1. അവന് കടന്നുപോകുമ്പോള് പിറവിയിലെ കുരുടനായോരു മനുഷ്യനെ കണ്ടു.

1. And when he went on his way, he saw a man blind from birth.

2. അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനോടുറബ്ബീ, ഇവന് കുരുടനായി പിറക്കത്തക്കവണ്ണം ആര് പാപം ചെയ്തു? ഇവനോ ഇവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

2. And his disciples put a question to him, saying, Master, was it because of this man's sin, or the sin of his father and mother, that he has been blind from birth?

3. അതിന്നു യേശുഅവന് എങ്കിലും അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെങ്കിലും പാപം ചെയ്തിട്ടല്ല, ദൈവപ്രവൃത്തി അവങ്കല് വെളിവാകേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ.

3. Jesus said in answer, It was not because of his sin, or because of his father's or mother's; it was so that the works of God might be seen openly in him.

4. എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി പകല് ഉള്ളേടത്തോളം നാം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ആര്ക്കും പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചുകൂടാത്ത രാത്രി വരുന്നു;

4. While it is day we have to do the works of him who sent me: the night comes when no work may be done.

5. ഞാന് ലോകത്തില് ഇരിക്കുമ്പോള് ലോകത്തിന്റെ വെളിച്ചം ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

5. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6. ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് നിലത്തു തുപ്പി തുപ്പല്കൊണ്ടു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി ചേറു അവന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് പൂശി

6. Having said these words, he put earth, mixed with water from his mouth, on the man's eyes,

7. നീ ചെന്നു ശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില് കഴുകുക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ശിലോഹാം എന്നതിന്നു അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവന് എന്നര്ത്ഥം. അവന് പോയി കഴുകി, കണ്ണു കാണുന്നവനായി മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

7. And said to him, Go and make yourself clean in the bath of Siloam (the sense of the name is, Sent). So he went away and, after washing, came back able to see.

8. അയല്ക്കാരും അവനെ മുമ്പെ ഇരക്കുന്നവനായി കണ്ടവരുംഇവനല്ലയോ അവിടെ ഇരുന്നു ഭിക്ഷ യാചിച്ചവന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. Then the neighbours and others who had seen him before in the street, with his hand out for money, said, Is not this the man who got money from people?

9. അവന് തന്നേഎന്നു ചിലരും അല്ല, അവനെപ്പോലെയുള്ളവന് എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന് തന്നേ എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. Some said, It is he: others said, No, but he is like him. He said, I am he.

10. അവര് അവനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവന്

10. So they said to him, How then were your eyes made open?

11. യേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള മനുഷ്യന് ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് പൂശിശിലോഹാംകുളത്തില് ചെന്നു കഴുകുക എന്നു എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു; ഞാന് പോയി കഴുകി കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

11. His answer was: The man who is named Jesus put earth mixed with water on my eyes, and said to me, Go and make yourself clean in Siloam: so I went away and, after washing, am now able to see.

12. അവന് എവിടെ എന്നു അവര് അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

12. And they said to him, Where is he? His answer was: I have no knowledge.

13. കുരുടനായിരുന്നവനെ അവര് പരീശന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

13. They took him before the Pharisees -- this man who had been blind.

14. യേശു ചേറുണ്ടാക്കി അവന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതു ശബ്ബത്ത് നാളില് ആയിരുന്നു.

14. Now the day on which the earth was mixed by Jesus and the man's eyes were made open was the Sabbath.

15. അവന് കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു പരീശന്മാരും അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. അവന് അവരോടുഅവന് എന്റെ കണ്ണിന്മേല് ചേറു തേച്ചു ഞാന് കഴുകി; കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. So the Pharisees put more questions to him about how his eyes had been made open. And he said to them, He put earth on my eyes, and I had a wash and am able to see.

16. പരീശന്മാരില് ചിലര്ഈ മനുഷ്യന് ശബ്ബത്ത് പ്രമാണിക്കായ്കകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നവനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. മറ്റു ചിലര്പാപിയായോരു മനുഷ്യന്നു ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള അടയാളങ്ങള് ചെയ്വാന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവരുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു ഭിന്നത ഉണ്ടായി.

16. Then some of the Pharisees said, That man has not come from God, for he does not keep the Sabbath. Others said, How is it possible for a sinner to do such signs? So there was a division among them.

17. അവര് പിന്നെയും കുരുടനോടുനിന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നുഅവന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകന് എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

17. Again they said to the blind man, What have you to say about him for opening your eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.

18. കാഴ്ചപ്രാപിച്ചവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാരെ വിളിച്ചു ചോദിക്കുവോളം അവന് കുരുടനായിരുന്നു എന്നും കാഴ്ച പ്രാപിച്ചു എന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര് വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല.

18. Now the Jews had no belief in the statement that he had been blind and was now able to see, till they sent for the father and mother of the man whose eyes had been made open,

19. കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്ന നിങ്ങളുടെ മകന് ഇവന് തന്നെയോ? എന്നാല് അവന്നു ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവര് അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

19. And put the question to them, saying, Is this your son, of whom you say that he was blind at birth? how is it then that he is now able to see?

20. അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്ഇവന് ഞങ്ങളുടെ മകന് എന്നും കുരുടനായി ജനിച്ചവന് എന്നും ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

20. In answer his father and mother said, We are certain that this is our son and that he was blind at birth:

21. എന്നാല് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആര് തുറന്നു എന്നും അറിയുന്നില്ല; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന് ; അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ അവന് തന്നേ പറയും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

21. But how it is he is now able to see, or who made his eyes open, we are not able to say: put the question to him; he is old enough to give an answer for himself.

22. യെഹൂദന്മാരെ ഭയപ്പെടുകകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞതു; അവനെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറയുന്നവന് പള്ളിഭ്രഷ്ടനാകേണം എന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാര് തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞൊത്തിരുന്നു

22. They said this because of their fear of the Jews: for the Jews had come to an agreement that if any man said that Jesus was the Christ he would be put out of the Synagogue.

23. അതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ അവന്റെ അമ്മയപ്പന്മാര്അവന്നു പ്രായം ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവനോടു ചോദിപ്പിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതു.

23. That was the reason why they said, He is old enough; put the question to him.

24. കുരുടനായിരുന്ന മനുഷ്യനെ അവര് രണ്ടാമതും വിളിച്ചുദൈവത്തിന്നു മഹത്വം കൊടുക്ക; ആ മനുഷ്യന് പാപി എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. So they sent a second time for the man who had been blind and they said to him, Give glory to God: it is clear to us that this man is a sinner.

25. അതിന്നു അവന് അവന് പാപിയോ അല്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നില്ല; ഒന്നു അറിയുന്നു; ഞാന് കുരുടനായിരുന്നു, ഇപ്പോള് കണ്ണു കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

25. He said in answer, I have no knowledge if he is a sinner or not, but one thing I am certain about; I was blind, and now I see.

26. അവര് അവനോടുഅവന് നിനക്കു എന്തു ചെയ്തു? നിന്റെ കണ്ണു എങ്ങനെ തുറന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

26. Then they said to him, What did he do to you? how did he give you the use of your eyes?

27. അതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങള് ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചില്ല; വീണ്ടും കേള്പ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങള്ക്കും അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര് ആകുവാന് മനസ്സുണ്ടോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

27. His answer was: I have said it before, but your ears were shut: why would you have me say it again? is it your desire to become his disciples?

28. അപ്പോള് അവര് അവനെ ശകാരിച്ചുനീ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന് ; ഞങ്ങള് മോശെയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാര്.

28. And they were angry with him and said, You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

29. മോശെയോടു ദൈവം സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു; ഇവനോ എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. We are certain that God gave his word to Moses: but as for this man, we have no knowledge where he comes from.

30. ആ മനുഷ്യന് അവരോടുഎന്റെ കണ്ണു തുറന്നിട്ടും അവന് എവിടെനിന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയാത്തതു ആശ്ചയ്യം.

30. The man said in answer, Why, here is a strange thing! You have no knowledge where he comes from though he gave me the use of my eyes.

31. പാപികളുടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന ദൈവം കേള്ക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നും ദൈവഭക്തനായിരുന്നു അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം ചെയ്യുന്നവന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കുന്നു എന്നും നാം അറിയുന്നു.

31. We have knowledge that God does not give ear to sinners, but if any man is a worshipper of God and does his pleasure, to him God's ears are open.

32. കുരുടനായി പിറന്നവന്റെ കണ്ണു ആരെങ്കിലും തുറന്നപ്രകാരം ലോകം ഉണ്ടായതുമുതല് കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല.

32. In all the years nobody has ever before seen the eyes of a man blind from birth made open.

33. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നവന് അല്ലെങ്കില് അവന്നു ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

33. If this man did not come from God he would be unable to do anything.

34. അവര് അവനോടുനീ മുഴുവനും പാപത്തില് പിറന്നവന് ; നീ ഞങ്ങളെ ഉപദേശിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

34. Their answer was: You came to birth through sin; do you make yourself our teacher? And they put him out of the Synagogue.

35. അവനെ പുറത്താക്കി എന്നു യേശു കേട്ടു; അവനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള്നീ ദൈവപുത്രനില് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

35. It came to the ears of Jesus that they had put him out, and meeting him he said, Have you faith in the Son of man?

36. അതിന്നു അവന് യജമാനനേ, അവന് ആര് ആകുന്നു? ഞാന് അവനില് വിശ്വസിക്കാം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

36. He said in answer, And who is he, Lord? Say, so that I may have faith in him.

37. യേശു അവനോടുനീ അവനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; നിന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് അവന് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. Jesus said to him, You have seen him; it is he who is talking to you.

38. ഉടനെ അവന് കര്ത്താവേ, ഞാന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

38. And he said, Lord, I have faith. And he gave him worship.

39. കാണാത്തവര് കാണ്മാനും കാണുന്നവര് കുരുടര് ആവാനും ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായവിധിക്കായി ഞാന് ഇഹലോകത്തില് വന്നു എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു.

39. And Jesus said, I came into this world to be a judge, so that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.

40. അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ചില പരീശന്മാര് ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു ഞങ്ങളും കുരുടരോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

40. These words came to the ears of the Pharisees who were with him and they said to him, Are we, then, blind?

41. യേശു അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് കുരുടര് ആയിരുന്നു എങ്കില് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു പാപം ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു; എന്നാല്ഞങ്ങള് കാണുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപം നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. Jesus said to them, If you were blind you would have no sin: but now that you say, We see; your sin is there still.
