1. ഇക്കോന്യയില് അവര് ഒരുമിച്ചു യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയില് ചെന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാരിലും യവനന്മാരിലും വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം വിശ്വസിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം സംസാരിച്ചു.

1. And it came to passe in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Iewes, & so spake, that a great multitude both of the Iewes, & also of the Grekes beleued.

2. വിശ്വസിക്കാത്ത യെഹൂദന്മാരോ ജാതികളുടെ മനസ്സു സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നേരെ ഇളക്കി വഷളാക്കി.

2. But the vnbeleuyng Iewes, stirred vp, and corrupted the myndes of the Gentiles agaynst the brethren.

3. എന്നാല് അവര് വളരെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു, കര്ത്താവില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; അവന് തന്റെ കൃപയുടെ വചനത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷിനിന്നു, അവരുടെ കയ്യാല് അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുവാന് വരം നല്കി.

3. Long tyme therfore abode they there, and quyt them selues boldely, with the helpe of the Lorde, which gaue testimonie vnto the worde of his grace, and graunted signes & wonders to be done by their handes.

4. എന്നാല് പട്ടണത്തിലെ ജനസമൂഹം ഭിന്നിച്ചു ചിലര് അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷത്തിലും ആയി.

4. But the multitude of the citie was deuided: and part helde with the Iewes, and part with the Apostles.

5. അവരെ അവമാനിപ്പാനും കല്ലെറിവാനും ജാതികളും യെഹൂദന്മാരും അവിടത്തെ പ്രമാണികളോടുകൂടി ഒരു ആക്രമം ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോള് അവര് അതു ഗ്രഹിച്ചു ലുസ്ത്ര,

5. And when there was an assault made both of the gentiles, and also of the Iewes, with their rulers, to do them violence, and to stone them,

6. ദെര്ബ്ബ ഇന്ന ലുക്കവോന്യപട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദേശത്തിലേക്കും

6. They were ware of it, and fled vnto Lystra & Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and vnto the regio that lieth rounde about:

7. ഔടിപ്പോയി അവിടെ സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുപോന്നു.

7. And there preached the Gospell.

8. ലുസ്ത്രയില് അമ്മയുടെ ഗര്ഭംമുതല് മുടന്തനായി ഒരിക്കലും നടന്നിട്ടില്ലാതെയും കാലിന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയും ഉള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ഇരുന്നിരുന്നു.

8. And there sate a certayne man at Lystra, weake in his feete, beyng a creple from his mothers wombe, and neuer had walked.

9. അവന് പൊലൊസ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടു; അവന് അവനെ ഉറ്റു നോക്കി, സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിപ്പാന് അവന്നു വിശ്വാസമുണ്ടു എന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു

9. The same hearde Paul speake: which beholdyng hym, and perceauyng that he had sayth to be whole,

10. നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കാലൂന്നി നിവിര്ന്നുനില്ക്ക എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു; അവന് കുതിച്ചെഴുന്നേറ്റു നടന്നു

10. Sayde with a loude voyce: stande vpryght on thy feete. And he start vp, and walked.

11. പൌലൊസ് ചെയ്തതു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടിട്ടുദേവന്മാര് മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തില് നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ലുക്കവോന്യഭാഷയില് നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lyft vp their voyces, saying in the speache of Lycaonia: Gods are come downe to vs in the lykenesse of men.

12. ബര്ന്നബാസിന്നു ഇന്ദ്രന് എന്നും പൌലൊസ് മുഖ്യപ്രസംഗിയാകയാല് അവന്നു ബുധന് എന്നു പേര്വിളിച്ചു.

12. And they called Barnabas Iupiter, and Paul Mercurius, because he was the chiefe speaker.

13. പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പിലുള്ള ഇന്ദ്രക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ പുരോഹിതന് കാളകളെയും പൂമാലകളെയും ഗോപുരത്തിങ്കല് കൊണ്ടുവന്നു പുരുഷാരത്തോടുകൂടെ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാന് ഭാവിച്ചു.

13. Then Iupiters priest, which was before their citie, brought oxen and garlandes vnto the doore, and woulde haue done sacrifice with the people.

14. ഇതു അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരായ ബര്ന്നബാസും പൌലൊസും കേട്ടിട്ടു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തിന്റെ ഇടയിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു

14. Which when the Apostles, Barnabas & Paul heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying,

15. പുരുഷന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് ഈ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു? ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു സമസ്വഭാവമുള്ള മനുഷ്യര് അത്രെ; നിങ്ങള് ഈ വ്യര്ത്ഥകാര്യങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു, ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിയേണം എന്നുള്ള സുവിശേഷം ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു അറിയിക്കുന്നു.

