1. അനന്തരം ദൈവം യാക്കോബിനോടുനീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബേഥേലില് ചെന്നു പാര്ക്ക; നിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ഏശാവിന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു നീ ഔടിപ്പോകുമ്പോള് നിനക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ ദൈവത്തിന്നു അവിടെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

1. Then said God unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, and make there an altar, to the GOD who appeared unto thee, when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

2. അപ്പോള് യാക്കോബ് തന്റെ കുടുംബത്തോടും കൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാവരോടുംനിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള അന്യദേവന്മാരെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു നിങ്ങളെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു വസ്ത്രം മാറുവിന് .

2. And Jacob said unto his house, and unto all who were with him, Put away the gods of the alien which are in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your garments;

3. നാം പുറപ്പെട്ടു ബേഥേലിലേക്കു പോക; എന്റെ കഷ്ടകാലത്തു എന്റെ പ്രാര്ത്ഥന കേള്ക്കയും ഞാന് പോയ വഴിയില് എന്നോടു കൂടെയിരിക്കയും ചെയ്ത ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഞാന് അവിടെ ഒരു യാഗപീഠം ഉണ്ടാക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, that I may make there an altar to the GOD who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.

4. അങ്ങനെ അവര് തങ്ങളുടെ പക്കലുള്ള അന്യദേവന്മാരെ ഒക്കെയും കാതുകളിലെ കുണുക്കുകളെയും യാക്കോബിന്റെ പക്കല് കൊടുത്തു; യാക്കോബ് അവയെ ശെഖേമിന്നരികെയുള്ള കരുവേലകത്തിന് കീഴില് കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു.

4. So they gave unto Jacob all the gods of the alien which were in their hand, and the earrings which were in their ears, and Jacob hid them under the oak, which was by Shechem.

5. പിന്നെ അവര് യാത്രപുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവരുടെ ചുറ്റുമിരുന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങളുടെ മേല് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ഭീതി വീണതു കൊണ്ടു യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെ ആരും പിന്തുടര്ന്നില്ല.

5. And they brake up, and it came to pass that the terror of God, was on the cities which were round about them, so that they pursued not after the sons of Jacob.

6. യാക്കോബും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും കനാന് ദേശത്തിലെ ലൂസ് എന്ന ബേഥേലില് എത്തി.

6. And Jacob came in towards Luz, which was in the land of Canaan, the same, is Beth-el, he and all the people who were with him.

7. അവിടെ അവന് ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു; തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ മുമ്പില്നിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോകുമ്പോള് അവന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു ദൈവം പ്രത്യക്ഷനായതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഏല്-ബേഥേല് എന്നു പേര് വിളിച്ചു.

7. And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-el, because, there, God revealed himself unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother,

8. റിബെക്കയുടെ ധാത്രിയായ ദെബോരാ മരിച്ചു, അവളെ ബേഥേലിന്നു താഴെ ഒരു കരുവേലകത്തിന് കീഴില് അടക്കി; അതിന്നു അല്ലോന് -ബാഖൂത്ത് (വിലാപവൃക്ഷം)എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

8. And Deborah, Rebekah's nurse died, and was buried below Beth-el, under the oak, so the name thereof was called, Allon-bacuth.

9. യാക്കോബ് പദ്ദന് -അരാമില്നിന്നു വന്ന ശേഷം ദൈവം അവന്നു പിന്നെയും പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി അവനെ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു.

9. And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came in from Padan-aram, and blessed him.

10. ദൈവം അവനോടുനിന്റെ പേര് യാക്കോബ് എന്നല്ലോ; ഇനി നിനക്കു യാക്കോബ് എന്നല്ല യിസ്രായേല് എന്നു തന്നെ പേരാകേണം എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു അവന്നു യിസ്രായേല് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

10. And God said to him, Thy name, is Jacob, Thy name shall no longer he called Jacob But, Israel, shall be thy name. So he called his name, Israel.

11. ദൈവം പിന്നെയും അവനോടുഞാന് സര്വ്വശക്തിയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു; നീ സന്താനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ളവനായി പെരുകുക; ഒരു ജാതിയും ജാതികളുടെ കൂട്ടവും നിന്നില് നിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിക്കും; രാജാക്കന്മാരും നിന്റെ കടിപ്രദേശത്തു നിന്നു പുറപ്പെടും.

11. And God said to him I, am GOD Almighty! Be fruitful and multiply, A nation, and a multitude of nations shall spring from thee, And, kings, from thy loins, shall come forth;

12. ഞാന് അബ്രാഹാമിന്നും യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്നും കൊടുത്തദേശം നിനക്കു തരും; നിന്റെ ശേഷം നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ഈ ദേശം കൊടുക്കും എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.
എബ്രായർ 11:9

12. And, the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, To thee, will I give it, And to thy seed after thee, will I give the land.

13. അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നു ദൈവം അവനെ വിട്ടു കയറിപ്പോയി.

