1. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി കെദ്രോന് തോട്ടിന്നു അക്കരെക്കു പോയി. അവിടെ ഒരു തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതില് അവനും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കടന്നു.

1. When Iesus had spoken these wordes he wet forth with his disciples over the broke Cedron where was a garden into the which he entred with his disciples.

2. അവിടെ യേശു പലപ്പോഴും ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പോയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത യൂദയും ആ സ്ഥലം അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.

2. Iudas also which betrayed him knewe the place: for Iesus ofte tymes resorted thyther with his disciples.

3. അങ്ങനെ യൂദാ പട്ടാളത്തെയും മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും പരീശന്മാരും അയച്ച ചേവകരെയും കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടു ദീപട്ടിപന്തങ്ങളും ആയുധങ്ങളുമായി അവിടെ വന്നു.

3. Iudas then after he had receaved abonde of men and ministres of the hye Prestes and Pharises came thyther with lanterns and fyerbrondes and wepens.

4. യേശു തനിക്കു നേരിടുവാനുള്ളതു എല്ലാം അറിഞ്ഞു പുറത്തുചെന്നുനിങ്ങള് ആരെ തിരയുന്നു എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

4. Then Iesus knowynge all thinges that shuld come on him went forth and sayde vnto them: whom seke ye?

5. നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ എന്നു അവര് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള്അതു ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു; അവനെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുന്ന യൂദയും അവരോടുകൂടെ നിന്നിരുന്നു.

5. They answered him: Iesus of Nazareth. Iesus sayde vnto them: I am he. Iudas also which betrayed him stode with them.

6. ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള് അവര് പിന് വാങ്ങി നിലത്തുവീണു.

6. But assone as he had sayd vnto them I am he they went backe wardes and fell to the grounde.

7. നിങ്ങള് ആരെ തിരയുന്നു എന്നു അവന് പിന്നെയും അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര്നസറായനായ യേശുവിനെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

7. And he axed the agayne: whome seke ye? They sayde:Iesus of Nazareth.

8. ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; എന്നെ ആകുന്നു തിരയുന്നതെങ്കില് ഇവര് പോയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Iesus answered I sayde vnto you I am he. If ye seke me let these goo their waye.

9. നീ എനിക്കു തന്നവരില് ആരും നഷ്ടമായിപ്പോയിട്ടില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കിന്നു ഇതിനാല് നിവൃത്തിവന്നു.

9. That ye sayinge might be fulfilled which he spake: of the which thou gavest me have I not lost one.

10. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് തനിക്കുള്ള വാള് ഊരി മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസനെ വെട്ടി അവന്റെ വലത്തുകാതു അറുത്തു കളഞ്ഞു; ആ ദാസന്നു മല്ക്കൊസ് എന്നു പേര്.

10. Simon Peter had a swearde and drue it and smote the hye prestes servaunt and cut of his ryght eare. The servauntes name was Malchas.

11. യേശു പത്രൊസിനോടുവാള് ഉറയില് ഇടുക; പിതാവു എനിക്കു തന്ന പാനപാത്രം ഞാന് കുടിക്കേണ്ടയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Then sayde Iesus vnto Peter: put vp thy swearde into ye sheath: shall I not drinke of ye cup which my father hath geven me?

12. പട്ടാളവും സഹസ്രാധിപനും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ചേവകരും യേശുവിനെ പിടിച്ചുകെട്ടി

12. Then the copany and the captayne and the ministres of of the Iewes toke Iesus and bounde him

13. ഒന്നാമതു ഹന്നാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി; അവന് ആ സംവത്സരത്തെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അമ്മായപ്പന് ആയിരുന്നു.

13. and led him awaye to Anna fyrst: For he was fatherelawe vnto Cayphas which was ye hye preste that same yeare.

14. കയ്യഫാവോജനത്തിനുവേണ്ടി ഒരു മനുഷ്യന് മരിക്കുന്നതു നന്നു എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരോടു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞവന് തന്നേ.

14. Cayphas was he that gave counsell to ye Iewes that it was expediet that one man shuld dye for the people.

15. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസും മറ്റൊരു ശിഷ്യനും യേശുവിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ചെന്നു; ആ ശിഷ്യന് മഹാപുരോഹിതന്നു പരിചയമുള്ളവന് ആകയാല് യേശുവിനോടുകൂടെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ നടുമുറ്റത്തു കടന്നു.

15. And Simon Peter folowed Iesus and another disciple: that disciple was knowen of ye hye preste and went in with Iesus into the pallys of the hye preste.

