1. എന്നാല് കള്ളപ്രവാചകന്മാരും ജനത്തിന്റെ ഇടയില് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലും ദുരുപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാര് ഉണ്ടാകും; അവര് നാശകരമായ മതഭേദങ്ങളെ നുഴയിച്ചു തങ്ങളെ വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിയ നാഥനെ തള്ളിപ്പറഞ്ഞു തങ്ങള്ക്കു തന്നേ ശീഘ്രനാശം വരുത്തും.

1. But there were false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly put forward wrong teachings for your destruction, even turning away from the Lord who gave himself for them; whose destruction will come quickly, and they themselves will be the cause of it.

2. അവരുടെ ദുഷ്കാമപ്രവൃത്തികളെ പലരും അനുകരിക്കും; അവര് നിമിത്തം സത്യമാര്ഗ്ഗം ദുഷിക്കപ്പെടും.
യെശയ്യാ 52:5

2. And a great number will go with them in their evil ways, through whom the true way will have a bad name.

3. അവര് ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹത്തില് കൌശലവാക്കു പറഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെ വാണിഭം ആക്കും. അവര്ക്കും പൂര്വ്വകാലംമുതല് ന്യായവിധി താമസിയാതെ വരുന്നു; അവരുടെ നാശം ഉറങ്ങുന്നതുമില്ല.

3. And in their desire for profit they will come to you with words of deceit, like traders doing business in souls: whose punishment has been ready for a long time and their destruction is watching for them.

4. പാപം ചെയ്ത ദൂതന്മാരെ ദൈവം ആദരിക്കാതെ അന്ധതമസ്സിന്റെ ചങ്ങലയിട്ടു നരകത്തിലാക്കി ന്യായവിധിക്കായി കാപ്പാന് ഏല്പിക്കയും

4. For if God did not have pity for the angels who did evil, but sent them down into hell, to be kept in chains of eternal night till they were judged;

5. പുരാതനലോകത്തെയും ആദരിക്കാതെ ഭക്തികെട്ടവരുടെ ലോകത്തില് ജലപ്രളയം വരുത്തിയപ്പോള് നീതിപ്രസംഗിയായ നോഹയെ ഏഴു പേരോടുകൂടെ പാലിക്കയും

5. And did not have mercy on the world which then was, but only kept safe Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when he let loose the waters over the world of the evil-doers;

6. സൊദോം ഗൊമോറ എന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളെ ഭസ്മീകരിച്ചു ഉന്മൂലനാശത്താല് ന്യായം വിധിച്ചു മേലാല് ഭക്തികെട്ടു നടക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും

6. And sent destruction on Sodom and Gomorrah, burning them up with fire as an example to those whose way of life might in the future be unpleasing to him;

7. ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമാക്കിവെക്കയും അധര്മ്മികളുടെ ഇടയില് വസിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോള് നാള്തോറും അധര്മ്മപ്രവൃത്തി കണ്ടും കേട്ടും

7. And kept safe Lot, the upright man, who was deeply troubled by the unclean life of the evil-doers

8. തന്റെ നീതിയുള്ള മനസ്സില് നൊന്തു അവരുടെ ദുഷ്കാമപ്രവൃത്തിയാല് വലഞ്ഞുപോയ നീതിമാനായ ലോത്തിനെ വിടുവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

8. (Because the soul of that upright man living among them was pained from day to day by seeing and hearing their crimes):

9. കര്ത്താവു ഭക്തന്മാരെ പരീക്ഷയില്നിന്നു വിടുവിപ്പാനും നീതികെട്ടവരെ, വിശേഷാല് മലിന മോഹംകൊണ്ടു ജഡത്തെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കയും കര്ത്തൃത്വത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരെ തന്നേ,

9. The Lord is able to keep the upright safe in the time of testing, and to keep evil-doers under punishment till the day of judging;

10. ന്യായവിധിദിവസത്തിലെ ദണ്ഡനത്തിന്നായി കാപ്പാനും അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

10. But specially those who go after the unclean desires of the flesh, and make sport of authority. Ready to take chances, uncontrolled, they have no fear of saying evil of those in high places:

11. ബലവും ശക്തിയും ഏറിയ ദൂതന്മാര് കര്ത്താവിന്റെ സന്നിധിയില് അവരുടെ നേരെ ദൂഷണവിധി ഉച്ചരിക്കാതിരിക്കെ, ആ ധാര്ഷ്ട്യമുള്ള തന്നിഷ്ടക്കാര് മഹിമകളെ ദുഷിപ്പാന് ശങ്കിക്കുന്നില്ല. ജാത്യാപിടിപെട്ടു നശിപ്പാന് പിറന്ന ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത ജന്തുക്കളെപ്പോലെ അവര് അറിയാത്തതിനെ ദുഷിക്കയാല് അനീതിയുടെ കൂലി അനുഭവിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സ്വന്ത വഷളത്വത്താല് നശിച്ചുപോകും.

