1. അവനെ കുലചെയ്തതു ശൌലിന്നു സമ്മതമായിരുന്നു. അന്നു യെരൂശലേമിലെ സഭെക്കു ഒരു വലിയ ഉപദ്രവം നേരിട്ടു; അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് ഒഴികെ എല്ലാവരും യെഹുദ്യ ശമര്യ ദേശങ്ങളില് ചിതറിപ്പോയി.

1. And Saul was consenting to the doing away of him. And in that day a great persecution took place on the assembly which was in Jerusalem; and all were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2. ഭക്തിയുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാര് സ്തെഫാനൊസിനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു. അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു വലിയൊരു പ്രലാപം കഴിച്ചു.

2. And devout men together carried Stephen and made a great lamentation over him.

3. എന്നാല് ശൌല് വീടുതോറും ചെന്നു പുരുഷന്മാരെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും പിടിച്ചിഴച്ചു തടവില് ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സഭയെ മുടിച്ചു പോന്നു.

3. But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering house by house, dragging both men and women, he delivered them to prison.

4. ചിതറിപ്പോയവര് വചനം സുവിശേഷിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു അവിടവിടെ സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.

4. Then, indeed, the ones who being scattered passed through, preaching the gospel, the Word.

5. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ശമര്യപട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു അവരോടു ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.

5. And going down to a city of Samaria, Philip proclaimed Christ to them.

6. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ചെയ്ത അടയാളങ്ങളെ പുരുഷാരങ്ങള് കേള്ക്കയും കാണ്കയും ചെയ്കയാല് അവന് പറയുന്നതു ഏകമനസ്സോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

6. And with one passion the crowds heeded that being said by Philip when they heard and saw the many miraculous signs which he did.

7. അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കള് ബാധിച്ച പലരില്നിന്നും അവ ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അനേകം പക്ഷവാത ക്കാരും മുടന്തരും സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

7. For many of the ones having unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, they came out. And many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

8. അങ്ങനെ ആ പട്ടണത്തില് വളരെ സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടായി.

8. And great joy was in that city.

9. എന്നാല് ശിമോന് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു പുരുഷന് ആ പട്ടണത്തില് ആഭിചാരം ചെയ്തു, താന് മഹാന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ശമര്യ ജാതിയെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചുപോന്നു.

9. But a certain man named Simon had long been conjuring in the city and amazing the nation of Samaria, claiming himself to be some great one.

10. ഇവന് മഹതി എന്ന ദൈവശക്തി ആകുന്നു എന്നും പറഞ്ഞു ആബാലവൃദ്ധം എല്ലാവരും അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുവന്നു.

10. All were paying attention to him, from small to great, saying, This one is the power of God, which is great.

11. ഇവന് ആഭിചാരംകൊണ്ടു ഏറിയ കാലം അവരെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കയാല് അത്രേ അവര് അവനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചതു.

11. And they were paying attention to him because for a long time he had amazed them with his conjuring.

12. എന്നാല് ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെയും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുന്ന ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനെ അവര് വിശ്വസിച്ചപ്പോള് പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു.

12. But when they believed Philip preaching the gospel, the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13. ശിമോന് താനും വിശ്വസിച്ചു സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടു ചേര്ന്നു നിന്നു, വലിയ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളും അടയാളങ്ങളും നടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിച്ചു.

13. And Simon himself also believed, and being baptized was continuing steadfastly with Philip. And seeing miraculous signs and mighty works happening, he was amazed.

14. അനന്തരം യെരൂശലേമിലുള്ള അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര്, ശമര്യര് ദൈവവചനം കൈക്കൊണ്ടു എന്നു കേട്ടു പത്രൊസിനെയും യോഹന്നാനെയും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് അയച്ചു.

14. And the apostles in Jerusalem hearing that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

15. അവര് ചെന്നു, അവര്ക്കും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവര്ക്കായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചു.

15. who going down prayed concerning them so that they may receive the Holy Spirit.

