1. ആ ദിവസങ്ങളില് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പുരുഷാരം ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കെ അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കല് വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു

1. In those dayes, when there was a very great multitude, and had nothing to eate, Iesus called his disciples to him, and said vnto them,

2. ഈ പുരുഷാരം ഇപ്പോള് മൂന്നു നാളായി എന്നോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവര്ക്കും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഒന്നും ഇല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു അവരോടു അലിവു തോന്നുന്നു;

2. I haue compassion on the multitude, because they haue nowe continued with mee three dayes, and haue nothing to eate.

3. ഞാന് അവരെ പട്ടിണിയായി വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചാല് അവര് വഴിയില് വെച്ചു തളര്ന്നു പോകും; അവരില് ചിലര് ദൂരത്തുനിന്നുവന്നവരല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And if I sende them away fasting to their owne houses, they woulde faint by the way: for some of them came from farre.

4. അതിന്നു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്ഇവര്ക്കും ഇവിടെ മരുഭൂമിയില് അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു തൃപ്തിവരുത്തുവാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

4. Then his disciples answered him, Whence can a man satisfie these with bread here in the wildernes?

5. അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങളുടെ പക്കല് എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And hee asked them, Howe many loaues haue ye? And they said, Seuen.

6. അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തോടു നിലത്തു ഇരിപ്പാന് കല്പിച്ചു; പിന്നെ ആ ഏഴപ്പം എടുത്തു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്തു നുറുക്കി, ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ പക്കല് വിളമ്പുവാന് കൊടുത്തു; അവര് പുരുഷാരത്തിനു വിളമ്പി.

6. Then he commanded the multitude to sit downe on the grounde: and hee tooke the seuen loaues, and gaue thankes, brake them, and gaue to his disciples to set before them, and they did set them before the people.

7. ചെറിയ മീനും കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതും അവന് അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിട്ടു, വിളമ്പുവാന് പറഞ്ഞു.

7. They had also a few small fishes: and when he had giuen thankes, he commanded them also to be set before them.

8. അവര് തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി; ശേഷിച്ച കഷണങ്ങള് ഏഴു വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു.

8. So they did eate, and were sufficed, and they tooke vp of the broken meate that was left, seuen baskets full.

9. അവര് ഏകദേശം നാലായിരം പേര് ആയിരുന്നു.

9. (And they that had eaten, were about foure thousand) so he sent them away.

10. അവന് അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ച ഉടനെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കൂടെ പടകു കയറി ദല്മനൂഥ അംശങ്ങളില് എത്തി.

10. And anon he entred into a ship with his disciples, and came into the parts of Dalmanutha.

11. അനന്തരം പരീശന്മാര് വന്നു അവനെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടു ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു ഒരു അടയാളം അന്വേഷിച്ചു അവനുമായി തര്ക്കിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

11. And the Pharises came foorth, and began to dispute with him, seeking of him a signe from heauen, and tempting him.

12. അവന് ആത്മാവില്ഞരങ്ങിഈ തലമുറ അടയാളം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഈ തലമുറെക്കു അടയാളം ലഭിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

12. Then hee sighed deepely in his spirit, and saide, Why doeth this generation seeke a signe? Verely I say vnto you, a signe shall not be giuen vnto this generation.

13. അവരെ വിട്ടു പിന്നെയും പടകു കയറി അക്കരെക്കു കടന്നു.

13. So he left them, and went into the ship againe, and departed to the other side.

14. അവര് അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുപോരുവാന് മറന്നു പോയിരുന്നു; പടകില് അവരുടെ പക്കല് ഒരു അപ്പം മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.

14. And they had forgotten to take bread, neither had they in the shippe with them, but one loafe.

15. അവന് അവരോടുനോക്കുവിന് , പരീശരുടെ പുളിച്ചമാവും ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ പുളിച്ചമാവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

15. And he charged them, saying, Take heede, and beware of the leauen of the Pharises, and of the leauen of Herod.

16. നമുക്കു അപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് എന്നു അവര് തമ്മില് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

16. And they reasoned among themselues, saying, It is, because we haue no bread.

17. അതു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅപ്പം ഇല്ലായ്കയാല് നിങ്ങള് തമ്മില് പറയുന്നതു എന്തു? ഇപ്പോഴും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവോ?

17. And when Iesus knew it, he said vnto them, Why reason you thus, because ye haue no bread? perceiue ye not yet, neither vnderstande? haue ye your hearts yet hardened?

18. കണ്ണു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കണുന്നില്ലയോ? ചെവി ഉണ്ടായിട്ടും കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഔര്ക്കുംന്നതുമില്ലയോ?

18. Haue yee eyes, and see not? and haue yee eares, and heare not? and doe ye not remember?

19. അയ്യായിരംപേര്ക്കും ഞാന് അഞ്ചു അപ്പം നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര കൊട്ട നിറച്ചടുത്തു? പന്ത്രണ്ടു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. When I brake the fiue loaues among fiue thousand, how many baskets full of broken meate tooke ye vp? They said vnto him, Twelue.

20. നാലായിരം പേര്ക്കും ഏഴു നുറുക്കിയപ്പോള് കഷണങ്ങള് എത്ര വട്ടി നിറച്ചെടുത്തു? ഏഴു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ അവന് അവരോടുഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങള് ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And when I brake seuen among foure thousande, howe many baskets of the leauings of broken meate tooke ye vp? And they said, Seuen.

