1. നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കല്പനപ്രകാരം എന്നെ ഭരമേല്പിച്ച പ്രസംഗത്താല് തക്കസമയത്തു തന്റെ വചനം വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയ

1. Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is according to godliness,

2. ഭോഷ്കില്ലാത്ത ദൈവം സകല കാലത്തിന്നും മുമ്പെ വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത നിത്യജീവന്റെ പ്രത്യാശ ഹേതുവായി

2. in hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began,

3. തന്റെ വൃതന്മാരുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തിന്നും ഭക്തിക്കനുസാരമായ സത്യത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നുമായി ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസനും യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ അപ്പൊസ്തലനുമായ പൌലൊസ്

3. but hath in due times manifested His Word through preaching which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Savior,

4. പൊതുവിശ്വാസത്തില് നിജപുത്രനായ തീത്തൊസിന്നു എഴുതുന്നതുപിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിങ്കല് നിന്നും നമ്മുടെ രക്ഷിതാവായ ക്രിസ്തു യേശുവിങ്കല് നിന്നും, നിനക്കു കൃപയും സമാധാനവും ഉണ്ടാകട്ടെ.

4. To Titus, my own son in the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

5. ഞാന് ക്രേത്തയില് നിന്നെ വിട്ടേച്ചുപോന്നതുശേഷിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളെ ക്രമത്തിലാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചതു പോലെ പട്ടണംതോറും മൂപ്പന്മാരെ ആക്കി വെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും തന്നേ.

5. For this cause I left thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

6. മൂപ്പന് കുറ്റമില്ലാത്തവനും ഏകഭാര്യയുള്ളവനും ദുര്ന്നടപ്പിന്റെ ശ്രുതിയോ അനുസരണക്കേടോ ഇല്ലാത്ത വിശ്വാസികളായ മക്കളുള്ളവനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

6. if any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children, not accused of riot or unruly.

7. അദ്ധ്യക്ഷന് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഗൃഹവിചാരകനാകയാല് അനിന്ദ്യനായിരിക്കേണം; തന്നിഷ്ടക്കാരനും കോപിയും മദ്യപ്രിയനും തല്ലുകാരനും ദുര്ല്ലാഭമോഹിയും അരുതു.

7. For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God, not selfwilled, not quick to anger, not given to wine, not violent, not given to filthy lucre;

8. അതിഥിപ്രിയനും സല്ഗുണപ്രിയനും സുബോധശീലനും നീതിമാനും നിര്മ്മലനും ജിതേന്ദ്രിയനും പത്ഥ്യോപദേശത്താല് പ്രബോധിപ്പിപ്പാനും വിരോധികള്ക്കു ബോധം വരുത്തുവാനും ശക്തനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ഉപദേശപ്രകാരമുള്ള വിശ്വാസ്യവചനം മുറുകെപ്പിടിക്കുന്നവനും ആയിരിക്കേണം.

8. but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate,

9. വൃഥാവാചാലന്മാരും മനോവഞ്ചകന്മാരുമായി വഴങ്ങാത്തവരായ പലരും ഉണ്ടല്ലോ;

9. holding fast the faithful Word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10. വിശേഷാല് പരിച്ഛേദനക്കാര് തന്നേ. അവരുടെ വായ് അടെക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു. അവര് ദുരാദായം വിചാരിച്ചു അരുതാത്തതു ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു കുടുംബങ്ങളെ മുഴുവനും മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

10. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the Circumcision,

11. ക്രേത്തര് സര്വ്വദാ അസത്യവാദികളും ദുഷ്ടജന്തുക്കളും മടിയന്മാരായ പെരുവയറന്മാരും അത്രേ എന്നു അവരില് ഒരുവന് , അവരുടെ ഒരു വിദ്വാന് തന്നേ, പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

11. whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not for the sake of filthy lucre.

12. ഈ സാക്ഷ്യം നേര് തന്നേ; അതു നിമിത്തം അവര് വിശ്വാസത്തില് ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവരായിത്തീരേണ്ടതിന്നും

12. One among themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, 'The Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, slothful gluttons.'

13. യെഹൂദകഥകളെയും സത്യം വിട്ടകലുന്ന മനുഷ്യരുടെ കല്പനകളെയും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും അവരെ കഠിനമായി ശാസിക്ക.

13. This witness is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith,

14. ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവര്ക്കും എല്ലാം ശുദ്ധം തന്നേ; എന്നാല് മലിനന്മാര്ക്കും അവിശ്വാസികള്ക്കും ഒന്നും ശുദ്ധമല്ല; അവരുടെ ചിത്തവും മനസ്സാക്ഷിയും മലിനമായി തീര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

14. not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth.

15. അവര് ദൈവത്തെ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിലും പ്രവൃത്തികളാല് അവനെ നിഷേധിക്കുന്നു. അവര് അറെക്കത്തക്കവരും അനുസരണം കെട്ടവരും യാതൊരു നല്ല കാര്യത്തിന്നും കൊള്ളരുതാത്തവരുമാകുന്നു.

15. Unto the pure, all things are pure; but unto those who are defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