16. പത്രൊസ് വാതില്ക്കല് പുറത്തു നിലക്കുമ്പോള്, മഹാപുരോഹിതന്നു പരിചയമുള്ള മറ്റെ ശിഷ്യന് പുറത്തുവന്നു വാതില്കാവല്ക്കാരത്തിയോടു പറഞ്ഞു പത്രൊസിനെ അകത്തു കയറ്റി.

16. But Peter stode at the dore with out. Then went out that other disciple which was knowen vnto the hye preste and spake to the damsell that kept the dore and brought in Peter.

17. വാതില് കാക്കുന്ന ബാല്യക്കാരത്തി പത്രൊസിനോടുനീയും ഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഒരുവനോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അല്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Then sayde ye damsell that kept the dore vnto Peter: Arte not thou one of this mannes disciples? He sayde: I am not.

18. അന്നു കുളിര് ആകകൊണ്ടു ദാസന്മാരും ചേവകരും കനല് കൂട്ടി തീ കാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; പത്രൊസും അവരോടുകൂടെ തീ കാഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടുനിന്നു.

18. The servauntes and the ministres stode there and had made a fyre of coles: for it was colde: and they warmed them selves. Peter also stode amonge them and warmed him selfe.

19. മഹാപുരോഹിതന് യേശുവിനോടു അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. The hye preste axed Iesus of his disciples and of his doctrine.

20. അതിന്നു യേശുഞാന് ലോകത്തോടു പരസ്യമായി സംസാരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലും എല്ലാ യെഹൂദന്മാരും കൂടുന്ന ദൈവാലയത്തിലും ഞാന് എപ്പോഴും ഉപദേശിച്ചു;

20. Iesus answered him: I spake openly in ye worlde. I ever taught in ye synagoge and in the temple whyther all ye Iewes resorted and in secrete have I sayde nothynge:

21. രഹസ്യമായി ഒന്നും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. നീ എന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞാന് സംസാരിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നു കേട്ടവരോടു ചോദിക്ക; ഞാന് പറഞ്ഞതു അവര് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. Why axest thou me? Axe them whiche hearde me what I sayde vnto the. Beholde they can tell what I sayde.

22. അവന് ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുമ്പോള് ചേവകരില് അരികെ നിന്ന ഒരുത്തന് മഹാപുരോഹിതനോടു ഇങ്ങനെയോ ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യേശുവിന്റെ കന്നത്തു ഒന്നടിച്ചു.
മീഖാ 5:1

22. Whe he had thus spoken one of ye ministres which stode by smote Iesus on the face sayinge: answerest thou the hyepreste so?

23. യേശു അവനോടുഞാന് ദോഷമായി സംസാരിച്ചു എങ്കില് തെളിവു കൊടുക്ക; അല്ലെങ്കില് എന്നെ തല്ലുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. Iesus answered him. If I have evyll spoke beare witnes of ye evyll: yf I have well spoke why smytest thou me?

24. ഹന്നാവു അവനെ കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടവനായി മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

24. And Annas sent him bounde vnto Caiphas ye hye preste.

25. ശിമോന് പത്രൊസ് തീ കാഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുമ്പോള്നീയും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരില് ഒരുത്തനല്ലയോ എന്നു ചിലര് അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു; അല്ല എന്നു അവന് മറുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു.

25. Simon Peter stode and warmed him selfe. And they sayde vnto him: arte not thou also one of his disciples? He denyed it and sayde: I am not.

26. മഹാപുരോഹിതന്റെ ദാസന്മാരില് വെച്ച പത്രൊസ് കാതറുത്തവന്റെ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരനായ ഒരുത്തന് ഞാന് നിന്നെ അവനോടുകൂടെ തോട്ടത്തില് കണ്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. One of the servauntes of the hye preste (his cosyn whose eare Peter smote of) sayde vnto him: dyd not I se the in the garden with him?

27. പത്രൊസ് പിന്നെയും മറുത്തുപറഞ്ഞു; ഉടനെ കോഴി ക്കുകി!

27. Peter denyed it agayne: and immediatly the cocke crewe.

28. പുലര്ച്ചെക്കു അവര് യേശുവിനെ കയ്യഫാവിന്റെ അടുക്കല് നിന്നു ആസ്ഥാനത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; തങ്ങള് അശുദ്ധമാകാതെ പെസഹ കഴിപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ആസ്ഥാനത്തില് കടന്നില്ല.

