1. ആകയാല് സഹിച്ചുകൂടാഞ്ഞിട്ടു ഞങ്ങള് അഥേനയില് തനിച്ചു ഇരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാലും വേണ്ടതില്ല എന്നുവെച്ചു ഈ കഷ്ടങ്ങളില്

1. Therefore when we could wait no longer, we agreed to remain in Athens alone

2. ആരും കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തുവാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം സംബന്ധിച്ചു നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിപ്പാനുമായിട്ടു നമ്മുടെ സഹോദരനും ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സുവിശേഷഘോഷണത്തില് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകനുമായ തിമൊഥെയൊസിനെ അയച്ചു.

2. and sent Timothy, our brother and minister of God [and our fellowlabourer] in the gospel of the Christ, to confirm you and to exhort you in your faith,

3. കഷ്ടം അനുഭവിപ്പാന് നാം നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

3. that no one should be moved in these tribulations, for you know that we are appointed for this.

4. നാം കഷ്ടമനുഭവിക്കേണ്ടിവരും എന്നു ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഇരുന്നപ്പോള് മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുമുണ്ടു; അവ്വണ്ണം തന്നേ സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നു നിങ്ങള് അറിയുന്നു.

4. For even when we were with you, we told you in advance that we must pass through tribulations, even as it has come to pass, and ye know.

5. ഇതുനിമിത്തം എനിക്കു ഒട്ടും സഹിച്ചുകൂടാഞ്ഞിട്ടു പരീക്ഷകന് നിങ്ങളെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചുവോ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രയത്നം വെറുതെയായിപ്പോയോ എന്നു ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ വസ്തുത അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ആളയച്ചു.

5. For this cause I, also, not waiting any longer, have sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter has tempted you and our labour is in vain.

6. ഇപ്പോഴോ, തിമൊഥെയൊസ് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു വന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തെയും സ്നേഹത്തെയും പറ്റിയും ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെ കാണ്മാന് വാഞ്ഛിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ നിങ്ങള് ഞങ്ങളെയും കാണ്മാന് വാഞ്ഛിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എപ്പോഴും നല്ല ഔര്മ്മ ഉണ്ടു എന്നും ഞങ്ങളോടു സദ്വര്ത്തമാനം അറിയിച്ച കാരണത്താല്,

6. But now when Timothy came from you unto us and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also [to see] you.

7. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ സകല കഷ്ടത്തിലും സങ്കടത്തിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസം ഹേതുവായി ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു ആശ്വാസം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

7. Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our tribulation and need by your faith;

8. നിങ്ങള് കര്ത്താവില് നിലനിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു ഞങ്ങള് വീണ്ടും ജീവിക്കുന്നു.

8. for now we live, if ye stand fast in the Lord.

9. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് നിങ്ങളെച്ചൊല്ലി ഞങ്ങള് സന്തോഷിക്കുന്ന സകല സന്തോഷത്തിന്നും തക്കതായി ദൈവത്തിന്നു എന്തൊരു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്വാന് ഞങ്ങളാല് കഴിയും?

9. For what thanks can we render to God again for you for all the joy with which we joy for your sakes before our God,

10. ഇനി നിങ്ങളുടെ മുഖം കാണ്മാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്റെ കുറവു തീര്പ്പാനുമായി ഞങ്ങള് രാവും പകലും വളരെ താല്പര്യത്തോടെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചുപോരുന്നു.

10. night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face and might complete that which is lacking in your faith?

11. നമ്മുടെ ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവനും നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശുവും ഞങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് വഴിനിരത്തിത്തരുമാറാകട്ടെ.

11. Now [may] God himself and our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ direct our way unto you.

12. എന്നാല് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള സ്നേഹം വര്ദ്ധിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ കര്ത്താവു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു തമ്മിലും എല്ലാവരോടുമുള്ള സ്നേഹം വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിച്ചു കവിയുമാറാക്കുകയും

12. And the Lord make you to multiply and make charity to abound among you and toward all [men], even as it [is] with us toward you,

13. ഇങ്ങനെ നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവായ യേശു തന്റെ സകലവിശുദ്ധന്മാരുമായി വരുന്ന പ്രത്യക്ഷതയില് നമ്മുടെ ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വിശുദ്ധീകരണത്തില് അനിന്ദ്യരായി വെളിപ്പെടുംവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.

13. that your hearts may be confirmed in holiness, irreprehensible before God, even our Father, for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.:
