1. പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, ഞാന് ഇപ്പോള് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു രണ്ടാം ലേഖനമല്ലോ.

1. Beloved, I now write unto you this second epistle, in which I alert with exhortation your pure understanding,

2. വിശുദ്ധ പ്രവാചകന്മാര് മുന് പറഞ്ഞ വചനങ്ങളും നിങ്ങളുടെ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാര് മുഖാന്തരം കര്ത്താവും രക്ഷിതാവുമായവന് തന്ന കല്പനയും ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ളേണമെന്നു ഈ ലേഖനം രണ്ടിനാലും ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ ഔര്മ്മപ്പെടുത്തി നിങ്ങളുടെ പരമാര്ത്ഥമനസ്സു ഉണര്ത്തുന്നു.

2. that ye keep in memory the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets and of our commandment, that we are apostles of the Lord and Saviour,

3. അവന്റെ പ്രത്യക്ഷതയുടെ വാഗ്ദത്തം എവിടെ?

3. knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts

4. പിതാക്കന്മാര് നിദ്രകൊണ്ടശേഷം സകലവും സൃഷ്ടിയുടെ ആരംഭത്തില് ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു സ്വന്തമോഹങ്ങളെ അനുസരിച്ചുനടക്കുന്ന പരിഹാസികള് പരിഹാസത്തോടെ അന്ത്യകാലത്തു വരുമെന്നു വിശേഷാല് അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്വിന് .

4. and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the day in which the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation.

5. ആകാശവും വെള്ളത്തില്നിന്നും വെള്ളത്താലും ഉളവായ ഭൂമിയും പണ്ടു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വചനത്താല് ഉണ്ടായി എന്നും

5. Of course, they willingly ignore that the heavens were [created] of old and the earth standing out of the water and in the water, by the word of God;

6. അതിനാല് അന്നുള്ള ലോകം ജലപ്രളയത്തില് മുങ്ങി നശിച്ചു എന്നും

6. by which the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished;

7. ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ആകാശവും ഭൂമിയും അതേ വചനത്താല് തീക്കായി സൂക്ഷിച്ചും ന്യായവിധിയും ഭക്തികെട്ട മനുഷ്യരുടെ നാശവും സംഭവിപ്പാനുള്ള ദിവസത്തേക്കു കാത്തുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നും അവര് മനസ്സോടെ മറന്നുകളയുന്നു.

7. but the heavens, which are now, and the earth are conserved by the same word, kept unto the fire in the day of judgment and of perdition of the ungodly men.

8. എന്നാല് പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, കര്ത്താവിന്നു ഒരു ദിവസം ആയിരം സംവത്സരംപോലെയും ആയിരം സംവത്സരം ഒരു ദിവസംപോലെയും ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നീ കാര്യ്യം നിങ്ങള് മറക്കരുതു.

8. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day before the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years are as one day.

9. The Lord is not late concerning his promise, as some count lateness, but is patient with us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10. കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദിവസമോ കള്ളനെപ്പോലെ വരും. അന്നു ആകാശം കൊടുമ്മുഴക്കത്തോടെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകും; മൂലപദാര്ത്ഥങ്ങള് കത്തിയഴികയും ഭൂമിയും അതിലുള്ള പണികളും വെന്തുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

10. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements, burning, shall be dissolved, and the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up.

11. ഇങ്ങനെ ഇവ ഒക്കെയും അഴിവാനുള്ളതായിരിക്കയാല് ആകാശം ചുട്ടഴിവാനും മൂലപദാര്ത്ഥങ്ങള് വെന്തുരുകുവാനും ഉള്ള ദൈവദിവസത്തിന്റെ വരവു കാത്തിരുന്നും ബദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയുംകൊണ്ടു

11. [Seeing] then [that] all these things shall be dissolved, what manner [of persons] ought ye to be in [all] holy conversation and godliness,

12. നിങ്ങള് എത്ര വിശുദ്ധജീവനവും ഭക്തിയും ഉള്ളവര് ആയിരിക്കേണം.
യെശയ്യാ 34:4

12. waiting for and desiring earnestly for the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13. എന്നാല് നാം അവന്റെ വാഗ്ദത്തപ്രകാരം നീതി വസിക്കുന്ന പുതിയ ആകാശത്തിന്നും പുതിയ ഭൂമിക്കുമായിട്ടു കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

13. Nevertheless we, according to his promises, wait for new heavens and a new earth, in which dwells righteousness.

14. അതുകൊണ്ടു പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, നിങ്ങള് ഇവെക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കയാല് അവന് നിങ്ങളെ കറയും കളങ്കവും ഇല്ലാത്തവരായി സമാധാനത്തോടെ കാണ്മാന് ഉത്സാഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവിന്റെ ദീര്ഘക്ഷമയെ രക്ഷ എന്നു വിചാരിപ്പിന് .

14. Therefore, beloved, seeing that ye hope for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot and blameless.

15. അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നമ്മുടെ പ്രിയ സഹോദരനായ പൌലൊസും തനിക്കു ലഭിച്ച ജ്ഞാനത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങള്ക്കും ഇതിനെക്കുറിച്ചു സംസാരിക്കുന്ന സകല ലേഖനങ്ങളിലും എഴുതീട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.

15. And have as saving health the patience of our Lord, even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him has written unto you

16. അവയില് ഗ്രഹിപ്പാന് പ്രയാസമുള്ളതു ചിലതുണ്ടു. അറിവില്ലാത്തവരും അസ്ഥിരന്മാരുമായവര് ശേഷം തിരുവെഴുത്തുകളെപ്പോലെ അതും തങ്ങളുടെ നാശത്തിന്നായി കോട്ടിക്കളയുന്നു.

16. in almost all [his] epistles, speaking in them of these things, among which are some things [that] are hard to understand, which those that are ignorant and unstable twist, as [they do] also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

17. എന്നാല് പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, നിങ്ങള് മുമ്പുകൂട്ടി അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അധര്മ്മികളുടെ വഞ്ചനയില് കുടുങ്ങി സ്വന്ത സ്ഥിരതവിട്ടു വീണു പോകാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്വിന് ,

17. Ye, therefore, beloved, seeing ye know [these things] in advance, be on guard lest by the error of the wicked ye be deceived with the others and fall from your own steadfastness.

18. കൃപയിലും നമ്മുടെ കര്ത്താവും രക്ഷിതാവുമായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിലും വളരുവിന് . അവന്നു ഇപ്പോഴും എന്നെന്നേക്കും മഹത്വം. ആമേന് .

18. But grow in grace and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and until the day of eternity. Amen.:
