1. അബ്രാഹാം വയസ്സുചെന്നു വൃദ്ധനായി; യഹോവ അബ്രാഹാമിനെ സകലത്തിലും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരുന്നു.

1. Now Abraham was old and far on in years: and the Lord had given him everything in full measure.

2. തന്റെ വീട്ടില് മൂപ്പനും തനിക്കുള്ളതിന്നൊക്കെയും വിചാരകനുമായ ദാസനോടു അബ്രാഹാം പറഞ്ഞതുനിന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ തുടയിന് കീഴില് വെക്കുക;

2. And Abraham said to his chief servant, the manager of all his property, Come now, put your hand under my leg:

3. ചുറ്റും പാര്ക്കുംന്ന കനാന്യരുടെ കന്യകമാരില്നിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

3. And take an oath by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not get a wife for my son Isaac from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living;

4. എന്റെ ദേശത്തും എന്റെ ചാര്ച്ചക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കുമെന്നു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്നും ഭൂമിക്കും ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിക്കും.

4. But that you will go into my country and to my relations and get a wife there for my son Isaac.

5. ദാസന് അവനോടുപക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീക്കു എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഈ ദേശത്തേക്കു വരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കിലോ? നീ വിട്ടുപോന്ന ദേശത്തേക്കു ഞാന് നിന്റെ മകനെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകേണമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

5. And the servant said, If by chance the woman will not come with me into this land, am I to take your son back again to the land from which you came?

6. അബ്രാഹാം അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ മകനെ അവിടെക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകാതിരിപ്പാന് സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

6. And Abraham said, Take care that you do not let my son go back to that land.

7. എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തില്നിന്നും ജന്മദേശത്തുനിന്നും എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കു ഞാന് ഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കുമെന്നു എന്നോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തവനുമായി സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്റെ മകന്നു നീ ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ അവിടെനിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് തക്കവണ്ണം നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി തന്റെ ദൂതനെ അയക്കും.

7. The Lord God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my birth, and made an oath to me, saying, To your seed I will give this land: he will send his angel before you and give you a wife for my son in that land.

8. എന്നാല് സ്ത്രീക്കു നിന്നോടുകൂടെ വരുവാന് മനസ്സില്ലെങ്കില് നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില് നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; എന്റെ മകനെ അവിടേക്കു മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക മാത്രം അരുതു.

8. And if the woman will not come with you, then you are free from this oath; only do not take my son back there.

9. അപ്പോള് ദാസന് തന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ തുടയിന് കീഴില് കൈവെച്ചു അങ്ങനെ അവനോടു സത്യം ചെയ്തു.

9. And the servant put his hand under Abraham's leg, and gave him his oath about this thing.

10. അനന്തരം ആ ദാസന് തന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങളില് പത്തു ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെയും യജമാനന്നുള്ള വിവിധമായ വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കളെയും കൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മെസൊപ്പൊത്താമ്യയില് നാഹോരിന്റെ പട്ടണത്തില് ചെന്നു.

10. And the servant took ten of his master's camels, and all sorts of good things of his master's, and went to Mesopotamia, to the town of Nahor.

11. വൈകുന്നേരം സ്ത്രീകള് വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് വരുന്ന സമയത്തു അവന് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു പുറത്തു ഒരു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിറുത്തി പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

11. And he made the camels take their rest outside the town by the water-spring in the evening, at the time when the women came to get water.

12. എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിനോടു കൃപചെയ്തു ഇന്നുതന്നെ കാര്യം സാധിപ്പിച്ചുതരേണമേ.

12. And he said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, let me do well in what I have undertaken this day, and give your mercy to my master Abraham.

13. ഇതാ, ഞാന് കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്നു; ഈ പട്ടണക്കാരുടെ കന്യകമാര് വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് വരുന്നു.

13. See, I am waiting here by the water-spring; and the daughters of the town are coming out to get water:

14. നിന്റെ പാത്രം ഇറക്കി എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുമ്പോള്കുടിക്ക; നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു പറയുന്ന സ്ത്രീ തന്നേ നീ നിന്റെ ദാസനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു നിയമിച്ചവളായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നീ എന്റെ യജമാനനോടു കൃപ ചെയ്തു എന്നു ഞാന് അതിനാല് ഗ്രഹിക്കും.

