1. അങ്ങനെ ശലോമോന് രാജാവു എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേലിന്നും രാജാവായി.

1. So King Solomon ruled over all Israel.

2. അവന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ആരെന്നാല്സാദോക്കിന്റെ മകന് അസര്യാവു പുരോഹിതന് .

2. And these were his chief officials: Azariah son of Zadok-- the priest;

3. ശീശയുടെ പുത്രന്മാരായ എലീഹോരെഫും അഹീയാവും രായസക്കാര്; അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകന് യെഹോശാഫാത്ത് മന്ത്രി;

3. Elihoreph and Ahijah, sons of Shisha-- secretaries; Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud-- recorder;

4. യെഹോയാദയുടെ മകന് ബെനായാവു സേനാധിപതി, സാദോക്കും അബ്യാഥാരും പുരോഹിതന്മാര്;

4. Benaiah son of Jehoiada-- commander in chief; Zadok and Abiathar-- priests;

5. നാഥാന്റെ മകനായ അസര്യാവു കാര്യക്കാരന്മാരുടെ മേധാവി; നാഥാന്റെ മകനായ സാബൂദ് പുരോഹിതനും രാജാവിന്റെ സ്നേഹിതനുമായിരുന്നു;

5. Azariah son of Nathan-- in charge of the district officers; Zabud son of Nathan-- a priest and personal adviser to the king;

6. അഹീശാര് രാജഗൃഹവിചാരകന് ; അബ്ദയുടെ കെന് അദോനീരാം ഊഴിയവേലക്കാരുടെ മേധാവി.

6. Ahishar-- in charge of the palace; Adoniram son of Abda-- in charge of forced labor.

7. രാജാവിന്നും രാജഗൃഹത്തിന്നും ഭോജന പദാര്ത്ഥങ്ങള് എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാന് ശലോമോന്നു യിസ്രായേലിലൊക്കെയും പന്ത്രണ്ടു കാര്യക്കാരന്മാര് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവരില് ഔരോരുത്തന് ആണ്ടില് ഔരോമാസത്തേക്കു ഭോജനപദാര്ത്ഥങ്ങള് എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

7. Solomon also had twelve district governors over all Israel, who supplied provisions for the king and the royal household. Each one had to provide supplies for one month in the year.

8. അവരുടെ പേരാവിതുഎഫ്രയീംമലനാട്ടില് ബെന് -ഹൂര്;

8. These are their names: Ben-Hur-- in the hill country of Ephraim;

9. മാക്കസ്, ശാല്ബീം, ബേത്ത്-ശേമെശ്, ഏലോന് -ബേത്ത്-ഹാനാന് എന്നീ സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് ബെന് -ദേക്കെര്;

9. Ben-Deker-- in Makaz, Shaalbim, Beth Shemesh and Elon Bethhanan;

10. അരുബ്ബോത്തില് ബെന് -ഹേസെര്; സോഖോവും ഹേഫെര്ദേശം മുഴുവനും അവന്റെ ഇടവക ആയിരുന്നു;

10. Ben-Hesed-- in Arubboth (Socoh and all the land of Hepher were his);

11. നാഫത്ത്-ദോറില് ബെന് -അബീനാദാബ്; അവന്നു ശലോമോന്റെ മകളായ താഫത്ത് ഭാര്യയായിരുന്നു;

11. Ben-Abinadab-- in Naphoth Dor (he was married to Taphath daughter of Solomon);

12. അഹീലൂദിന്റെ മകനായ ബാനയുടെ ഇടവക താനാക്കും മെഗിദ്ദോവും സാരെഥാന്നരികെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു താഴെ ബേത്ത്-ശെയാന് മുതല് ആബേല്-മെഹോലാവരെയും യൊക് മെയാമിന്റെ അപ്പുറംവരെയുമുള്ള ബേത്ത്-ശെയാന് മുഴുവനും ആയിരുന്നു;

12. Baana son of Ahilud-- in Taanach and Megiddo, and in all of Beth Shan next to Zarethan below Jezreel, from Beth Shan to Abel Meholah across to Jokmeam;

13. ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തില് ബെന് -ഗേബെര്; അവന്റെ ഇടവക മനശ്ശെയുടെ മകനായ യായീരിന്നു ഗിലെയാദിലുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളും മതിലുകളും ചെമ്പോടാമ്പലുകളും ഉള്ള അറുപതു വലിയ പട്ടണങ്ങള് ഉള്പ്പെട്ട ബാശാനിലെ അര്ഗ്ഗോബ് ദേശവും ആയിരുന്നു,

13. Ben-Geber-- in Ramoth Gilead (the settlements of Jair son of Manasseh in Gilead were his, as well as the district of Argob in Bashan and its sixty large walled cities with bronze gate bars);

14. മഹനയീമില് ഇദ്ദോവിന്റെ മകന് അഹീനാദാബ്;

14. Ahinadab son of Iddo-- in Mahanaim;

15. നഫ്താലിയില് അഹീമാസ്; അവന് ശലോമോന്റെ മകളായ ബാശെമത്തിനെ ഭാര്യയായി പരിഗ്രഹിച്ചു;

15. Ahimaaz-- in Naphtali (he had married Basemath daughter of Solomon);

16. ആശേരിലും ബെയാലോത്തിലും ഹൂശയിയുടെ മകന് ബാനാ;

16. Baana son of Hushai-- in Asher and in Aloth;

17. യിസ്സാഖാരില് പാരൂഹിന്റെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്ത്;

17. Jehoshaphat son of Paruah-- in Issachar;

18. ബെന്യാമീനില് ഏലയുടെ മകനായ ശിമെയി; അമോര്യ രാജാവായ സീഹോന്റെയും

18. Shimei son of Ela-- in Benjamin;

19. ബാശാന് രാജാവായ ഔഗിന്റെയും രാജ്യമായിരുന്ന ഗിലെയദ് ദേശത്തു ഹൂരിന്റെ മകന് ഗേബെര്; ആ ദേശത്തു ഒരു കാര്യക്കാരന് മാത്രമേ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളു.

19. Geber son of Uri-- in Gilead (the country of Sihon king of the Amorites and the country of Og king of Bashan). He was the only governor over the district.

20. യെഹൂദയും യിസ്രായേലും കടല്ക്കരയിലെ മണല്പോലെ അസംഖ്യമായിരുന്നു; അവര് തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കയും സന്തോഷിക്കയും ചെയ്തു പോന്നു.

20. The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore; they ate, they drank and they were happy.

21. നദിമുതല് ഫെലിസ്ത്യദേശംവരെയും മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ അതിര്വരെയും ഉള്ള സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ശലോമോന് വാണു; അവര് കപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ശലോമോനെ അവന്റെ ജീവപര്യന്തം സേവിച്ചു.

21. And Solomon ruled over all the kingdoms from the River to the land of the Philistines, as far as the border of Egypt. These countries brought tribute and were Solomon's subjects all his life.

22. ശലോമോന്റെ നിത്യച്ചെലവു ദിവസം ഒന്നിന്നു മുപ്പതു പറ നേരിയ മാവും അറുപതു പറ സാധാരണമാവും

22. Solomon's daily provisions were thirty cors of fine flour and sixty cors of meal,

23. മാന് , ഇളമാന് , മ്ളാവു, പുഷ്ടിവരുത്തിയ പക്ഷികള് എന്നിവ കൂടാതെ തടിപ്പിച്ച പത്തു കാളയും മേച്ചല്പുറത്തെ ഇരുപതു കാളയും നൂറു ആടും ആയിരുന്നു.

23. ten head of stall-fed cattle, twenty of pasture-fed cattle and a hundred sheep and goats, as well as deer, gazelles, roebucks and choice fowl.

24. നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെ തിഫ്സഹ് മുതല് ഗസ്സാവരെയുള്ള സകലദേശത്തെയും നദിക്കു ഇക്കരെയുള്ള സകലരാജാക്കന്മാരെയും അവന് വാണു. ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ദിക്കില് ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

24. For he ruled over all the kingdoms west of the River, from Tiphsah to Gaza, and had peace on all sides.

25. ശലോമോന്റെ കാലത്തൊക്കെയും യെഹൂദയും യിസ്രായേലും ദാന് മുതല് ബേര്-ശേബവരെയും ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ കീഴിലും അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിന് കീഴിലും നിര്ഭയം വസിച്ചു.

25. During Solomon's lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, each man under his own vine and fig tree.

26. ശലോമോന്നു തന്റെ രഥങ്ങള്ക്കു നാല്പതിനായിരം കുതിരലായവും പന്തീരായിരം കുതിരച്ചേവകരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

26. Solomon had four thousand stalls for chariot horses, and twelve thousand horses.

27. കാര്യക്കാരന്മാര് ഔരോരുത്തന് ഔരോ മാസത്തേക്കു ശലോമോന് രാജാവിന്റെ പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു കൂടുന്ന എല്ലാവര്ക്കും വേണ്ടുന്ന ഭോജനപദാര്ത്ഥങ്ങള് കുറവുകൂടാതെ എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

27. The district officers, each in his month, supplied provisions for King Solomon and all who came to the king's table. They saw to it that nothing was lacking.

28. അവര് കുതിരകള്ക്കും തുരഗങ്ങള്ക്കും വേണ്ടുന്ന യവവും വയ്ക്കോലും താന്താന്റെ മുറപ്രകാരം അവന് ഇരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലങ്ങളില് എത്തിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും.

28. They also brought to the proper place their quotas of barley and straw for the chariot horses and the other horses.

29. ദൈവം ശലോമോന്നു ഏറ്റവും വളരെ ജ്ഞാനവും ബുദ്ധിയും കടല്ക്കരയിലെ മണല്പോലെ ഹൃദയവിശാലതയും കൊടുത്തു.

29. God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.

30. സകലപൂര്വ്വ ദിഗ്വാസികളുടെയും ജ്ഞാനത്തെക്കാളും മിസ്രയീമ്യരുടെ സകലജ്ഞാനത്തെക്കാളും ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായിരുന്നു.

30. Solomon's wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the men of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt.

31. സകലമനുഷ്യരെക്കാളും എസ്രാഹ്യനായ ഏഥാന് , മാഹോലിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരായ ഹേമാന് , കല്ക്കോല്, ദര്ദ്ദ എന്നിവരെക്കാളും അവന് ജ്ഞാനിയായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ കീര്ത്തി ചുറ്റുമുള്ള സകലജാതികളിലും പരന്നു.

31. He was wiser than any other man, including Ethan the Ezrahite-- wiser than Heman, Calcol and Darda, the sons of Mahol. And his fame spread to all the surrounding nations.

32. അവന് മൂവായിരം സദൃശവാക്യം പറഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ ഗീതങ്ങള് ആയിരത്തഞ്ചു ആയിരുന്നു.

32. He spoke three thousand proverbs and his songs numbered a thousand and five.

33. ലെബാനോനിലെ ദേവദാരുമുതല് ചുവരിന്മേല് മുളെക്കുന്ന ഈസോപ്പുവരെയുള്ള വൃക്ഷാദികളെക്കുറിച്ചും മൃഗം, പക്ഷി, ഇഴജാതി, മത്സ്യം എന്നിവയെക്കുറിച്ചും അവന് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

33. He described plant life, from the cedar of Lebanon to the hyssop that grows out of walls. He also taught about animals and birds, reptiles and fish.

34. ശലോമോന്റെ ജ്ഞാനത്തെപ്പറ്റി കേട്ട സകലഭൂപാലകന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കല് നിന്നു നാനാജാതിക്കാരായ പലരും അവന്റെ ജ്ഞാനം കേള്പ്പാന് വന്നു.

34. Men of all nations came to listen to Solomon's wisdom, sent by all the kings of the world, who had heard of his wisdom.