11. Though the angels, who are greater in strength and power, do not make use of violent language against them before the Lord.

12. അവര് താല്ക്കാലിക ഭോഗതൃപ്തി സുഖം എന്നുവെച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്നേഹസദ്യകളില് നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വിരുന്നുകഴിഞ്ഞു പുളെക്കുന്ന കറകളും കളങ്കങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു.

12. But these men, like beasts without reason, whose natural use is to be taken and put to death, crying out against things of which they have no knowledge, will undergo that same destruction which they are designing for others;

13. അവര് വ്യഭിചാരിണിയെ കണ്ടു രസിക്കയും പാപം കണ്ടു തൃപ്തിപ്പെടാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കണ്ണുള്ളവരും സ്ഥിരമില്ലാത്ത ദേഹികളെ വശീകരിക്കുന്നവരും ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹത്തില് അഭ്യാസം തികഞ്ഞ ഹൃദയമുള്ളവരുമായ ശാപയോഗ്യന്മാര്.

13. For the evil which overtakes them is the reward of their evil-doing: such men take their pleasure in the delights of the flesh even in the daytime; they are like the marks of a disease, like poisoned wounds among you, feasting together with you in joy;

14. അവര് നേര്വഴി വിട്ടു തെറ്റി ബെയോരിന്റെ മകനായ ബിലെയാമിന്റെ വഴിയില് നടന്നു.

14. Having eyes full of evil desire, never having enough of sin; turning feeble souls out of the true way; they are children of cursing, whose hearts are well used to bitter envy;

15. അവന് അനീതിയുടെ കൂലി കൊതിച്ചു എങ്കിലും തന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തിന്നു ശാസന കിട്ടി; ഉരിയാടാക്കഴുത മനുഷ്യവാക്കായി ഉരിയാടി പ്രവാചകന്റെ ബുദ്ധിഭ്രമത്തെ തടുത്തുവല്ലോ.

15. Turning out of the true way, they have gone wandering in error, after the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who was pleased to take payment for wrongdoing;

16. അവര് വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത കിണറുകളും കൊടുങ്കാറ്റുകൊണ്ടു ഔടുന്ന മഞ്ഞു മേഘങ്ങളും ആകുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും കൂരിരുട്ടു സംഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. But his wrongdoing was pointed out to him: an ass, talking with a man's voice, put a stop to the error of the prophet.

17. വഴിതെറ്റി നടക്കുന്നവരോടു ഇപ്പോള് അകന്നുവന്നവരെ ഇവര് വെറും വമ്പുപറഞ്ഞു ദുഷ്കാമവൃത്തികളാല് കാമഭോഗങ്ങളില് കുടുക്കുന്നു.

17. These are fountains without water, and mists before a driving storm; for whom the eternal night is kept in store.

18. തങ്ങള് തന്നേ നാശത്തിന്റെ അടിമകളായിരിക്കെ മറ്റവര്ക്കും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തെ വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഒരുത്തന് ഏതിനോടു തോലക്കുന്നുവോ അതിന്നു അടിമപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

18. For with high-sounding false words, making use of the attraction of unclean desires of the flesh, they get into their power those newly made free from those who are living in error;

19. കര്ത്താവും രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്താല് ലോകത്തിന്റെ മാലിന്യം വിട്ടോടിയവര് അതില് വീണ്ടും കുടുങ്ങി തോറ്റുപോയാല് അവരുടെ ഒടുവിലത്തെ സ്ഥിതി ആദ്യത്തേതിനെക്കാള് അധികം വഷളായിപ്പോയി.

19. Saying that they will be free, while they themselves are the servants of destruction; because whatever gets the better of a man makes a servant of him.

20. തങ്ങള്ക്കു ഏല്പിച്ചുകിട്ടിയ വിശുദ്ധകല്പനയെ നീതിയുടെ വഴി അറിഞ്ഞശേഷം വിട്ടുകളയുന്നതിനെക്കാള് അതു അറിയാതിരിക്കുന്നതു അവര്ക്കും നന്നായിരുന്നു.

20. For if, after they have got free from the unclean things of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again taken in the net and overcome, their last condition is worse than their first.

21. എന്നാല് സ്വന്ത ഛര്ദ്ദിക്കു തിരിഞ്ഞ നായെന്നും കുളിച്ചിട്ടു ചളിയില് ഉരളുവാന് തിരിഞ്ഞ പന്നിയെന്നും ഉള്ള സത്യമായ പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലുപോലെ അവര്ക്കും സംഭവിച്ചു.

21. For it would have been better for them to have had no knowledge of the way of righteousness, than to go back again from the holy law which was given to them, after having knowledge of it.
