1. ശെബാരാജ്ഞി യഹോവയുടെ നാമം സംബന്ധിച്ചു ശലോമോന്നുള്ള കീര്ത്തികേട്ടിട്ടു കടമൊഴികളാല് അവനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വന്നു.

1. The Queen of Sheba heard how famous Solomon was, so she went to Jerusalem to test him with difficult questions.

2. അവള് അതിമഹത്തായ പരിവാരത്തോടും സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും അനവധി പൊന്നും രത്നവും ചുമന്ന ഒട്ടകളങ്ങളോടുംകൂടെ യെരൂശലേമില്വന്നു; അവള് ശലോമോന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നശേഷം തന്റെ മനോരഥമൊക്കെയും അവനോടു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

2. She took along several of her officials, and she loaded her camels with gifts of spices, jewels, and gold. When she arrived, she and Solomon talked about everything she could think of.

3. He answered every question, no matter how difficult it was.

4. The Queen was amazed at Solomon's wisdom. She was breathless when she saw his palace, the food on his table, his officials, his servants in their uniforms, the people who served his food, and the sacrifices he offered at the LORD's temple.

6. അവള് രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാല്നിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാന് എന്റെ ദേശത്തുവെച്ചു കേട്ട വര്ത്തമാനം സത്യം തന്നേ.

6. She said: Solomon, in my own country I had heard about your wisdom and all you've done.

7. ഞാന് വന്നു എന്റെ കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുന്നതുവരെ ആ വര്ത്തമാനം വിശ്വസിച്ചില്ല. എന്നാല് പാതിപോലും ഞാന് അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നില്ല. ഞാന് കേട്ട കീര്ത്തിയെക്കാള് നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനവും ധനവും അധികമാകുന്നു.

7. But I didn't believe it until I saw it with my own eyes! And there's so much I didn't hear about. You are wiser and richer than I was told.

8. നിന്റെ ഭാര്യമാര് ഭാഗ്യവതികള്; നിന്റെ മുമ്പില് എപ്പോഴും നിന്നു നിന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്ക്കുന്ന ഈ നിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരും ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാര്.

8. Your wives and officials are lucky to be here where they can listen to the wise things you say.

9. നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാസനത്തില് ഇരുത്തുവാന് നിന്നില് പ്രസാദിച്ച നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവന് ; യഹോവ യിസ്രായേലിനെ എന്നേക്കും സ്നേഹിക്കകൊണ്ടു നീതിയും ന്യായവും നടത്തേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നെ രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

9. I praise the LORD your God. He is pleased with you and has made you king of Israel. The LORD loves Israel, so he has given them a king who will rule fairly and honestly.

10. അവള് രാജാവിന്നു നൂറ്റിരുപതു താലന്ത് പൊന്നും അനവധി സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗവും രത്നവും കൊടുത്തു; ശെബാരാജ്ഞി ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്നു കൊടുത്ത സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗംപോലെ അത്ര വളരെ പിന്നെ ഒരിക്കലും വന്നിട്ടില്ല.

10. The Queen of Sheba gave Solomon almost five tons of gold, many jewels, and more spices than anyone had ever brought into Israel.

11. ഔഫീരില്നിന്നു പൊന്നു കൊണ്ടുവന്ന ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകള് ഔഫീരില്നിന്നു അനവധി ചന്ദനവും രത്നവും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

11. In return, Solomon gave her the gifts he would have given any other ruler, but he also gave her everything else she wanted. Then she and her officials went back to their own country. King Hiram's ships brought gold, juniper wood, and jewels from the country of Ophir. Solomon used the wood to make steps for the temple and palace, and harps and other stringed instruments for the musicians. It was the best juniper wood anyone in Israel had ever seen.

12. രാജാവു ചന്ദനംകൊണ്ടു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്നും രാജധാനിക്കും അഴികളും സംഗീതക്കാര്ക്കും കിന്നരങ്ങളും വീണകളും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അങ്ങനെയുള്ള ചന്ദനമരം ഇന്നുവരെ വന്നിട്ടില്ല, കണ്ടിട്ടുമില്ല.

13. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു സ്വമേധയാ ശെബാരാജ്ഞിക്കു രാജൌചിത്യംപോലെ കൊടുത്തതുകൂടാതെ അവള് ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു ചോദിച്ചതുമെല്ലാം ശലോമോന് രാജാവു അവള്ക്കു കൊടുത്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവള് തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുമായി സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

14. Solomon received about twenty-five tons of gold a year.

15. ആണ്ടുതോറും വന്ന പൊന്നിന്റെ തൂക്കം അറുനൂറ്ററുപത്താറു താലന്തായിരുന്നു.

15. The merchants and traders, as well as the kings of Arabia and rulers from Israel, also gave him gold.

16. ശലോമോന് രാജാവു, അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു ഇരുനൂറു വന് പരിച ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഔരോ പരിചെക്കു അറുനൂറുശേക്കല് പൊന്നു ചെലവായി.