28. Then led they Iesus fro Cayphas into the hall of iudgement. It was in the mornynge and they them selves went not into the iudgement hall lest they shuld be defyled but that they myght eate the paschall lambe.

29. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തുവന്നുഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ നേരെ എന്തു കുറ്റം ബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

29. Pylate then went out vnto the and sayde: what accusacion bringe ye agaynste this man?

30. കുറ്റക്കാരന് അല്ലാഞ്ഞു എങ്കില് ഞങ്ങള് അവനെ നിന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

30. They answered and sayd vnto him. If he were not an evyll doar we wolde not have delyvered him vnto the.

31. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി നിങ്ങളുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം വിധിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് അവനോടുമരണശിക്ഷെക്കുള്ള അധികാരം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. Then sayd Pylate vnto the: take ye him and iudge him after youre awne lawe. Then the Iewes sayde vnto him. It is not lawfull for vs to put eny ma to deeth.

32. യേശു താന് മരിപ്പാനുള്ള മരണവിധം സൂചിപ്പിച്ചവാക്കിന്നു ഇതിനാല് നിവൃത്തിവന്നു.

32. That ye wordes of Iesus myght be fulfilled which he spake signifyinge what deeth he shuld dye.

33. പീലാത്തൊസ് പിന്നെയും ആസ്ഥാനത്തില് ചെന്നു യേശുവിനെ വിളിച്ചുനീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

33. Then Pylate entred into the iudgemet hall agayne and called Iesus and sayd vnto him: arte thou the kynge of ye Iewes?

34. അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായി യേശുഇതു നീ സ്വയമായി പറയുന്നതോ മറ്റുള്ളവര് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു നിന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

34. Iesus answered: sayst thou that of thy selfe or dyd other tell it the of me?

35. പീലാത്തൊസ് അതിന്നു ഉത്തരമായിഞാന് യെഹൂദനോ? നിന്റെ ജനവും മഹാപുരോഗിതന്മാരും നിന്നെ നിന്റെ പക്കല് ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ എന്തു ചെയ്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു യേശു
സെഖർയ്യാവു 13:6

35. Pylate answered: Am I a Iewe? Thyne awne nacion and hye prestes have delyvered ye vnto me. What hast thou done?

36. എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികമല്ല; എന്നു എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികം ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്നെ യഹൂദന്മാരുടെ കയ്യില് ഏല്പിക്കാതവണ്ണം എന്റെ ചേവകര് പോരാടുമായിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് എന്റെ രാജ്യം ഐഹികമല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

36. Iesus answered: my kyngdome is not of this worlde. Yf my kyngdome were of this worlde then wolde my ministres suerly fight yt I shuld not be delyvered to ye Iewes but now is my kyngdome not fro hence.

37. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുഎന്നാല് നീ രാജാവു തന്നേയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു യേശുനീ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ ഞാന് രാജാവുതന്നേ; സത്യത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിനില്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് ജനിച്ചു അതിന്നായി ലോകത്തില് വന്നുമിരിക്കുന്നു; സത്യതല്പരനായവന് എല്ലാം എന്റെ വാക്കുകേള്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
യെശയ്യാ 32:1

37. Pylate sayde vnto him: Arte thou a kynge then? Iesus answered: Thou sayst yt I am a kynge. For this cause was I borne and for this cause came I into ye worlde yt I shuld beare witnes vnto the trueth. And all that are of ye trueth heare my voyce.

38. പീലാത്തൊസ് അവനോടുസത്യം എന്നാല് എന്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു പിന്നെയും യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു ചെന്നു അവരോടുഞാന് അവനില് ഒരു കുറ്റവും കാണുന്നില്ല.

38. Pilate sayde vnto him: what thinge is trueth? And when he had sayd yt he went out agayne vnto the Iewes and sayde vnto them: I fynde in him no cause at all.

39. എന്നാല് പെസഹയില് ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഒരുത്തനെ വിട്ടുതരിക പതിവുണ്ടല്ലോ; യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവിനെ വിട്ടുതരുന്നതു സമ്മതമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവര് പിന്നെയും

39. Ye have a custome that I shuld delyver you one lowsse at ester. Will ye that I lowse vnto you the kynge of ye Iewes.

40. ഇവനെ വേണ്ടാ; ബറബ്ബാസിനെ മതി എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു; ബറബ്ബാസോ കവര്ച്ചക്കാരന് ആയിരുന്നു.

40. Then cryed they all agayne sayinge: Not him but Barrabas that Barrabas was a robber.
