1. And the two angels came to Sodom at evening. And Lot sat by the gate of Sodom. And Lot, having seen them, rose up to meet them, and he worshipped with his face to the ground, and said,

2. യജമാനന്മാരേ, അടിയന്റെ വീട്ടില് വന്നു നിങ്ങളുടെ കാലുകളെ കഴുകി രാപാര്പ്പിന് ; കാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിങ്ങളുടെ വഴിക്കു പോകയുമാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഅല്ല, ഞങ്ങള് വീഥിയില് തന്നേ രാപാര്ക്കും എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Lo! My lords, turn aside to the house of your servant, and rest from your journey, and wash your feet, and having risen early in the morning you shall depart on your journey. And they said, No, but we will lodge in the street.

3. അവന് അവരെ ഏറ്റവും നിര്ബന്ധിച്ചു; അപ്പോള് അവര് അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് തിരിഞ്ഞു അവന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു; അവന് അവര്ക്കും വിരുന്നൊരുക്കി, പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം ചുട്ടു; അവര് ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു.

3. And he constrained them, and they turned aside to him, and they entered into his house, and he made a feast for them, and baked unleavened cakes for them, and they did eat.

4. അവര് ഉറങ്ങുവാന് പോകുമ്മുമ്പെ സൊദോംപട്ടണത്തിലെ പുരുഷന്മാര് സകല ഭാഗത്തുനിന്നും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം എല്ലാവരുംവന്നു വീടു വളഞ്ഞു.

4. But before they went to sleep, the men of the city, the Sodomites, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people together.

5. അവര് ലോത്തിനെ വിളിച്ചുഈരാത്രി നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്ന പുരുഷന്മാര് എവിടെ? ഞങ്ങള് അവരെ ഭോഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവാ എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And they called out Lot, and said to him, Where are the men that came to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may be with them.

6. ലോത്ത് വാതില്ക്കല് അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു ചെന്നു, കതകു അടെച്ചുംവെച്ചു

6. And Lot went out to them to the porch, and he shut the door after him,

7. സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഇങ്ങനെ ദോഷം ചെയ്യരുതേ.

7. and said to them, By no means, brethren, do not act so wickedly.

8. പുരുഷന് തൊടാത്ത രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാര് എനിക്കുണ്ടു; അവരെ ഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരാം; നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ബോധിച്ചതുപോലെ അവരോടു ചെയ്തുകൊള്വിന് ; ഈ പുരുഷന്മാരോടു മാത്രം ഒന്നും ചെയ്യരുതേ; ഇതിന്നായിട്ടല്ലോ അവര് എന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ നിഴലില് വന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

8. But I have two daughters, who have not known a man. I will bring them out to you, and use them as it may please you, only do no injury to these men, since this is the reason they have come under the shelter of my roof.

9. മാറിനില്ക്ക എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇവനൊരുത്തന് പരദേശിയായി വന്നു പാര്ക്കുംന്നു; ന്യായംവിധിപ്പാനും ഭാവിക്കുന്നു. ഇപ്പോള് ഞങ്ങള് അവരോടു ഭാവിച്ചതിലധികം നിന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്യും എന്നും അവര് പറഞ്ഞു ലോത്തിനെ ഏറ്റവും തിക്കി വാതില് പൊളിപ്പാന് അടുത്തു.

9. And they said to him, Stand back! You came here to sojourn, was it also to judge? Now then we would harm you more than them. And they pressed hard on the man, even Lot, and they drew near to break down the door.

10. അപ്പോള് ആ പുരുാഷന്മാര് കൈ പുറത്തോട്ടു നീട്ടി ലോത്തിനെ തങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കല് അകത്തു കയറ്റി വാതില്അടെച്ചു,

10. And the men stretched forth their hands and drew Lot in to them into the house, and shut the door of the house.

11. വാതില്ക്കല് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പുരുഷന്മാര്ക്കും അബാലവൃദ്ധം അന്ധത പിടിപ്പിച്ചു. അതുകൊണ്ടു അവര് വാതില് തപ്പി നടന്നു വിഷമിച്ചു.

11. And they struck the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, and they were wearied with seeking the door.

12. ആ പുരുഷന്മാര് ലോത്തിനോടുഇവിടെ നിനക്കു മറ്റു വല്ലവരുമുണ്ടോ? മരുമക്കളോ പുത്രന്മാരോ പുത്രിമാരോ ഇങ്ങനെ പട്ടണത്തില് നിനക്കുള്ളവരെയൊക്കെയും ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപൊയ്ക്കെള്ക;

12. And the men said to Lot, Have you anyone else here? Son-in-law, or sons or daughters, or if you have any other friend in the city, bring them out of this place.

13. ഇവരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള ആവലാധി യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ വലുതായിത്തീര്ന്നിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങള് ഈ സ്ഥലത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കും. അതിനെ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് യഹോവ ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. For we are going to destroy this place; for their cry has been raised up before the Lord, and the Lord has sent us to destroy it.

14. അങ്ങനെ ലോത്ത് ചെന്നു തന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെ വിവാഹം ചെയ്വാനുള്ള മരുമക്കളോടു സംസാരിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഈ സ്ഥലം വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുവിന് ; യഹോവ ഈ പട്ടണം നശിപ്പിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാല് അവന് കളി പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവന്റെ മരുമക്കള്ക്കു തോന്നി.

14. And Lot went out, and spoke to his sons-in-law who had married his daughters, and said, Rise up, and depart out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city; but he seemed to be speaking absurdly before his sons-in-law.

15. ഉഷസ്സായപ്പോള് ദൂതന്മാര് ലോത്തിനെ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുത്തിഈ പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ അകൃത്യത്തില് നശിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയെയും ഇവിടെ കാണുന്ന നിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപൊയ്ക്കള്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. But when it was morning, the angels urged Lot, saying, Arise and take your wife, and your two daughters whom you have, and go forth; lest you also be destroyed with the iniquities of the city.

16. അവന് താമസിച്ചപ്പോള്, യഹോവ അവനോടു കരുണ ചെയ്കയാല്, ആ പുരുഷന്മാര് അവനെയും ഭാര്യയെയും രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരെയും കൈകൂ പിടിച്ചു പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയിആക്കി.

16. And they were troubled, and the angels laid hold on his hand, and the hand of his wife, and the hands of his two daughters, in that the Lord spared him.

17. അവരെ പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ശേഷം അവന് ജീവരക്ഷെക്കായി ഔടിപ്പോകപുറകോട്ടു നോക്കരുതു; ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെങ്ങും നില്ക്കയുമരുതു; നിനക്കു നാശം ഭവിക്കാതിരിപ്പാന് പര്വ്വതത്തിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോക എന്നുപറഞ്ഞു.

17. And it came to pass when they brought them out, that they said, Save your own life by all means; look not round to that which is behind, nor stay in all the country round about, escape to the mountain, lest perhaps you be overtaken together with them.

18. ലോത്ത് അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅങ്ങനെയല്ല കര്ത്താവേ;

18. And Lot said to them, I pray, my lords,

19. നിനക്കു അടിയനോടു കൃപ തോന്നിയല്ലോ; എന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാന് എനിക്കു വലിയ കൃപ നീ കാണിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; പര്വ്വതത്തില് ഔടി എത്തുവാന് എനിക്കു കഴികയില്ല; പക്ഷേ എനിക്കു ദോഷം തട്ടി മരണം ഭവിക്കും.

19. since your servant has found mercy before you, and you have magnified your righteousness, in what you do towards me that my soul may live,- but I shall not be able to escape to the mountain, lest perhaps the calamity overtake me and I die.

20. ഇതാ, ഈ പട്ടണം സമീപമാകുന്നു; അവിടേക്കു എനിക്കു ഔടാം; അതു ചെറിയതുമാകുന്നു; ഞാന് അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പേകട്ടെ. അതു ചെറിയതല്ലോ; എന്നാല് എനിക്കു ജീവരക്ഷ ഉണ്ടാകും.

20. Behold, this city is near for me to escape to, which is a small one, and there shall I be preserved, is it not little? And my soul shall live because of you.

21. അവന് അവനോടുഇക്കാര്യത്തിലും ഞാന് നിന്നെ കടാക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നീ പറഞ്ഞ പട്ടണം ഞാന് മറിച്ചുകളകയില്ല.

21. And he said to him, Behold, I have had respect to you also about this thing, that I should not overthrow the city about which you have spoken.

22. ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു അവിടേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോക; നീ അവിടെ എത്തുവോളം എനിക്കു ഒന്നും ചെയ്വാന് കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതു കൊണ്ടു ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു സോവര് എന്നു പേരായി.

22. Hurry, therefore, to escape there, for I shall not be able to do anything until you arrive there; therefore he called the name of that city, Zoar.

23. ലോത്ത് സോവരില് കടന്നപ്പോള് സൂര്യന് ഉദിച്ചിരുന്നു.

23. The sun was risen upon the earth, when Lot entered into Zoar.

24. യഹോവ സൊദോമിന്റെയും ഗൊമോരയുടെയും മേല് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില്നിന്നു, ആകാശത്തു നിന്നു തന്നെ, ഗന്ധകവും തീയും വര്ഷിപ്പിച്ചു.

24. And the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.

25. ആ പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കും പ്രദേശത്തിന്നും മുഴുവനും ആ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലെ സകലനിവാസികള്ക്കും നിലത്തെ സസ്യങ്ങള്ക്കും ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തി.