14. Now, may the girl to whom I say, Let down your vessel and give me a drink, and who says in answer, Here is a drink for you and let me give water to your camels: may she be the one marked out by you for your servant Isaac: so may I be certain that you have been good to my master Abraham.

15. അവന് പറഞ്ഞു തീരുംമുമ്പെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ നാഹോരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ മില്ക്കയുടെ മകന് ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് റിബെക്കാ തോളില് പാത്രവുമായി വന്നു.

15. And even before his words were ended, Rebekah, the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, who was the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, came out with her water-vessel on her arm.

16. ബാല അതിസുന്ദരിയും പുരുഷന് തൊടാത്ത കന്യകയും ആയിരുന്നു; അവള് കിണറ്റില് ഇറങ്ങി പാത്രം നിറച്ചു കയറിവന്നു.

16. She was a very beautiful girl, a virgin, who had never been touched by a man: and she went down to the spring to get water in her vessel.

17. ദാസന് വേഗത്തില് അവളെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുനിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കുറെ എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And the servant came running to her and said, Give me a little water from your vessel.

18. യജമാനനേ, കുടിക്ക എന്നു അവള് പറഞ്ഞു വേഗം പാത്രം കയ്യില് ഇറക്കി അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു.

18. And she said, Take a drink, my lord: and quickly letting down her vessel onto her hand, she gave him a drink.

19. അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്ത ശേഷംനിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഞാന് കോരിക്കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു,

19. And having done so, she said, I will get water for your camels till they have had enough.

20. പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം വേഗം തൊട്ടിയില് ഒഴിച്ചു, പിന്നെയും കോരിക്കൊണ്ടുവരുവാന് കിണറ്റിലേക്കു ഔടി ഇറങ്ങി അവന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും എല്ലാം കോരിക്കൊടുത്തു.

20. And after putting the water from her vessel into the animals' drinking-place, she went quickly back to the spring and got water for all the camels.

21. ആ പുരുഷന് അവളെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി, യഹോവ തന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കിയോ ഇല്ലയോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു മിണ്ടാതിരുന്നു.

21. And the man, looking at her, said nothing, waiting to see if the Lord had given his journey a good outcome.

22. ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് കുടിച്ചു തീര്ന്നപ്പോള് അവന് അര ശേക്കെല് തൂക്കമുള്ള ഒരു പൊന്മൂകൂത്തിയും അവളുടെ കൈക്കിടുവാന് പത്തു ശേക്കെല് തൂക്കമുള്ള രണ്ടു പൊന് വളയും എടുത്തു അവളോടു

22. And when the camels had had enough, the man took a gold nose-ring, half a shekel in weight, and two ornaments for her arms of ten shekels weight of gold;

23. നീ ആരുടെ മകള്? പറക; നിന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടില് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു രാപാര്പ്പാന് സ്ഥലമുണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

23. And said to her, Whose daughter are you? is there room in your father's house for us?

24. അവള് അവനോടുനാഹോരിന്നു മില്ക്കാ പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് ആകുന്നു ഞാന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

24. And she said to him, I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Milcah, Nahor's wife.

25. ഞങ്ങളുടെയവിടെ വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും വേണ്ടുവോളം ഉണ്ടു; രാപാര്പ്പാന് സ്ഥലവും ഉണ്ടു എന്നും അവള് പറഞ്ഞു.

25. And she said, We have a great store of dry grass and cattle-food, and there is room for you.

26. അപ്പോള് ആ പുരുഷന് കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു

26. And with bent head the man gave worship to the Lord;

27. എന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; അവന് എന്റെ യജമാനനോടുള്ള ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഈ യാത്രയില് യഹോവ എന്നെ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടുവന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

27. And said, Praise be to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has given a sign that he is good and true to my master, by guiding me straight to the house of my master's family.

28. ബാല ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അമ്മയുടെ വീട്ടുകാരെ ഈ വസ്തുത അറിയിച്ചു.

28. So the girl went running and took the news of these things to her mother's house

29. റിബെക്കെക്കു ഒരു സഹോദരന് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവന്നു ലാബാന് എന്നു പേര്. ലാബാന് പുറത്തു കിണറ്റിങ്കല് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കല് ഔടിച്ചെന്നു.

