1. ദൈവം നോഹയെയും അവനോടുകൂടെ പെട്ടകത്തില് ഉള്ള സകല ജീവികളെയും സകലമൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഔര്ത്തു; ദൈവം ഭൂമിമേല് ഒരു കാറ്റു അടിപ്പിച്ചു; വെള്ളം നിലെച്ചു.

1. And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle which were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

2. ആഴിയുടെ ഉറവുകളും ആകാശത്തിന്റെ കിളിവാതിലുകളും അടഞ്ഞു; ആകാശത്തുനിന്നുള്ള മഴയും നിന്നു.

2. Also the fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and rain from heaven was restrained.

3. വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ ഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു; നൂറ്റമ്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു തുടങ്ങി.

3. And the waters returned from off the earth continually. And after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters had gone down.

4. ഏഴാം മാസം പതിനേഴാം തിയ്യതി പെട്ടകം അരരാത്ത് പര്വ്വതത്തില് ഉറെച്ചു.

4. And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Ararat.

5. പത്താം മാസം വരെ വെള്ളം ഇടവിടാതെ കുറഞ്ഞു; പത്താം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി പര്വ്വതശിഖരങ്ങള് കാണായി.

5. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. And the tops of the mountains were seen in the tenth month on the first day of the month.

6. നാല്പതു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷം നോഹ താന് പെട്ടകത്തിന്നു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന കിളിവാതില് തുറന്നു.

6. And it happened, at the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

7. അവന് ഒരു മലങ്കാക്കയെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോയതു വരെ പോയും വന്നും കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

7. And he sent forth a raven, and it went out, going out and returning until the waters were dried up from off the earth.

8. ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞുവോ എന്നു അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ഒരു പ്രാവിനെയും തന്റെ അടുക്കല്നിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

8. He also sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters had gone down from off the face of the earth.

9. എന്നാല് സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിലും വെള്ളം കിടക്കകൊണ്ടു പ്രാവു കാല് വെപ്പാന് സ്ഥലം കാണാതെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് പെട്ടകത്തിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; അവന് കൈനീട്ടി അതിനെ പിടിച്ചു തന്റെ അടുക്കല് പെട്ടകത്തില് ആക്കി.

9. But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot. And she returned to him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. Then he put out his hand and took her, and pulled her in to him into the ark.

10. ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് വീണ്ടും ആ പ്രാവിനെ പെട്ടകത്തില് നിന്നു പുറത്തു വിട്ടു.

10. And he waited yet another seven days. And again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.

11. പ്രാവു വൈകുന്നേരത്തു അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു; അതിന്റെ വായില് അതാ, ഒരു പച്ച ഒലിവില; അതിനാല് ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം കുറഞ്ഞു എന്നു നോഹ അറിഞ്ഞു.

11. And the dove came in to him in the evening. And, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off. So Noah knew that the waters had gone down from off the earth.

12. പിന്നെയും ഏഴു ദിവസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവന് ആ പ്രാവിനെ പുറത്തു വിട്ടു; അതു പിന്നെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് മടങ്ങി വന്നില്ല.

12. And he waited yet another seven days, and sent forth the dove. And she did not return again to him any more.

13. ആറുനൂറ്റൊന്നാം സംവത്സരം ഒന്നാം മാസം ഒന്നാം തിയ്യതി ഭൂമിയില് വെള്ളം വറ്റിപ്പോയിരുന്നു; നോഹ പെട്ടകത്തിന്റെ മേല്ത്തട്ടു നീക്കി, ഭൂതലം ഉണങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കണ്ടു.

13. And it happened in the six hundred and first year, at the beginning, on the first of the month, that the waters were dried up from off the earth. And Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked. And, behold, the face of the earth was dried!

14. രണ്ടാം മാസം ഇരുപത്തേഴാം തിയ്യതി ഭൂമി ഉണങ്ങിയിരുന്നു.

14. And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.

15. ദൈവം നോഹയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു

15. And God spoke to Noah, saying,

16. നീയും നിന്റെ ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും പെട്ടകത്തില്നിന്നു പുറത്തിറങ്ങുവിന് .

16. Go out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives with you.

17. പറവകളും മൃഗങ്ങളും നിലത്തു ഇഴയുന്ന ഇഴജാതിയുമായ സര്വ്വജഡത്തില്നിന്നും നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സകല ജീവികളെയും പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരിക; അവ ഭൂമിയില് അനവധിയായി വര്ദ്ധിക്കയും പെറ്റു പെരുകുകയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

17. Bring out with you every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, of fowl, of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth, so that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful and multiply upon the earth.

18. അങ്ങനെ നോഹയും അവന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും ഭാര്യയും പുത്രന്മാരുടെ ഭാര്യമാരും പുറത്തിറങ്ങി.

18. And Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him.

19. സകല മൃഗങ്ങളും ഇഴജാതികള് ഒക്കെയും എല്ലാ പറവകളും ഭൂചരങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ജാതിജാതിയായി പെട്ടകത്തില് നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി.

19. Every animal, every fowl, and every creeping thing, all which creeps upon the earth after their families, went forth out of the ark.

20. നോഹ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിതു, ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള സകല മൃഗങ്ങളിലും ശുദ്ധിയുള്ള എല്ലാപറവകളിലും ചിലതു എടുത്തു യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേല് ഹോമയാഗം അര്പ്പിച്ചു.

20. And Noah built an altar to Jehovah. And he took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21. യഹോവ സൌരഭ്യവാസന മണത്തപ്പോള് യഹോവ തന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുഞാന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഇനി ഭൂമിയെ ശപിക്കയില്ല. മനുഷ്യന്റെ മനോനിരൂപണം ബാല്യംമുതല് ദോഷമുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് ചെയ്തതു പോലെ സകല ജീവികളെയും ഇനി നശിപ്പിക്കയില്ല.

21. And Jehovah smelled a sweet odor. And Jehovah said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth. And I will not again smite every living thing as I have done.

22. ഭൂമിയുള്ള കാലത്തോളം വിതയും കൊയിത്തും, ശീതവും ഉഷ്ണവും, വേനലും വര്ഷവും, രാവും പകലും നിന്നുപോകയുമില്ല.

22. While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
