1. ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടപ്പിന് ; അതിനോടു കൂട്ടരുതു; അതില്നിന്നു കുറെക്കയും അരുതു.

1. If there arise among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams and give thee a sign or a wonder,

2. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഒരു പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ എഴുന്നേറ്റു

2. and that sign or wonder which he hath said come to pass, and then say: let us go after strange gods which thou hast not known, and let us serve them:

3. നീ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ മുന്നറിയിക്കയും അവന് പറഞ്ഞ അടയാളമോ അത്ഭുതമോ സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്താല്

3. hearken not unto the words of that prophet or dreamer of dreams. For the LORD thy God tempteth you, to wete whether ye love the LORD your God with all your hearts and with all your souls.

4. ആ പ്രവാചകന്റെയോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരന്റെയോ വാക്കു നീ കേട്ടനുസരിക്കരുതു; നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പൂര്ണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂര്ണ്ണമനസ്സോടും കൂടെ നിങ്ങള് സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിക്കയാകുന്നു.

4. For ye must walk after the LORD your God and fear him and keep his commandments and hearken unto his voice and serve him and cleave unto him.

5. നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നിങ്ങള് അനുസരിച്ചു ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവന്റെ കല്പന പ്രമാണിച്ചു അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയും അവനെ സേവിച്ചു അവനോടു ചേര്ന്നിരിക്കയും വേണം.

5. And that prophet or dreamer of dreams shall die for it, because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God which brought you out of the land of Egypt and delivered you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in: and so thou shalt put evil away from thee.

6. ആ പ്രവാചകനോ സ്വപ്നക്കാരനോ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും അടിമവീട്ടില്നിന്നു വീണ്ടെടുത്തവനുമായ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി ദ്രോഹം സംസാരിച്ചു, നീ നടക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിച്ച വഴിയില്നിന്നു നിന്നെ തെറ്റിപ്പാന് നോക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ കൊല്ലേണം; അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു ദോഷം നീക്കിക്കളയേണം.

6. If thy brother the son of thy mother or thine own son or thy daughter or the wife that lieth in thy bosom or thy friend which is as thine own soul unto thee, entice thee secretly saying: let us go and serve strange gods which thou hast not known nor yet thy fathers,

7. നിങ്ങളുടെ ചുറ്റും ദേശത്തിന്റെ ഒരു അറ്റംമുതല് മറ്റെഅറ്റംവരെ സമീപത്തോ ദൂരത്തോ ഉള്ള ജാതികളുടെ ദേവന്മാരില്വെച്ചു

7. of the gods of the people which are round about thee, whether they be nigh unto thee or far off from thee, from the one end of the land unto the other.

8. നീയോ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യ ദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്ക എന്നു നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മകനായ നിന്റെ സഹോദരനോ നിന്റെ മകനോ മകളോ നിന്റെ മാര്വ്വിടത്തിലുള്ള ഭാര്യയോ നിന്റെ പ്രാണസ്നേഹിതനോ രഹസ്യമായി പറഞ്ഞു നിന്നെ വശീകരിപ്പാന് നോക്കിയാല്

8. See thou consent not unto him nor hearken unto him: no, let not thine eye pity him nor have compassion on him, nor keep him secret, but cause him to be slain:

9. അവനോടു യോജിക്കയോ അവന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയോ ചെയ്യരുതു; അവനോടു കനിവു തോന്നുകയോ അവനോടു ക്ഷമിച്ചു അവനെ ഒളിപ്പിക്കയോ ചെയ്യാതെ അവനെ കൊന്നുകളയേണം.

9. Thine hand shall be first upon him to kill him: and then the hands of all the people.

10. അവനെ കൊല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു ആദ്യം നിന്റെ കയ്യും പിന്നെ സര്വ്വജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യും അവന്റെ മേല് ചെല്ലേണം.

10. And thou shalt stone him with stones that he die, because he hath gone about to thrust thee away from the LORD thy God which brought thee out of Egypt the house of bondage.

11. അടിമവീടായ മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയോടു നിന്നെ അകറ്റിക്കളവാന് അവന് അന്വേഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു, അവനെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞു കൊല്ലേണം.

11. And all Israel shall hear and fear and shall do no more and such wickedness as this is, among them.

12. ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് ഈ അരുതാത്ത കാര്യം നടക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം കേട്ടു ഭയപ്പെടേണം.

12. If thou shalt hear say of one of thy cities which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell in,

13. നിങ്ങള് അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അന്യദൈവങ്ങളെ നാം ചെന്നു സേവിക്കേണമെന്നു പറയുന്ന നീചന്മാര് നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില്നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വശീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു

13. that certain being the children of Belial are gone out from among you and have moved the inhabiters of their city saying: let us go and serve strange gods which ye have not known.

14. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു പാര്പ്പാന് തന്നിട്ടുള്ള നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളില് ഒന്നിനെക്കുറിച്ചു കേട്ടാല്

14. Then seek and make search and enquire diligently. If it be true and the thing of a surety that such abomination is wrought among you:

15. നീ നല്ലവണ്ണം അന്വേഷണവും പരിശോധനയും വിസ്താരവും കഴിക്കേണം; അങ്ങനെയുള്ള മ്ളേച്ഛത നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയില് നടന്നു എന്ന കാര്യം വാസ്തവവും നിശ്ചയവും എങ്കില്

15. then thou shalt smite the dwellers of that city with the edge of the sword, and destroy it merciless and all that is therein, and even the very cattle thereof with the edge of the sword.

16. നീ ആ പട്ടണത്തിലെ നിവാസികളെ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല് കൊന്നു അതും അതിലുള്ളതു ഒക്കെയും അതിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാല് ശപഥാര്പ്പിതമായി സംഹരിക്കേണം.

16. And gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the streets thereof, and burn with fire: both the city and all the spoil thereof every whit unto the LORD thy God. And it shall be an heap for ever and shall not be built again.

17. അതിലെ കൊള്ളയൊക്കെയും വീഥിയുടെ നടുവില് കൂട്ടി ആ പട്ടണവും അതിലെ കൊള്ളയൊക്കെയും അശേഷം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവെക്കായി തീയിട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം; അതു എന്നും പാഴകുന്നായിരിക്കേണം; അതിനെ പിന്നെ പണികയുമരുതു. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടു ഞാന് ഇന്നു നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിക്കുന്ന അവന്റെ സകലകല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചു നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു ഹിതമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തിട്ടു

17. And see that there cleave nought of the damned thing in thine hand, that the LORD may turn from his fierce wrath and shew thee mercy and have compassion on thee and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers:

18. യഹോവ തന്റെ ഉഗ്രകോപം വിട്ടുതിരിഞ്ഞു നിന്നോടു കരുണയും കനിവും കാണിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ശപഥാര്പ്പിതമായ യാതൊന്നും നിന്റെ കയ്യില് പറ്റിയിരിക്കരുതു.

18. when thou hast hearkened unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day so that thou do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.