29. Now Rebekah had a brother named Laban, and he came out quickly to the man at the water-spring.

30. അവന് മൂകൂത്തിയും സഹോദരിയുടെ കൈമേല് വളയും കാണുകയും ആ പുരുഷന് ഇന്നപ്രകാരം എന്നോടു പറഞ്ഞു എന്നു തന്റെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കയും ചെയ്തപ്പോള് ആ പുരുഷന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു; അവന് കിണറ്റിങ്കല് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളുടെ അരികെ നില്ക്കയായിരുന്നു.

30. And when he saw the nose-ring and the ornaments on his sister's hands, and when she gave him word of what the man had said to her, then he went out to the man who was waiting with the camels by the water-spring.

31. അപ്പോള് അവന് യഹോവയാല് അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവനേ, അകത്തു വരിക; എന്തിന്നു പുറത്തു നിലക്കുന്നു? വീടും ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കു സ്ഥലവും ഞാന് ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

31. And he said to him, Come in, you on whom is the blessing of the Lord; why are you waiting outside? for I have made the house ready for you, and a place for the camels.

32. അങ്ങനെ ആ പുരുഷന് വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു. അവന് ഒട്ടകങ്ങളെ കോപ്പഴിച്ചു ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കു വയ്ക്കോലും തീനും അവന്നും കൂടെയുള്ളവര്ക്കും കാലുകളെ കഴുകുവാന് വെള്ളവും കൊടുത്തു, അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് ഭക്ഷണം വെച്ചു.

32. Then the man came into the house, and Laban took their cords off the camels and gave them dry grass and food, and he gave to him and the men who were with him water for washing their feet.

33. ഞാന് വന്ന കാര്യം അറിയിക്കും മുമ്പെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയില്ല എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു. പറക എന്നു അവനും പറഞ്ഞു.

33. And meat was put before him, but he said, I will not take food till I have made my business clear to you. And they said, Do so.

34. അപ്പോള് അവന് പറഞ്ഞതുഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസന് .

34. And he said, I am Abraham's servant.

35. യഹോവ എന്റെ യജമാനനെ ഏറ്റവും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവന് മഹാനായിത്തീര്ന്നു; അവന് അവന്നു ആടു, മാടു, പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ദാസീദാസന്മാര്, ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് കഴുതകള് എന്നീവകയൊക്കെയും കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

35. The Lord has given my master every blessing, and he has become great: he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, and men-servants and women-servants and camels and asses.

36. എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ സാറാ വൃദ്ധയായശേഷം എന്റെ യജമാനന്നു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു; അവന് തനിക്കുള്ളതൊക്കെയും അവന്നു കൊടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

36. And when Sarah, my master's wife, was old, she gave birth to a son, to whom he has given all he has.

37. ഞാന് പാര്ക്കുംന്ന കനാന് ദേശത്തിലെ കനാന്യ കന്യകമാരില്നിന്നു നീ എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കാതെ,

37. And my master made me take an oath, saying, Do not get a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I am living;

38. എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിലും വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കലും ചെന്നു എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു യജമാനന് എന്നെക്കൊണ്ടു സത്യം ചെയ്യിച്ചു.

38. But go to my father's house and to my relations for a wife for my son.

39. ഞാന് യജമാനനോടുപക്ഷേ സ്ത്രീ എന്നോടുകൂടെ പേരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവന് എന്നോടു

39. And I said to my master, What if the woman will not come with me?

40. ഞാന് സേവിച്ചുപോരുന്ന യഹോവ തന്റെ ദൂതനെ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു, നീ എന്റെ വംശത്തില്നിന്നും പിതൃഭവനത്തില്നിന്നും എന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുപ്പാന്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്റെ യാത്രയെ സഫലമാക്കും;

40. And he said, The Lord, whom I have ever kept before me, will send his angel with you, who will make it possible for you to get a wife for my son from my relations and my father's house;

41. എന്റെ വംശക്കാരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നാല് നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില്നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും; അവര് നിനക്കു തരുന്നില്ല എന്നു വരികിലും നീ ഈ സത്യത്തില് നിന്നു ഒഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

41. And you will be free from your oath to me when you come to my people; and if they will not give her to you, you will be free from your oath.