25. And He overthrew these cities, and all the country round about, and all that dwelt in the cities, and the plants springing out of the ground.

26. ലോത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യ അവന്റെ പിന്നില്നിന്നു തിരിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി ഉപ്പുതൂണായി ഭവിച്ചു.

26. And his wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

27. അബ്രാഹാം രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു താന് യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയില് നിന്നിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തു ചെന്നു,

27. And Abraham rose up early to go to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

28. സൊദോമിന്നും ഗൊമോരെക്കും ആ പ്രദേശത്തിലെ സകലദിക്കിന്നും നേരെ നോക്കി, ദേശത്തിലെ പുക തീച്ചൂളയിലെ പുകപോലെ പൊങ്ങുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

28. And he looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah, and towards the surrounding country, and saw, and behold, a flame went up from the earth, as the smoke of a furnace.

29. എന്നാല് ആ പ്രദേശത്തിലെപട്ടണങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുമ്പോള് ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിനെ ഔര്ത്തു ലോത്ത് പാര്ത്ത പട്ടണങ്ങള്ക്കു ഉന്മൂലനാശം വരുത്തുകയില് ലോത്തിനെ ആ ഉന്മൂലനാശത്തില്നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു.

29. And it came to pass, that when God destroyed all the cities of the region round about, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when the Lord overthrew those cities in which Lot dwelt.

30. അനന്തരം ലോത്ത് സോവര് വിട്ടുപോയി; അവനും അവന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരും പര്വ്വതത്തില് ചെന്നു പാര്ത്തു; സോവരില് പാര്പ്പാന് അവന് ഭയപ്പെട്ടു; അവനും അവന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരും ഒരു ഗുഹയില് പാര്ത്തു.

30. And Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, he and his two daughters with him, for he feared to dwell in Zoar; and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters with him.

31. അങ്ങനെയിരിക്കുമ്പോള് മൂത്തവള് ഇളയവളോടുനമ്മുടെ അപ്പന് വൃദ്ധനായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയില് എല്ലാടവും ഉള്ള നടപ്പുപോലെ നമ്മുടെ അടുക്കല് വരുവാന് ഭൂമിയില് ഒരു പുരുഷനും ഇല്ല.

31. And the elder said to the younger, Our father is old, and there is no one on the earth who shall come in to us, as it is fit in all the earth.

32. വരിക; അപ്പനാല് സന്തതി ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടുകൂടെ ശയിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

32. Come, let us make our father drink wine, and let us sleep with him, and let us raise up seed from our father.

33. അങ്ങനെ അന്നു രാത്രി അവര് അപ്പനെ വീഞ്ഞുകുടിപ്പിച്ചു; മൂത്തവള് അകത്തു ചെന്നു അപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു; അവള് ശയിച്ചതും എഴുന്നേറ്റതും അവന് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

33. So they made their father drink wine in that night, and the elder went in and lay with her father that night, and he knew not when he slept and when he rose up.

34. പിറ്റെന്നാള് മൂത്തവള് ഇളയവളോടുഇന്നലെ രാത്രി ഞാന് അപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു; നാം അവനെ ഇന്നു രാത്രിയും വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പിക്ക; അപ്പനാല് സന്തതി ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീയും അകത്തുചെന്നു അവനോടു കൂടെ ശയിക്ക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And it came to pass on the next day, that the elder said to the younger, Behold, I slept last night with our father, let us make him drink wine in this night also, and you go in and sleep with him, and let us raise up seed of our father.

35. അങ്ങനെ അന്നു രാത്രിയും അവര് അപ്പനെ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പിച്ചു; ഇളയവള് ചെന്നു അവനോടു കൂടെ ശയിച്ചു; അവള് ശയിച്ചതും എഴുന്നേറ്റതും അവന് അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

35. So they made their father drink wine in that night also, and the younger went in and slept with her father, and he knew not when he slept, nor when he arose.

36. ഇങ്ങനെ ലോത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാരും അപ്പനാല് ഗര്ഭം ധരിച്ചു.

36. And the two daughters of Lot conceived by their father.

37. മൂത്തവള് ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു അവന്നു മോവാബ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; അവന് ഇന്നുള്ള മോവാബ്യര്ക്കും പിതാവു.

37. And the elder bore a son and called his name Moab, saying, [He is] of my father. This is the father of the Moabites to this present day.

38. ഇളയവളും ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവന്നു ബെന് -അമ്മീ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു; അവന് ഇന്നുള്ള അമ്മോന്യര്ക്കും പിതാവു.

38. And the younger also bore a son, and called his name Ammon, saying, The son of my family. This is the father of the Ammonites to this present day.