16. അന്നുവരെ അവരില് ആരുടെമേലും ആത്മാവു വന്നിരുന്നില്ല; അവര് കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സ്നാനം ഏറ്റിരുന്നതേയുള്ളു.

16. For He had not yet fallen on any one of them, but they were only being baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

17. അവര് അവരുടെമേല് കൈ വെച്ചപ്പോള് അവര്ക്കും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ചു.

17. Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

18. അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് കൈ വെച്ചതിനാല് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിച്ചതു ശിമോന് കണ്ടാറെ അവര്ക്കും ദ്രവ്യം കൊണ്ടു വന്നു

18. But Simon having seen that the Holy Spirit is given through the laying on of the hands of the apostles, he offered them money,

19. ഞാന് ഒരുത്തന്റെ മേല് കൈ വെച്ചാല് അവന്നു പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു ലഭിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഈ അധികാരം എനിക്കും തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

19. saying, Give to me also this authority that to whomever I may lay on the hands he may receive the Holy Spirit.

20. പത്രൊസ് അവനോടുദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാനം പണത്തിന്നു വാങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളാം എന്നു നീ നിരൂപിക്കകൊണ്ടു നിന്റെ പണം നിന്നോടുകൂടെ നശിച്ചുപോകട്ടെ.

20. But Peter said to him, May your silver be with you into perdition, because you thought to get the gift of God through money.

21. നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ദൈവ സന്നിധിയില് നേരുള്ളതല്ലായ്കകൊണ്ടു ഈ കാര്യത്തില് നിനക്കു പങ്കും ഔഹരിയുമില്ല.

21. There is neither part nor lot to you in this matter, for your heart is not upright before the face of God.

22. നീ ഈ വഷളത്വം വിട്ടു മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു കര്ത്താവിനോടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്ക; പക്ഷെ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലെ നിരൂപണം ക്ഷമിച്ചുകിട്ടുമായിരിക്കും.

22. Repent, then, from this wickedness of yours, and petition God if perhaps you will be forgiven the thought of your heart.

23. നീ കൈപ്പുള്ള പകയിലും അനീതിയുടെ ബന്ധനത്തിലും അകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

23. For I see you being in the gall of bitterness and a bundle of unrighteousness.

24. എന്നു ഞാന് കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന്നു ശിമോന് നിങ്ങള് പറഞ്ഞതു ഒന്നും എനിക്കു ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് കര്ത്താവിനോടു എനിക്കുവേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിപ്പിന് എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And answering Simon said, You petition to the Lord for me, so that nothing of which you have spoken may come on me.

25. അവര് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ വചനം സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു പ്രസംഗിച്ചശേഷം ശമര്യക്കാരുടെ അനേക ഗ്രാമങ്ങളില് സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

25. Then indeed having earnestly testified and having spoken the Word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, even having preached the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans.

26. അനന്തരം കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതന് ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടുനീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു തെക്കോട്ടു യെരൂശലേമില് നിന്നു ഗസെക്കുള്ള നിര്ജ്ജനമായ വഴിയിലേക്കു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

26. But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Rise up and go along south on the highway going down to Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a deserted place.

27. അവന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോള് കന്ദക്ക എന്ന ഐത്യോപ്യാ രാജ്ഞിയുടെ ഒരു ഷണ്ഡനും മഹാനും അവളുടെ സകലഭണ്ഡാരത്തിന്നും മേല്വിചാരകനുമായ ഒരു ഐത്യോപ്യനെ കണ്ടു. അവന് യെരൂശലേമില് നമസ്കരിപ്പാന് വന്നിട്ടു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്

27. And rising up he went. And, behold, an Ethiopian man, a eunuch, a potentate with Candace, the queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship!