42. ഞാന് ഇന്നു കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ വന്നപ്പോള് പറഞ്ഞതുഎന്റെ യജമാനനായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, ഞാന് വന്നിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ യാത്രയെ നീ സഫലമാക്കി എങ്കില്--

42. And I came today to the water-spring, and I said, O Lord, the God of my master Abraham, if it is your purpose to give a good outcome to my journey,

43. ഇതാ, ഞാന് കിണറ്റിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്നു; വെള്ളം കോരുവാന് ഒരു കന്യക വരികയും ഞാന് അവളോടുനിന്റെ പാത്രത്തിലെ വെള്ളം കുറെ എനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരിക എന്നു പറയുമ്പോള്, അവള് എന്നോടുകുടിക്ക,

43. Let it come about that, while I am waiting here by the water-spring, if a girl comes to get water and I say to her, Give me a little water from your vessel, and she says,

44. ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കോരി കൊടുക്കാമെന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്താല് അവള് തന്നേ യഹോവ എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു നിയമിച്ച സ്ത്രീയായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

44. Take a drink, and I will get water for your camels; let her be the woman marked out by the Lord for my master's son.

45. ഞാന് ഇങ്ങനെ ഹൃദയത്തില് പറഞ്ഞു തീരുമ്മുമ്പെ ഇതാ, റിബെക്കാ തോളില് പാത്രവുമായി വന്നു കിണറ്റില് ഇറങ്ങി വെള്ളം കോരി; ഞാന് അവളോടുഎനിക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

45. And even while I was saying this to myself, Rebekah came out with her vessel on her arm; and she went down to the spring to get water; and I said to her, Give me a drink.

46. അവള് വേഗം തോളില്നിന്നു പാത്രം ഇറക്കികുടിക്ക, ഞാന് നിന്റെ ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന് കുടിച്ചു; അവള് ഒട്ടകങ്ങള്ക്കും കുടിപ്പാന് കൊടുത്തു.

46. And straight away she took down her vessel from her arm, and said, Take a drink, and I will get water for your camels.

47. ഞാന് അവളോടുനീ ആരുടെ മകള് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവള്മില്ക്കാ നാഹോറിന്നു പ്രസവിച്ച മകനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകള് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഞാന് അവളുടെ മൂക്കിന്നു മൂകൂത്തിയും കൈകള്ക്കു വളയും ഇട്ടു.

47. And questioning her, I said, Whose daughter are you? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, the son of Nahor, and Milcah his wife. Then I put the ring on her nose and the ornaments on her hands.

48. ഞാന് കുനിഞ്ഞു യഹോവയെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു, എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മകളെ അവന്റെ മകന്നായിട്ടു എടുപ്പാന് എന്നെ നേര്വ്വഴിക്കു കൊണ്ടുവന്നവനായി എന്റെ യജമാനന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ വാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു.

48. And with bent head I gave worship and praise to the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, by whom I had been guided in the right way, to get the daughter of my master's brother for his son.

49. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് എന്റെ യജമാനനോടു ദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയും കാണിക്കുമെങ്കില് എന്നോടു പറവിന് ; അല്ല എന്നു വരികില് അതും പറവിന് ; എന്നാല് ഞാന് ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ തിരിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളാം.

49. And now, say if you will do what is good and right for my master or not, in order that it may be clear to me what I have to do.

50. അപ്പോള് ലാബാനും ബെഥൂവേലുംഈ കാര്യം യഹോവയാല് വരുന്നു; നിന്നോടു ഗുണമെങ്കിലും ദോഷമെങ്കിലും പറവാന് ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു കഴികയില്ല.

50. Then Laban and Bethuel said in answer, This is the Lord's doing: it is not for us to say Yes or No to you.

51. ഇതാ, റിബെക്കാ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഉണ്ടല്ലോ; അവളെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോക; യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവള് നിന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ മകന്നു ഭാര്യയാകട്ടെ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

51. See, here is Rebekah: take her and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the Lord has said.

52. അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസന് അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേട്ടപ്പോള് യഹോവയെ സാഷ്ടാംഗം നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

52. And at these words, Abraham's servant went down on his face and gave praise to the Lord.

53. പിന്നെ ദാസന് വെള്ളിയാഭരണങ്ങളും പൊന്നാഭരണങ്ങളും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും എടുത്തു റിബെക്കെക്കു കൊടുത്തു; അവളുടെ സഹോദരന്നും അമ്മെക്കും വിശേഷവസ്തുക്കള് കൊടുത്തു.

53. Then he took jewels of silver and jewels of gold and fair robes and gave them to Rebekah: and he gave things of value to her mother and her brother.

54. അവനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തു രാപാര്ത്തു. രാവിലെ അവര് എഴുന്നേറ്റശേഷം അവന് എന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കല് എന്നെ അയക്കേണമെന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

54. Then he and the men who were with him had food and drink, and took their rest there that night; and in the morning he got up, and said, Let me now go back to my master.

55. അതിന്നു അവളുടെ സഹോദരനും അമ്മയുംബാല ഒരു പത്തുദിവസമെങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പാര്ത്തിട്ടു പിന്നെ പോരട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

55. But her brother and her mother said, Let the girl be with us a week or ten days, and then she may go.

56. അവന് അവരോടുഎന്നെ താമസിപ്പിക്കരുതേ; യഹോവ എന്റെ യാത്ര സഫലമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; യജമാനന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോകുവാന് എന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

56. And he said, Do not keep me; the Lord has given a good outcome to my journey; let me now go back to my master.

57. ഞങ്ങള് ബാലയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു അവര് പറഞ്ഞു.

57. And they said, We will send for the girl, and let her make the decision.

58. അവര് റിബെക്കയെ വിളിച്ചു അവളോടുനീ ഈ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ പോകുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. ഞാന് പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവള് പറഞ്ഞു.

58. And they sent for Rebekah and said to her, Are you ready to go with this man? And she said, I am ready.

59. അങ്ങനെ അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരിയായ റിബെക്കയെയും അവളുടെ ധാത്രിയെയും അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദാസനെയും അവന്റെ ആളുകളെയും പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

59. So they sent their sister Rebekah and her servant with Abraham's servant and his men.

60. അവര് റിബെക്കയെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവളോടുസഹോദരീ, നീ അനേകായിരമായി തീരുക; നിന്റെ സന്തതി, തന്നെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ പടിവാതില് കൈവശമാക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

60. And they gave Rebekah their blessing, saying, O sister, may you be the mother of thousands and ten thousands; and may your seed overcome all those who make war against them.

61. പിന്നെ റിബെക്കയും അവളുടെ ദാസിമാരും എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തു കയറി ആ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ പോയി; അങ്ങനെ ദാസന് റിബെക്കയെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

61. So Rebekah and her servant-women went with the man, seated on the camels; and so the servant took Rebekah and went on his way.

62. എന്നാല് യിസ്ഹാക് ബേര്ലഹയിരോയീവരെ വന്നു; അവന് തെക്കേദേശത്തു പാര്ക്കയായിരുന്നു.

62. Now Isaac had come through the waste land to Beer-lahai-roi; for he was living in the South.

63. വൈകുന്നേരത്തു യിസ്ഹാക് ധ്യാനിപ്പാന് വെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു പോയിരുന്നു; അവന് തലപൊക്കി നോക്കി ഒട്ടകങ്ങള് വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു.

63. And when the evening was near, he went wandering out into the fields, and lifting up his eyes he saw camels coming.

64. റിബെക്കയും തലപൊക്കി യിസ്ഹാക്കിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു ഒട്ടകപ്പുറത്തുനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി.

64. And when Rebekah, looking up, saw Isaac, she got down from her camel,

65. അവള് ദാസനോടുവെളിന് പ്രദേശത്തു നമ്മെ എതിരേറ്റു വരുന്ന പുരുഷന് ആരെന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു എന്റെ യജമാനന് തന്നേ എന്നു ദാസന് പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് അവള് ഒരു മൂടുപടം എടുത്തു തന്നെ മൂടി.

65. And said to the servant, Who is that man coming to us through the field? And the servant said, It is my master: then she took her veil, covering her face with it.

66. താന് ചെയ്ത കാര്യം ഒക്കെയും ദാസന് യിസ്ഹാക്കിനോടു വിവരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

66. Then the servant gave Isaac the story of all he had done.

67. യിസ്ഹാക് അവളെ തന്റെ അമ്മയായ സാറയുടെ കൂടാരത്തില് കൊണ്ടു പോയി. അവന് റിബെക്കയെ പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു അവള് അവന്നു ഭാര്യയായിത്തീര്ന്നു; അവന്നു അവളില് സ്നേഹമായി. ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു തന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മരണദുഃഖം തീര്ന്നു.

67. And Isaac took Rebekah into his tent and she became his wife; and in his love for her, Isaac was comforted after his father's death.