21. അവര് ബേത്ത് സയിദയില് എത്തിയപ്പോള് ഒരു കുരുടനെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അവനെ തൊടേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

21. Then he saide vnto them, Howe is it that ye vnderstand not?

22. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചുനീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

22. And hee came to Bethsaida, and they brought a blinde man vnto him, and desired him to touch him.

23. അവന് കുരുടന്റെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു അവനെ ഊരിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി അവന്റെ കണ്ണില് തുപ്പി അവന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചു; നീ വല്ലതും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. Then he tooke the blinde by the hand, and ledde him out of the towne, and spat in his eyes, and put his handes vpon him, and asked him, if he sawe ought.

24. അവന് മേല്പോട്ടു നോക്കിഞാന് മനുഷ്യരെ കാണുന്നു; അവര് നടക്കുന്നതു മരങ്ങള് പോലെയത്രേ കാണുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And he looked vp, and said, I see men: for I see them walking like trees.

25. പിന്നെയും അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് കൈ വെച്ചാറെ അവന് സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു മിഴിച്ചുനോക്കി എല്ലാം സ്പഷ്ടമായി കണ്ടു.

25. After that, he put his hands againe vpon his eyes, and made him looke againe. And hee was restored to his sight, and sawe euery man a farre off clearely.

26. നീ ഊരില് കടക്കപോലും അരുതു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു അയച്ചു.

26. And hee sent him home to his house, saying, Neither goe into the towne, nor tell it to any in the towne.

27. അനന്തരം യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി ഫിലിപ്പൊസിന്റെ കൈസര്യകൂ അടുത്ത ഊരുകളിലേക്കു പോയി; വഴിയില്വെച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുജനങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

27. And Iesus went out, and his disciples into the townes of Cesarea Philippi. And by the way hee asked his disciples, saying vnto them, Whome doe men say that I am?

28. യോഹന്നാന് സ്നാപകനെന്നു ചിലര്, ഏലീയാവെന്നു ചിലര്, പ്രവാചകന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തന് എന്നു മറ്റു ചിലര് എന്നു അവര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

28. And they answered, Some say, Iohn Baptist: and some, Elias: and some, one of the Prophets.

29. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്നെ ആര് എന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുനീ ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പത്രൊസ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And he said vnto them, But whome say ye that I am? Then Peter answered, and saide vnto him, Thou art that Christ.

30. പിന്നെ തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ആരോടും പറയരുതെന്നു അവന് അവരോടു ഖണ്ഡിതമായി പറഞ്ഞു.

30. And he sharpely charged them, that concerning him they should tell no man.

31. മനുഷ്യപുത്രന് പലതും സഹിക്കയും മൂപ്പന്മാരും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും അവനെ തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലുകയും മൂന്നു നാള് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ഉയിര്ത്തെഴുന്നേല്ക്കയും വേണം എന്നു അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

31. Then hee began to teache them that the Sonne of man must suffer many things, and should be reproued of the Elders, and of the hie Priestes, and of the Scribes, and be slaine, and within three dayes rise againe.

32. അവന് ഈ വാക്കു തുറന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് പത്രൊസ് അവനെ വേറിട്ടു കൊണ്ടുപോയി ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി;

32. And he spake that thing boldly. Then Peter tooke him aside, and began to rebuke him.

33. അവനോ തിരിഞ്ഞു നോക്കി ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു പത്രൊസിനെ ശാസിച്ചുസാത്താനേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടു പോ; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റേതല്ല മനുഷ്യരുടെതത്രേ കരുതുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

33. Then he turned backe, and looked on his disciples, and rebuked Peter, saying, Get thee behinde me, Satan: for thou vnderstandest not the things that are of God, but the things that are of men.

34. പിന്നെ അവന് പുരുഷാരത്തെയും തന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെയും അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഒരുവന് എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അവന് തന്നെത്താന് ത്യജിച്ചു തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

34. And hee called the people vnto him with his disciples, and saide vnto them, Whosoeuer will follow me, let him forsake himselfe, and take vp his crosse, and follow me.

35. ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിച്ചാല് അതിനെ കളയു; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെയും സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെയും നിമിത്തം തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാല് അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

35. For whosoeuer will saue his life, shall lose it: but whosoeuer shall lose his life for my sake and the Gospels, he shall saue it.

36. ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് സര്വ്വലോകവും നേടുകയും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളകയും ചെയ്താല് അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

36. For what shall it profite a man, though he should winne the whole world, if he lose his soule?

37. അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി മനുഷ്യന് എന്തൊരു മറുവില കൊടുക്കും;

37. Or what exchange shall a man giue for his soule?

38. വ്യഭിചാരവും പാപവും ഉള്ള ഈ തലമുറയില് ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നാണിച്ചാല് അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ തേജസ്സില് വിശുദ്ധ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരുമ്പോള് നാണിക്കും;

38. For whosoeuer shall be ashamed of mee, and of my wordes among this adulterous and sinfull generation, of him shall the Sonne of man be ashamed also, when he commeth in the glorie of his Father with the holy Angels.