28. തേരില് ഇരുന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകം വായിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

28. And he was returning. And sitting on his chariot he read the prophet Isaiah.

29. ആത്മാവു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടുനീ അടുത്തുചെന്നു തേരിനോടു ചേര്ന്നുനടക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

29. And the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join yourself to this chariot.

30. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ഔടിച്ചെല്ലുമ്പോള് യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകന്റെ പുസ്തകം വായിക്കുന്നതു കേട്ടുനീ വായിക്കുന്നതു ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു

30. And running near Philip heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, Indeed, do you know what you are reading?

31. ഒരുത്തന് പൊരുള് തിരിച്ചുതരാഞ്ഞാല് എങ്ങനെ ഗ്രഹിക്കും എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു, ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് കയറി തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കേണം എന്നു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.

31. But he said, How should I be able except someone shall guide me? And he called Philip near, to come up to sit with him.

32. തിരുവെഴുത്തില് അവന് വായിച്ച ഭാഗമാവിതു
യെശയ്യാ 53:7-8

32. And the content of the Scripture which he was reading was this: 'He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and as a lamb voiceless before the one shearing it, so He does not open His mouth.

33. “അറുക്കുവാനുള്ള ആടിനെപ്പോലെ അവനെ കൊണ്ടുപോയി; രോമം കത്രിക്കുന്നവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്ന കുഞ്ഞാടിനെപ്പോലെ അവന് വായ് തുറക്കാതിരുന്നു. അവന്റെ താഴ്ചയില് അവന്നു ന്യായം കിട്ടാതെ പോയി; അവന്റെ തലമുറയെ ആര് വിവരിക്കും? ഭൂമിയില് നിന്നു അവന്റെ ജീവനെ എടുത്തുകളയുന്നുവല്ലോ”
യെശയ്യാ 53:7-8

33. In His humiliation His judgment was taken away. And who will recount His generation? For His life is taken away from the earth.' Isa. 53:7, 8

34. ഷണ്ഡന് ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോടുഇതു പ്രവാചകന് ആരെക്കുറിച്ചു പറയുന്നു? തന്നെക്കുറിച്ചോ മറ്റൊരുത്തനെക്കുറിച്ചോ.

34. And answering the eunuch said to Philip, I ask you, about whom does the prophet say this? About himself, or about some other one?

35. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തു ആധാരമാക്കി അവനോടു യേശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാന് തുടങ്ങി.

35. And opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, Philip announced the gospel to him, Jesus.

36. അവര് ഇങ്ങനെ വഴിപോകയില് വെള്ളമുള്ളോരു സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് ഷണ്ഡന് ഇതാ വെള്ളം ഞാന് സ്നാനം ഏലക്കുന്നതിന്നു എന്തു വിരോധം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

36. And as they were going along the highway they came on some water. And the eunuch said, Behold, water! What prevents me to be baptized?

37. (അതിന്നു ഫിലിപ്പൊസ്നീ പൂര്ണ്ണ ഹൃദയത്തോടെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ആകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. യേശു ക്രിസ്തു ദൈവപുത്രന് എന്നു ഞാന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു)

37. And Philip said, If you believe from all the heart, it is lawful. And answering he said, I believe Jesus Christ to be the Son of God.

38. അങ്ങനെ അവന് തേര് നിര്ത്തുവാന് കല്പിച്ചു; ഫിലിപ്പൊസും ഷണ്ഡനും ഇരുവരും വെള്ളത്തില് ഇറങ്ങി, അവന് അവനെ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചു;

38. And he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39. അവര് വെള്ളത്തില് നിന്നു കയറിയപ്പോള് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ആത്മാവു ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനെ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ഷണ്ഡന് അവനെ പിന്നെ കണ്ടില്ല; അവന് സന്തോഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോയി.

39. But when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip. And the eunuch did not see him any more; for he went his way rejoicing.

40. ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനെ പിന്നെ അസ്തോദില് കണ്ടു; അവന് സഞ്ചരിച്ചു എല്ലാ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും സുവിശേഷം അറിയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു കൈസര്യയില് എത്തി.

40. And Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through he preached the gospel to all the cities until he came to Caesarea.