15. And saying: Sirs, why do ye these thynges? We are mortall men lyke vnto you, and preach vnto you, that ye shoulde turne from these vanities, vnto the lyuyng God, which made heauen and earth, and the sea, and all thynges that are therin.

16. കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലങ്ങളില് അവന് സകലജാതികളെയും സ്വന്ത വഴികളില് നടപ്പാന് സമ്മതിച്ചു.

16. The which in tymes past suffred all nations to walke in their owne wayes.

17. എങ്കിലും അവന് നന്മചെയ്കയും ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു മഴയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള കാലങ്ങളും നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തരികയും ആഹാരവും സന്തോഷവും നല്കി നിങ്ങളെ തൃപ്തരാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തുപോന്നതിനാല് തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം തരാതിരുന്നിട്ടില്ല.

17. Neuerthelesse, he left not hym selfe without witnesse, in that he shewed his benefites from heauen, in geuyng vs rayne and fruitefull seasons, fillyng our heartes with foode and gladnesse.

18. അവര് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങള്ക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കാതവണ്ണം പുരുഷാരത്തെ പ്രയാസത്തോടെ തടുത്തു.

18. And with these sayinges, scarce refrayned they the people, that they had not done sacrifice vnto them.

19. എന്നാല് അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയില് നിന്നും ഇക്കോന്യയില് നിന്നും യെഹൂദന്മാര് വന്നു കൂടി പുരുഷാരത്തെ വശത്താക്കി പൌലൊസിനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു; അവന് മരിച്ചു എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചിട്ടു അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു ഇഴെച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു.

19. Then thyther came certayne Iewes from Antioche and Iconium: which, whe they had perswaded the people, and had stoned Paule, drewe hym out of the citie, supposyng he had ben dead.

20. എന്നാല് ശിഷ്യന്മാര് അവനെ ചുറ്റിനില്ക്കയില് അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു; പിറ്റെന്നാള് ബര്ന്നബാസിനോടു കൂടി ദെര്ബ്ബെക്കു പോയി.

20. Howbeit, as the disciples stoode round about hym, he arose vp, and came into the citie: And the next day, he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

21. ആ പട്ടണത്തിലും സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചു പലരെയും ശിഷ്യരാക്കിയശേഷം അവര് ലുസ്ത്ര, ഇക്കോന്യ, അന്ത്യോക്യ എന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,

21. And when they had preached to that citie, and had taught many, they returned agayne to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioche,

22. വിശ്വാസത്തില് നില നില്ക്കേണം എന്നും നാം അനേകം കഷ്ടങ്ങളില്കൂടി ദൈവരാജ്യത്തില് കടക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നും പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ മനസ്സു ഉറപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു.

22. And strengthed the disciples soules agayne, and exhorted them to continue in the fayth, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kyngdome of God.

23. അവര് സഭതോറും അവര്ക്കും മൂപ്പന്മാരെ നിയമിക്കയും ഉപവസിച്ചും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങള് വിശ്വസിച്ച കര്ത്താവിങ്കല് അവരെ ഭാരമേല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

23. And when they had ordeyned them elders by election in euery Churche, and had prayed, with fastyng, they commended them to the Lorde, on whom they beleued.

24. അവര് പിസിദ്യയില്കൂടി കടന്നു പംഫുല്യയില്എത്തി,

24. And when they had gone throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia,

25. പെര്ഗ്ഗയില്വചനം പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം അത്തല്യെക്കു പോയി

25. And when they had spoken the worde in Perga, they descended into Attalia,

26. അവിടെ നിന്നു കപ്പല് കയറി അന്ത്യൊക്ക്യയിലേക്കു പോയി; തങ്ങള് നിവര്ത്തിച്ച വേലക്കായി ദൈവകൃപയില് അവരെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചയച്ചതു അവിടെനിന്നു ആയിരുന്നുവല്ലോ.

26. And thence departed by shippe to Antioche, from whence they were committed vnto the grace of God, to the worke which they fulfylled.

27. അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം സഭയെ ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂട്ടി, ദൈവം തങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നു ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും ജാതികള്ക്കു വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ വാതില് തുറന്നുകൊടുത്തതും അറിയിച്ചു.

27. And when they were come, and had gathered the Churche together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, & howe he had opened the doore of fayth vnto the gentiles.

28. പിന്നെ അവന് ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കുറെക്കാലം അവിടെ പാര്ത്തു.

28. And there they abode long tyme with the disciples.