13. And God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.

14. അവന് തന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചേടത്തു യാക്കോബ് ഒരു കല്ത്തൂണ് നിര്ത്തി; അതിന്മേല് ഒരു പാനീയയാഗം ഒഴിച്ചു എണ്ണയും പകര്ന്നു.

14. And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, and he poured out thereon a drink-offering, and poured thereon oil.

15. ദൈവം തന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ച സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു യാക്കോബ് ബേഥേല് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

15. And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him, Beth-el.

16. അവര് ബേഥേലില്നിന്നു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു, എഫ്രാത്തയില് എത്തുവാന് അല്പദൂരം മാത്രമുള്ളപ്പോള് റാഹേല് പ്രസവിച്ചു; പ്രസവിക്കുമ്പോള് അവള്ക്കു കഠിന വേദനയുണ്ടായി.

16. Then brake they up from Beth-el, and it came to pass when there was yet a stretch of country, to enter into Ephrath, that Rachel was in childbirth, and had hard-labour in her child-birth.

17. അങ്ങനെ പ്രസവത്തില് അവള്ക്കു കഠിനവേദനയായിരിക്കുമ്പോള് സൂതികര്മ്മിണി അവളോടുഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഇതും ഒരു മകനായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

17. So it came to pass when she was in hard-labour in her child-birth, that the midwife said to her Do not fear, for this also of thine, is, a son.

18. എന്നാല് അവള് മരിച്ചുപോയി; ജീവന് പോകുന്ന സമയം അവള് അവന്നു ബെനോനീ എന്നു പേര് ഇട്ടു; അവന്റെ അപ്പനോ അവന്നു ബെന്യാമീന് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

18. And it came to pass when her soul was going forth for she died, that she called his name Ben-oni, but, his father, called him, Ben-jamin.

19. റാഹേല് മരിച്ചിട്ടു അവളെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെം എന്ന എഫ്രാത്തിന്നു പോകുന്ന വഴിയില് അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

19. So Rachel died, and was buried on the way to Ephrath, the same, is Bethlehem.

20. അവളുടെ കല്ലറയിന്മേല് യാക്കോബ് ഒരു തൂണ് നിര്ത്തി അതു റാഹേലിന്റെ കല്ലറത്തൂണ് എന്ന പോരോടെ ഇന്നുവരെയും നിലക്കുന്നു.

20. And Jacob set up a pillar, over her grave, the same, is The Pillar of the Grave of Rachel until this day.

21. പിന്നെ യിസ്രായേല് യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു, ഏദെര്ഗോപുരത്തിന്നു അപ്പുറം കൂടാരം അടിച്ചു.

21. Then Israel brake up, and spread his tent at a distance from Migdal Eder.

22. യിസ്രായേല് ആ ദേശത്തു പാര്ത്തിരിക്കുമ്പോള് രൂബേന് ചെന്നു തന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ വെപ്പാട്ടിയായ ബില്ഹയോടുകൂടെ ശയിച്ചു; യിസ്രായേല് അതുകേട്ടു.

22. And it came to pass while Israel inhabited that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine; and Israel heard of it. And so the Sons of Israel came to be Twelve.

23. യാക്കോബിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് പന്ത്രണ്ടു പേരായിരുന്നു. ലേയയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്യാക്കോബിന്റെ ആദ്യജാതന് രൂബേന് , ശിമെയോന് , ലേവി, യെഹൂദാ, യിസ്സാഖാര്, സെബൂലൂന് .

23. The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, And Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Zebulon:

24. റാഹേലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര്യോസേഫും ബെന്യാമീനും.

24. The sons of Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin:

25. റാഹേലിന്റെ ദാസിയായ ബില്ഹയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര്ദാനും നഫ്താലിയും.

25. And the sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel, Dan, and Naphtali:

26. ലേയയുടെ ദാസിയായ സില്പയുടെ പുത്രന്മാര് ഗാദും ആശേരും. ഇവര് യാക്കോബിന്നു പദ്ദന് -അരാമില്വെച്ചു ജനിച്ച പുത്രന്മാര്.

26. And the sons of Zilpah, handmaid of Leah, Gad and Asher: These, are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him, in Padan-aram.

27. പിന്നെ യാക്കോബ് കിര്യാത്തര്ബ്ബാ എന്ന മമ്രേയില് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു; അബ്രാഹാമും യിസ്ഹാക്കും പാര്ത്തിരുന്നഹെബ്രോന് ഇതു തന്നേ.
എബ്രായർ 11:9

27. Then came Jacob unto Isaac his father, to Mature, the city of Arba, the same, is Hebron, where had sojourned Abraham and Isaac.

28. യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ ആയുസ്സു നൂറ്റെണ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു.

28. And the days of Isaac came to be n hundred and eighty years.

29. യിസ്ഹാക് വയോധികനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനുമായി പ്രാണനെ വിട്ടു മരിച്ചു തന്റെ ജനത്തോടു ചേര്ന്നു; അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ഏശാവും യാക്കോബും കൂടി അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

29. And Isaac breathed his last, and died and was added unto his people, old, and satisfied with days, and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
