1. അനന്തരം യിസ്ഹാക് യാക്കോബിനെ വിളിച്ചു, അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു, അവനോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതുനീ കനാന്യ സ്ത്രീകളില്നിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കരുതു.

1. And so Isahac called Iacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and sayde vnto hym: See thou take not a wyfe of the daughters of Chanaan:

2. പുറപ്പെട്ടു പദ്ദന് -അരാമില് നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ അപ്പനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ വീട്ടില് ചെന്നു നിന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ സഹോദരനായ ലാബാന്റെ പുത്രിമാരില് നിന്നു നിനക്കു ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്ക.

2. Arise, and get thee to Mesopotamia, to the house of Bethuel thy mothers father, and there take thee a wyfe of the daughters of Laban thy mothers brother.

3. സര്വ്വശക്തനായ ദൈവം നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കയും നീ ജനസമൂഹമായി തീരത്തക്കവണ്ണം നിന്നെ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനായി പെരുക്കുകയും

3. And God almyghtie blesse thee, and make thee to encrease, & multiplie thee, that thou mayest be a number of people:

4. ദൈവം അബ്രാഹാമിന്നു കൊടുത്തതും നീ പരദേശിയായി പാര്ക്കുംന്നതുമായ ദേശം നീ കൈവശമാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ അനുഗ്രഹം നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും തരികയും ചെയ്യുമാറാകട്ടെ.

4. And geue the blessing of Abraham vnto thee, and to thy seede with thee, that thou mayest receaue to inherite ye lande wherein thou art a straunger, whiche God gaue vnto Abraham.

5. അങ്ങനെ യിസ്ഹാക് യാക്കോബിനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; അവന് പദ്ദന് -അരാമില് അരാമ്യനായ ബെഥൂവേലിന്റെ മകനും യാക്കോബിന്റെയും ഏശാവിന്റെയും അമ്മയായ റിബെക്കയുടെ സഹോദരനുമായ ലാബാന്റെ അടുക്കല് പോയി.

5. Thus Isahac sent foorth Iacob: and he went towarde Mesopotamia, vnto Laban, sonne of Bethuel the Syrian, and brother to Rebecca Iacob and Esaus mother.

6. യിസ്ഹാക് യാക്കോബിനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു പദ്ദന് -അരാമില്നിന്നു ഒരു ഭാര്യയെ എടുപ്പാന് അവനെ അവിടെക്കു അയച്ചതും, അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുമ്പോള്നീ കനാന്യസ്ത്രീകളില്നിന്നു ഭാര്യയെ എടുക്കരുതെന്നു അവനോടു കല്പിച്ചതും

6. When Esau sawe that Isahac had blessed Iacob, and sent hym to Mesopotamia to fet hym a wyfe from thence, and that as he blessed him, he gaue him a charge, saying, thou shalt not take a wyfe of the daughters of Chanaan:

7. യാക്കോബ് അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും അനുസരിച്ചു പദ്ദന് -അരാമിലേക്കു പോയതും ഏശാവ് അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോള്,

7. And that Iacob had obeyed his father and mother, and was gone to Mesopotamia:

8. കനാന്യസ്ത്രീകള് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളവരല്ല എന്നു കണ്ടു

8. And Esau seyng also that the daughters of Chanaan pleased not Isahac his father:

9. ഏശാവ് യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നു തനിക്കുള്ള ഭാര്യമാരെ കൂടാതെ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകനായ യിശ്മായേലിന്റെ മകളും നെബായോത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരിയുമായ മഹലത്തിനെയും വിവാഹം കഴിച്ചു.

9. Then went Esau vnto Ismael, and toke vnto the wyues [which he had] Mahalah the daughter of Ismael Abrahams sonne, the sister of Nebaioth to be his wyfe.

10. എന്നാല് യാക്കോബ് ബേര്-ശേബയില് നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഹാരാനിലേക്കു പോയി.

10. Iacob departed from Beer-seba, and went towarde Haran.

11. അവന് ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തു എത്തിയപ്പോള് സൂര്യന് അസ്തമിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവിടെ രാപാര്ത്തു; അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തെ കല്ലുകളില് ഒന്നു എടുത്തു തലയണയായി വെച്ചു അവിടെ കിടന്നുറങ്ങി.