16. Solomon made two hundred gold shields and used about seven and a half pounds of gold for each one.

17. അടിച്ചുപരത്തിയ പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടു അവന് മുന്നൂറു ചെറുപരിചയും ഉണ്ടാക്കി; ഔരോ ചെറു പരിചെക്കു മൂന്നു മാനേ പൊന്നു ചെലവായി; അവയെ രാജാവു ലെബാനോന് വനഗൃഹത്തില് വെച്ചു.

17. He also made three hundred smaller gold shields, using almost four pounds for each one, and he put the shields in his palace in Forest Hall.

18. രാജാവു ദന്തംകൊണ്ടു ഒരു വലിയ സിംഹാസനം ഉണ്ടാക്കി തങ്കംകൊണ്ടു പൊതിഞ്ഞു.

18. His throne was made of ivory and covered with pure gold.

19. സിംഹാസനത്തിന്നു ആറു പതനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സിംഹാസനത്തിന്റെ തലപുറകോട്ടു വളഞ്ഞിരുന്നു; ഇരിപ്പിടത്തിന്റെ ഇരുഭാഗത്തും കൈത്താങ്ങലും കൈത്താങ്ങലിന്നരികെ നിലക്കുന്ന രണ്ടു സിംഹവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

19. The back of the throne was rounded at the top, and it had armrests on each side. There was a statue of a lion on both sides of the throne, and there was a statue of a lion at both ends of each of the six steps leading up to the throne. No other throne in the world was like Solomon's.

20. ആറു പതനത്തില് ഇപ്പുറത്തും അപ്പുറത്തുമായി പന്ത്രണ്ടു സിംഹം നിന്നിരുന്നു. ഒരു രാജ്യത്തും ഇങ്ങനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്നില്ല.

21. ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ സകലപാനപാത്രങ്ങളും പൊന്നുകൊണ്ടും ലെബാനോന് വനഗൃഹത്തിലെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളൊക്കെയും തങ്കംകൊണ്ടും ആയിരുന്നു; ഒന്നും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടല്ല; അതിന്നു ശലോമോന്റെ കാലത്തു വിലയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

21. Since silver was almost worthless in those days, everything was made of gold, even the cups and dishes used in Forest Hall.

22. രാജാവിന്നു സമുദ്രത്തില് ഹീരാമിന്റെ കപ്പലുകളോടുകൂടെ തര്ശീശ് കപ്പലുകള് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; തര്ശീശ് കപ്പലുകള് മൂന്നു സംവത്സരത്തില് ഒരിക്കല് പൊന്നു, വെള്ളി, ആനക്കൊമ്പു, കുരങ്ങു, മയില് എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

22. Solomon had a lot of seagoing ships. Every three years he sent them out with Hiram's ships to bring back gold, silver, and ivory, as well as monkeys and peacocks.

23. ഇങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് രാജാവു ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരിലുംവെച്ചു ധനംകൊണ്ടും ജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടും മികെച്ചവനായിരുന്നു.

23. He was the richest and wisest king in the world.

24. ദൈവം ശലോമോന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തില് കൊടുത്ത ജ്ഞാനം കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സകലദേശക്കാരും അവന്റെ മുഖദര്ശനം അന്വേഷിച്ചുവന്നു.

24. People from every nation wanted to hear the wisdom God had given him.

25. അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തനും ആണ്ടുതോറും താന്താന്റെ കാഴ്ചയായി വെള്ളിപ്പാത്രം, പൊന് പാത്രം, വസ്ത്രം, ആയുധം, സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം, കുതിര, കോവര്കഴുത എന്നിവ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.

25. Year after year people came and brought gifts of silver and gold, as well as clothes, weapons, spices, horses, or mules.

26. ശലോമോന് രഥങ്ങളെയും കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ശേഖരിച്ചുഅവന്നു ആയിരത്തിനാനൂറു രഥങ്ങളും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരെ അവന് രാജാവിന്റെ രഥനഗരങ്ങളിലും യെരൂശലേമില് രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലും പാര്പ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു.

26. Solomon had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses that he kept in Jerusalem and other towns.

27. രാജാവു യെരൂശലേമില് വെള്ളിയെ പെരുപ്പംകൊണ്ടു കല്ലുപോലെയും ദേവദാരുവിനെ താഴ്വീതിയിലെ കാട്ടത്തിമരംപോലെയുമാക്കി.

27. While he was king, there was silver everywhere in Jerusalem, and cedar was as common as ordinary sycamore trees in the foothills.

28. ശലോമോന്നു കുതിരകളെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നതു മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നായിരുന്നു; രാജാവിന്റെ കച്ചവടക്കാര് അവയെ കൂട്ടമായിട്ടു വിലെക്കു വാങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ടുവരും.

28. Solomon's merchants bought his horses and chariots in the regions of Musri and Kue. They paid about fifteen pounds of silver for a chariot and almost four pounds of silver for a horse. They also sold horses and chariots to the Hittite and Syrian kings.

29. അവര് മിസ്രയീമില്നിന്നു രഥം ഒന്നിന്നു അറുനൂറും കുതിര ഒന്നിന്നു നൂറ്റമ്പതും വെള്ളിശേക്കല് വില കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങികൊണ്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ അവര് ഹിത്യരുടെ സകലരാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും അരാംരാജാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു കൊടുക്കും.
