1. സ്നേഹം ആചരിപ്പാന് ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിന് ! ആത്മികവരങ്ങളും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചനവരവും വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് .

1. Follow after love; yet desire earnestly spiritual [gifts], yet even better that you+ may prophesy.

2. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് മനുഷ്യരോടല്ല ദൈവത്തോടത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും അവന് ആത്മാവില് മര്മ്മങ്ങളെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

2. For he who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men, but to God; for no man understands; but in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

3. പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവനോ ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കും പ്രബോധനത്തിന്നും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നുമായി മനുഷ്യരോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

3. But he who prophesies speaks to men edification, and exhortation, and consolation.

4. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് തനിക്കുതാന് ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു; പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു.

4. He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but he who prophesies edifies the church.

5. നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും വിശേഷാല് പ്രവചിക്കേണം എന്നും ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവന് അവനെക്കാള് വലിയവന് .

5. Now I would have all of you+ speak with tongues, yet even better that you+ should prophesy: and greater is he who prophesies than he who speaks with tongues, except he interprets, that the church may receive edifying.

6. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാന് വെളിപ്പാടായിട്ടോ ജ്ഞാനമായിട്ടോ പ്രവചനമായിട്ടോ ഉപദേശമായിട്ടോ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കാതെ അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം വരും?

6. But now, brothers, if I come to you+ speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you+, unless I speak to you+ either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?

7. കുഴല്, വീണ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാദം കൊടുക്കുന്ന നിര്ജ്ജീവസാധനങ്ങള് തന്നേയും നാദഭേദം കാണിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് ഊതിയതോ മീട്ടിയതോ എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും?

7. Even things without life, giving a voice, whether pipe or harp, if they don't give a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or harped?

8. കാഹളം തെളിവില്ലാത്ത നാദം കൊടുത്താല് പടെക്കു ആര് ഒരുങ്ങും?

8. For if the trumpet gives an uncertain voice, who will prepare himself for war?

9. അതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും നാവുകൊണ്ടു തെളിവായ വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിക്കാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും? നിങ്ങള് കാറ്റിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവര് ആകുമല്ലോ.

9. So also you+, unless you+ utter by the tongue speech easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you+ will be speaking into the air.

10. ലോകത്തില് വിവിധ ഭാഷകള് അനവധി ഉണ്ടു; അവയില് ഒന്നും തെളിവില്ലാത്തതല്ല.

10. There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and no [kind] is without significance.

11. ഞാന് ഭാഷ അറിയാഞ്ഞാല് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാന് ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും; സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് എനിക്കും ബര്ബ്ബരന് ആയിരിക്കും.

11. If then I don't know the meaning of the voice, I will be to him who speaks a barbarian, and he who speaks will be a barbarian to me.

12. അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും ആത്മവരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വാഞ്ഛയുള്ളവരാകയാല് സഭയുടെ ആത്മിക വര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി സഫലന്മാര് ആകുവാന് ശ്രമിപ്പിന് .

12. So also you+, since you+ are zealous of spiritual [gifts], seek that you+ may abound to the edifying of the church.

13. അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനവരത്തിന്നായി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കട്ടെ.

13. Therefore let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret.

14. ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷയില് പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് എന്റെ ആത്മാവു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയോ അഫലമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

15. ആകയാല് എന്തു? ഞാന് ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പാടും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പാടും.

15. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

16. അല്ല, നീ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലിയാല് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവന് നീ പറയുന്നതു തിരിയാതിരിക്കെ നിന്റെ സ്തോത്രത്തിന്നു എങ്ങനെ ആമേന് പറയും?

16. Or else if you bless in the spirit, how will he that fills the place of the unlearned say the Amen at your giving of thanks, seeing he doesn't know what you say?

17. നീ നന്നായി സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലുന്നു സത്യം; മറ്റവന്നു ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധന വരുന്നില്ലതാനും.

17. For you truly give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

18. നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും അധികം ഞാന് അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

18. I thank God, I speak with tongues more than all of you+:

19. എങ്കിലും സഭയില് പതിനായിരം വാക്കു അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അധികം മറ്റുള്ളവരെയും പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചുവാക്കു പറവാന് ഞാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

19. nevertheless in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in a tongue.

20. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ബുദ്ധിയില് കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള് ആകരുതു; തിന്മെക്കു ശിശുക്കള് ആയിരിപ്പിന് ; ബുദ്ധിയിലോ മുതിര്ന്നവരാകുവിന് .

20. Brothers, don't be children in mind: yet in malice be+ babes, but in mind be men.

21. “അന്യഭാഷകളാലും അന്യന്മാരുടെ അധരങ്ങളാലും ഞാന് ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും എങ്കിലും അവര് എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയില്ല എന്നു കര്ത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തില് എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
യെശയ്യാ 28:11-12

21. In the law it is written, By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people; and not even thus will they hear me, says the Lord.

22. അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷകള് അടയാളമായിരിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കത്രേ; പ്രവചനമോ അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കല്ല, വിശ്വാസികള്ക്കു തന്നേ.

22. Therefore tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving: but prophesying [is for a sign], not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.

23. സഭ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവരോ അവിശ്വാസികളോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

23. If therefore the whole church is assembled together and all speak with tongues, and unlearned or unbelieving men come in, will they not say that you+ are insane?

24. എല്ലാവരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവിശ്വാസിയോ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവനോ അകത്തു വന്നാല് എല്ലാവരുടെ വാക്കിനാലും അവന്നു പാപബോധം വരും; അവന് എല്ലാവരാലും വിവേചിക്കപ്പെടും.

24. But if all prophesy, and an unbelieving or unlearned one comes in, he is reproved by all, he is judged by all;

25. അവന്റെ ഹൃദയരഹസ്യങ്ങളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ അവന് കവിണ്ണുവീണു, ദൈവം വാസ്തവമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കും.

25. the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you+ indeed.

26. ആകയാല് എന്തു? സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങള് കൂടിവരുമ്പോള് ഔരോരുത്തന്നു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം ഉണ്ടു, ഉപദേശം ഉണ്ടു, വെളിപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടു, അന്യഭാഷ ഉണ്ടു, വ്യഖ്യാനം ഉണ്ടു, സകലവും ആത്മികവര്ദ്ധനെക്കായി ഉതകട്ടെ.

26. What is it then, brothers? When you+ come together, each has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has a tongue, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edifying.

27. അന്യഭാഷയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് രണ്ടു പേരോ ഏറിയാല് മൂന്നുപേരോ ആകട്ടെ; അവര് ഔരോരുത്തനായി സംസാരിക്കയും ഒരുവന് വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

27. If any man speaks in a tongue, [let it be] by two, or at the most three, and [that] in turn; and let one interpret:

28. വ്യാഖ്യാനി ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാല് അന്യഭാഷക്കാരന് സഭയില് മിണ്ടാതെ തന്നോടും ദൈവത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ.

28. but if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

29. പ്രവാചകന്മാര് രണ്ടു മൂന്നു പേര് സംസാരിക്കയും മറ്റുള്ളവര് വിവേചിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

29. And let the prophets speak [by] two or three, and let the others discern.

30. ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ മറ്റൊരുവന്നു വെളിപ്പാടുണ്ടായാലോ ഒന്നാമത്തവന് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

30. But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.

31. എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും എല്ലാവര്ക്കും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഔരോരുത്തനായി പ്രവചിക്കാമല്ലോ.

31. For you+ can all prophesy one at a time, that all may learn, and all may be exhorted;

32. പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കള് പ്രവാചകന്മാര്ക്കും കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

32. and the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets;

33. ദൈവം കലക്കത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ല സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമത്രേ.

33. for God is not [a God] of confusion, but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

34. വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ സര്വ്വസഭകളിലും എന്നപോലെ സ്ത്രീകള് സഭായോഗങ്ങളില് മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പറയുന്നതുപോലെ കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനല്ലാതെ സംസാരിപ്പാന് അവര്ക്കും അനുവാദമില്ല.

34. let the women keep silent in the churches: for it is not permitted to them to speak; but let them be in subjection, as also the law says.

35. അവര് വല്ലതും പഠിപ്പാന് ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കില് വീട്ടില്വെച്ചു ഭര്ത്താക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടേ; സ്ത്രീ സഭയില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു അനുചിതമല്ലോ.

35. And if they want to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home: for it is shameful for a woman to speak in the church.

36. ദൈവവചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നോ പുറപ്പെട്ടതു? അല്ല, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു മാത്രമോ വന്നതു?

36. What? Was it from you+ that the word of God went forth? Or did it come to you+ alone?

37. താന് പ്രവാചകന് എന്നോ ആത്മികന് എന്നോ ഒരുത്തന്നു തോന്നുന്നു എങ്കില്, ഞാന് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു കര്ത്താവിന്റെ കല്പന ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവന് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.

37. If any man thinks himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him take knowledge of the things which I write to you+, that they are the commandment of the Lord.

38. ഒരുവന് അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കില് അവന് അറിയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

38. But if any man ignores [this], he is [to be] ignored.

39. അതുകൊണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരേ, പ്രവചനവരം വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിന് ; അന്യഭാഷകളില് സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു വിലക്കുകയുമരുതു. സകലവും ഉചിതമായും ക്രമമായും നടക്കട്ടെ.

39. Therefore, my brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues.