11. And he came vnto a certayne place, & taryed there all night, because the sunne was downe: and toke of the stones of the place, and put vnder his head, and layde hym downe in the same place to sleepe.

12. അവന് ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടുഇതാ, ഭൂമിയില് വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു കോവണി; അതിന്റെ തല സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തോളം എത്തിയിരുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദൂതന്മാര് അതിന്മേല്കൂടി കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയുമായിരുന്നു.

12. And he dreamed, and beholde there stoode a lather vpo the earth, and the toppe of it reached vp to heauen: and see, the angels of God went vp & downe vpon it.

13. അതിന്മീതെ യഹോവ നിന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന് നിന്റെ പിതാവായ അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ ദൈവവും, യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ദൈവവുമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു; നീ കിടക്കുന്ന ഭൂമിയെ ഞാന് നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും തരും.

13. Yea, and God from aboue leaned vpon it, and sayde: I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isahac, the land which thou sleepest vpon, wyll I geue thee and thy seede.

14. നിന്റെ സന്തതി ഭൂമിയിലെ പൊടിപോലെ ആകും; നീ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും പരക്കും; നീ മുഖാന്തരവും നിന്റെ സന്തതി മുഖാന്തരവും ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലവംശങ്ങളും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

14. And thy seede shalbe as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spreade abrode to the west, to the east, to the north, and to the south: and in thee, and in thy seede, shall all the kynredes of the earth be blessed.

15. ഇതാ, ഞാന് നിന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടു; നീ പോകുന്നേടത്തൊക്കെയും നിന്നെ കാത്തു ഈ രാജ്യത്തേക്കു നിന്നെ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; ഞാന് നിന്നെ കൈവിടാതെ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവര്ത്തിക്കും.
എബ്രായർ 13:5

15. And see, I am with thee, and wyll be thy keper in all [places] whyther thou goest, and wyll bryng thee agayne into this lande: For I wyl not leaue thee, vntyll I haue made good that whiche I haue promised thee.

16. അപ്പോള് യാക്കോബ് ഉറക്കമുണര്ന്നുയഹോവ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തുണ്ടു സത്യം; ഞാനോ അതു അറിഞ്ഞില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. When Iacob was awaked out of his sleepe, he sayde: Surely the Lorde is in this place, and I knewe it not.

17. അവന് ഭയപ്പെട്ടുഈ സ്ഥലം എത്ര ഭയങ്കരം! ഇതു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയമല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നല്ല; ഇതു സ്വര്ഗ്ഗത്തിന്റെ വാതില് തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. And he was a frayde, and saide: howe dreadefull is this place? it is none other but euen the house of God, & it is the gate of heauen.

18. യാക്കോബ് അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു തലയണയായി വെച്ചിരുന്ന കല്ലു എടുത്തു തൂണായി നിര്ത്തി, അതിന്മേല് എണ്ണ ഒഴിച്ചു.

18. And Iacob rose vp early in the mornyng, and toke the stone that he hadde layed vnder his head, and pitched it vpon an ende, and powred oyle in the toppe of it.

19. അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ബേഥേല് എന്നു പേര്വിളിച്ചു; ആദ്യം ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു ലൂസ് എന്നു പേരായിരുന്നു.

19. And he called the name of the place Bethel: but the name of the citie was called Luz, before tyme.

20. യാക്കോബ് ഒരു നേര്ച്ചനേര്ന്നുദൈവം എന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കയും ഞാന് പോകുന്ന ഈ യാത്രയില് എന്നെ കാക്കുകയും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാന് ആഹാരവും ധരിപ്പാന് വസ്ത്രവും എനിക്കു തരികയും

20. And Iacob vowed a vowe, saying: Yf God wyll be with me, and wyll kepe me in this iourney in which I go, and wyll geue me bread to eate, and clothes to put on:

21. എന്നെ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്കു സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ മടക്കി വരുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കില് യഹോവ എനിക്കു ദൈവമായിരിക്കും.

21. So that I come agayne vnto my fathers house in saftie: then shal the Lord be my God.

22. ഞാന് തൂണായി നിര്ത്തിയ ഈ കല്ലു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയവും ആകും. നീ എനിക്കു തരുന്ന സകലത്തിലും ഞാന് നിനക്കു ദശാംശം തരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And this stone whiche I haue set vp on an ende, shalbe Gods house: and of all that thou shalt geue me, I wyl surely geue the tenth vnto thee.
