന്നു ഒരു വീട്ടില് കടന്നു; ആരും അറിയരുതു എന്നു ഇച്ഛിച്ചു എങ്കിലും മറഞ്ഞിരിപ്പാന് സാധിച്ചില്ല.

24. From there He arose and He went away into the region of Tyre and Sidon. And having entered into a house, He wanted no one to know it, but He was not able to escape notice.

25. അശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ച ചെറിയ മകള് ഉള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീ അവന്റെ വസ്തുത കേട്ടിട്ടു വന്നു അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വീണു.

25. For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.

26. അവള് സുറൊഫൊയീക്യ ജാതിയിലുള്ള ഒരു യവനസ്ത്രീ ആയിരുന്നു; തന്റെ മകളില് നിന്നു ഭൂതത്തെ പുറത്താക്കുവാന് അവള് അവനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

26. Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by race, and she was asking Him to cast the demon out from her daughter.

27. യേശു അവളോടുമുമ്പെ മക്കള്ക്കു തൃപ്തി വരട്ടെ; മക്കളുടെ അപ്പം എടുത്തു ചെറുനായ്ക്കള്ക്കു ഇട്ടുകൊടുക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. But Jesus said to her, 'Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.'

28. അവള് അവനോടുഅതേ, കര്ത്താവേ, ചെറുനായ്കളും മേശെക്കു കീഴെ കുട്ടികളുടെ അപ്പനുറുക്കുകളെ തിന്നുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28. And she answered and said to Him, 'Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs underneath the table eat from the crumbs of the children.'

29. അവന് അവളോടുഈ വാക്കുനിമിത്തം പൊയ്ക്കൊള്കഭൂതം നിന്റെ മകളെ വിട്ടു പോയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Then He said to her, 'Because of this saying, go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.'

30. അവള് വീട്ടില് വന്നാറെ, മകള് കിടക്കമേല് കിടക്കുന്നതും ഭൂതം വിട്ടുപോയതും കണ്ടു.

30. And going away to her house, she found the demon having gone out, and her daughter having been placed on the bed.

31. അവന് വീണ്ടും സോരിന്റെ അതിര് വിട്ടു സീദോന് വഴിയായി ദെക്കപ്പൊലിദേശത്തിന്റെ നടുവില്കൂടി ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു വന്നു.

31. Again, coming out from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He went to the Sea of Galilee, in the midst of the region of Decapolis.

32. അവിടെ അവര് വിക്കനായോരു ചെകിടനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു, അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

32. Then they brought to Him a deaf man impeded in speech, and they begged Him that He would lay His hand upon him.

33. അവന് അവനെ പുരുഷാരത്തില്നിന്നു വേറിട്ടു കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവന്റെ ചെവിയില് വിരല് ഇട്ടു, തുപ്പി അവന്റെ നാവിനെ തൊട്ടു,

33. And when he had taken him aside from the crowd privately, He put His fingers in his ears, and having spit, He touched his tongue.

34. സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു നോക്കി നെടുവീര്പ്പിട്ടു അവനോടുതുറന്നുവരിക എന്നു അര്ത്ഥമുള്ള എഫഥാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. Then looking up into heaven, He sighed, and said to him, 'Ephphatha,' that is, 'Be opened.'

35. ഉടനെ അവന്റെ ചെവി തുറന്നു നാവിന്റെ കെട്ടും അഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ശരിയായി സംസാരിച്ചു.

35. Immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking correctly.

36. ഇതു ആരോടും പറയരുതു എന്നു അവരോടു കല്പിച്ചു എങ്കിലും അവന് എത്ര കല്പിച്ചുവോ അത്രയും അവര് പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി

36. And He ordered them that they should tell no one; but the more He ordered them, the more exceedingly they would proclaim it.

37. അവന് സകലവും നന്നായി ചെയ്തു; ചെകിടരെ കേള്ക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു; ഊമരെ സംസാരിക്കുമാറാക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അത്യന്തം വിസ്മയിച്ചു.

37. And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, 'He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.'
