1. അഗ്രിപ്പാവു പൌലൊസിനോടുനീന്റെ കാര്യം പറവാന് അനുവാദം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോള് പൌലൊസ് കൈനീട്ടി പ്രതിവാദിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Agrippa said to Sha'ul, 'You may speak for yourself.' Then Sha'ul stretched out his hand, and made his defense.

2. അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, യെഹൂദന്മാര് എന്റെ മേല് ചുമത്തുന്ന എല്ലാ കുറ്റങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു ഇന്നു തിരുമുമ്പാകെ പ്രതിവാദിപ്പാന് ഇടവന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

2. 'I think myself happy, King Agrippa, that I am to make my defense before you this day concerning all the things whereof I am accused by the Yehudim,

3. വിശേഷാല് നീ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിലെ ആചാരങ്ങളും തര്ക്കങ്ങളും എല്ലാം അറിയുന്നവന് ആകയാല് ഞാന് ഭാഗ്യവാന് എന്നു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പ്രതിവാദം ക്ഷമയോടേ കേള്ക്കേണമെന്നു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

3. especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which are among the Yehudim. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently.

4. എന്റെ ജാതിക്കാരുടെ ഇടയിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും ആദിമുതല് ബാല്യംതുടങ്ങിയുള്ള എന്റെ നടപ്പു യെഹൂദന്മാര് എല്ലാവരും അറിയുന്നു.

4. 'Indeed, all the Yehudim know my way of life from my youth up, which was from the beginning among my own nation and at Yerushalayim;

5. having known me from the first, if they are willing to testify, that after the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Parush.

6. Now I stand here to be judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers,

7. which our twelve tribes, earnestly serving night and day, hope to attain. Concerning this hope I am accused by the Yehudim, King Agrippa!

8. Why is it judged incredible with you, if God does raise the dead?

9. 'I myself most assuredly thought that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Yeshua of Natzeret.

10. അതു ഞാന് യെരൂശലേമില് ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു; മഹാ പുരോഹിതന്മാരോടു അധികാരപത്രം വാങ്ങി വിശുദ്ധന്മാരില് പലരെയും തടവില് ആക്കി അടെച്ചു; അവരെ നിഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന സമയം ഞാനും സമ്മതം കൊടുത്തു.

10. This I also did in Yerushalayim. I both shut up many of the holy ones in prisons, having received authority from the chief Kohanim, and when they were put to death I gave my vote against them.

11. Punishing them often in all the synagogues, I tried to make them blaspheme. Being exceedingly enraged against them, I persecuted them even to foreign cities.

12. 'Whereupon as I traveled to Dammesek with the authority and commission from the chief Kohanim,

13. at noon, O King, I saw on the way a light from the sky, brighter than the sun, shining around me and those who traveled with me.

14. When we had all fallen to the eretz, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, 'Sha'ul, Sha'ul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.'

15. 'I said, 'Who are you, Lord?' 'He said, 'I am Yeshua, whom you are persecuting.

19. 'Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision,

20. ആദ്യം ദമസ്കൊസിലും യെരൂശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉള്ളവരോടും പിന്നെ ജാതികളോടും മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തിങ്കലേക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞു മാനസാന്തരത്തിന്നു യോഗ്യമായ പ്രവൃത്തികള് ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

20. but declared first to them of Dammesek, at Yerushalayim, and throughout all the country of Yehudah, and also to the Goyim, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance.

21. ഇതു നിമിത്തം യെഹൂദന്മാര് ദൈവാലയത്തില് വെച്ചു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലുവാന് ശ്രമിച്ചു.

21. For this reason the Yehudim seized me in the temple, and tried to kill me.

22. എന്നാല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സഹായം ലഭിക്കയാല് ഞാന് ഇന്നുവരെ നില്ക്കയും ചെറിയവരോടും വലിയവരോടും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു പോരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

22. Having therefore obtained the help that is from God, I stand to this day testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moshe said would happen,

23. how the Messiah must suffer, and how, by the resurrection of the dead, he would be first to proclaim light both to these people and to the Goyim.'

24. ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കയില് ഫെസ്തൊസ്പൌലൊസേ, നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു; വിദ്യാ ബഹുത്വത്താല് നിനക്കു ഭ്രാന്തു പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉറക്കെ പറഞ്ഞു.

24. As he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, 'Sha'ul, you are crazy! Your great learning is driving you insane!'

25. അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്രാജശ്രീ ഫെസ്തൊസേ, എനിക്കു ഭ്രാന്തില്ല; ഞാന് സത്യവും സുബോധവുമായ വാക്കത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു.

25. But he said, 'I am not crazy, most excellent Festus, but boldly declare words of truth and reasonableness.

26. രാജാവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അറിവുള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു അവനോടു ഞാന് പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യത്തോടെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു ഇതു ഒന്നും മറവായിരിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നു എനിക്കു നിശ്ചയമുണ്ടു; അതു ഒരു കോണില് നടന്നതല്ല.

26. For the king knows of these things, to whom also I speak freely. For I am persuaded that none of these things is hidden from him, for this has not been done in a corner.

27. അഗ്രിപ്പാരാജാവേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you believe.'

28. അഗ്രിപ്പാ പൌലൊസിനോടുഞാന് ക്രിസ്ത്യാനിയായിത്തിരുവാന് നീ എന്നെ അല്പം കൊണ്ടു സമ്മതിപ്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. - അതിന്നു പൌലൊസ്;

28. Agrippa said to Sha'ul, 'With a little persuasion are you trying to make me a Messianic?'

29. നീ മാത്രമല്ല, ഇന്നു എന്റെ പ്രസംഗം കേള്ക്കുന്നവര് എല്ലാവരും അല്പംകൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ അധികം കൊണ്ടാകട്ടെ ഈ ചങ്ങല ഒഴികെ എന്നെപ്പോലെ ആകേണം എന്നു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. Sha'ul said, 'I pray to God, that whether with little or with much, not only you, but also all that hear me this day, might become such as I am, except for these bonds.'

30. അപ്പോള് രാജാവും ദേശാധിപതിയും ബെര്ന്നീക്കയും അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നവരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു മാറി നിന്നു

30. The king rose up with the governor, and Bernice, and those who sat with them.

31. ഈ മനുഷ്യന് മരണത്തിന്നോ ചങ്ങലെക്കോ യോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു തമ്മില് പറഞ്ഞു.

31. When they had withdrawn, they spoke one to another, saying, 'This man does nothing worthy of death or of bonds.'

32. കൈസരെ അഭയം ചൊല്ലിയിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് കഴിയുമായിരുന്നു എന്നു അഗ്രിപ്പാവു ഫെസ്തൊസിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. Agrippa said to Festus, 'This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.'
