1. എലീശാപ്രവാചകന് ഒരു പ്രവാചകശിഷ്യനെ വിളിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതുനീ അരകെട്ടി ഈ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോക.

1. And Elisa the prophete called one of the childre of the prophetes, and sayd vnto him: Gyrde vp thy loynes, and take this boxe of oyle in thyne hand, & get thee to Ramoth [in] Gilead.

2. അവിടെ എത്തിയശേഷം നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകന് യേഹൂ എവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നോക്കി അകത്തു ചെന്നു അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവില്നിന്നു അവനെ എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു ഉള്മുറിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോക.

2. And when thou commest thyther, loke wher is Iehu the sonne of Iehosaphat the sonne of Nimsi, and go to him, and make him arise vp from among his brethren, & cary him to a secrete chamber.

3. പിന്നെ തൈലപാത്രം എടുത്തു അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചുഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായി അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു വാതില് തുറന്നു താമസിക്കാതെ ഔടിപ്പോരിക.

3. Then take the boxe of oyle, and powre it on his head, and say, thus saith the Lord, I haue annoynted thee to be king ouer Israel: And then open the doore, and flee, without any tarying.

4. അങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകനായ ആ യൌവനക്കാരന് ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.

4. And so the seruaunt of the prophete gat him to Ramoth Gilead:

5. അവന് അവിടെ എത്തിയപ്പോള് പടനായകന്മാര് മരുമിച്ചു ഇരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടുനായകാ, എനിക്കു നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാനുണ്ടു എന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞതിന്നുഞങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരിലുംവെച്ചു ആരോടു എന്നു യേഹൂ ചോദിച്ചു. നിന്നോടു തന്നേ, നായകാ എന്നു അവന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And when he came in, beholde, the captaynes of the hoast were sitting together: And he sayde, I haue an errand to thee, O captayne.

6. അവന് എഴുന്നേറ്റു മുറിക്കകത്തു കടന്നു; അപ്പോള് അവന് തൈലം അവന്റെ തലയില് ഒഴിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ യഹോവയുടെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

6. And Iehu sayd: Unto whiche of al vs? He sayd: To thee, O captayne. And he arose, and went into the house, and he powred the oyle on his head, and sayde vnto him: Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I haue annoynted thee to be king ouer the people of the Lorde, euen ouer Israel.

7. എന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ രക്തത്തിന്നും യഹോവയുടെ സകലദാസന്മാരുടെയും രക്തത്തിന്നും ഈസേബെലിനോടു ഞാന് പ്രതികാരം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്റെ യജമാനനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെ നീ സംഹരിച്ചുകളയേണം.

7. Thou shalt smyte the house of Ahab thy maister, that I may auenge the blood of my seruauntes the prophetes, & the blood of all the seruauntes of the Lord, of the hande of Iezabel:

8. ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹം അശേഷം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകേണം; യിസ്രായേലില് ആഹാബിന്നുള്ള സ്വതന്ത്രനും അസ്വതന്ത്രനുമായ പുരുഷപ്രജയെ ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

8. For the whole house of Ahab shall be destroyed, and I will destroy from Ahab [euen] hym that maketh water against the wal, and him that is prysoned and forsaken in Israel:

9. ഞാന് ആഹാബ്ഗൃഹത്തെ നെബാത്തിന്റെ മകനായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും അഹീയാവിന്റെ മകനായ ബയെശയുടെ ഗൃഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആക്കും.

9. And I wil make the house of Ahab, like the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nabat, and like the house of Baasa the sonne of Ahia.

10. ഈസേബെലിനെ യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് തിന്നുകളയും; അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ആരും ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല. പിന്നെ അവന് വാതില് തുറന്നു ഔടിപ്പോയി.

10. And as for Iezabel, the dogges shall eate her in the fielde of Iezrahel, and there shalbe none to burie her. And he opened the doore, and fled.

11. യേഹൂതന്റെ യജമാനന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കല് പുറത്തു വന്നപ്പോള് ഒരുത്തന് അവനോടുഎന്താകുന്നു വിശേഷം? ആ ഭ്രാന്തന് നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നതെന്തിന്നു? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു അവന് അവരോടുനിങ്ങള് ആ പുരുഷനെയും അവന് പറഞ്ഞകാര്യത്തെയും അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Iehu came out to the seruauntes of his lord, and one sayd vnto him: Is al well? Wherfore came this madde felowe to thee? And he sayd vnto them: Ye knowe what maner of man it is, and what his communication is.

12. എന്നാറെ അവര്അതു നേരല്ല; നീ ഞങ്ങളോടു പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവന് ഞാന് നിന്നെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നാദിയായി ഇന്നിന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള് അവന് എന്നോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

12. They said vnto him againe: It is not so, tell vs. He said: Thus & thus spake he to me, saying, thus saith the Lord: I haue annoynted thee to be king ouer Israel.

13. ഉടനെ അവര് ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു ഔരോരുത്തന് താന്താന്റെ വസ്ത്രം എടുത്തു കോവണിപ്പടികളിന്മേല് അവന്റെ കാല്ക്കല് വിരിച്ചു. കാഹളം ഊതിയേഹൂ രാജാവായി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. Then they hasted, and toke euery man his garment, and put it vnder him on the toppe of the staires, and blewe with trumpettes, saying: Iehu is king.

14. അങ്ങനെ നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യെഹോശാഫാത്തിന്റെ മകന് യേഹൂ യോരാമിന്നു വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കി. യോരാമും എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേല്നിമിത്തം ഗിലെയാദിലെ രാമോത്തിനെ കാവല് ആക്കി സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു.

14. And so Iehu the sonne of Iehosaphat the sonne of Nimsi, conspired against Ioram: (Ioram kept Ramoth Gilead, he and al Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria:

15. അരാംരാജാവായ ഹസായേലിനോടുള്ള യുദ്ധത്തില് അരാമ്യര് തനിക്കു ഏല്പിച്ച മുറിവുകള്ക്കു യിസ്രെയേലില്വെച്ചു ചികിത്സചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു യോരാംരാജാവു മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നിരുന്നു. എന്നാല് യേഹൂനിങ്ങള്ക്കു സമ്മതമെങ്കില് യിസ്രെയേലില് ചെന്നു ഇതു അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ആരും പട്ടണം വിട്ടുപോകാതെ സൂക്ഷിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

15. And king Ioram returned to be healed in Iezrahel of the woundes which the Syrians had geuen him when he fought with Hazael king of Syria) And Iehu sayde: If it be your mindes, then let no man depart and escape out of the citie, to go and tell in Iezrahel.

16. അങ്ങനെ യേഹൂ രഥം കയറി യിസ്രെയേലിലേക്കു പോയി; യോരാം അവിടെ കിടക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. യോരാമിനെ കാണ്മാന് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും അവിടെ വന്നിരുന്നു.

16. So Iehu gat vp [into a charet] & went to Iezrahel where Ioram lay: and Ahaziahu king of Iuda was come downe thyther to see Ioram.

17. യിസ്രെയേലിലെ ഗോപുരമുകളില് ഒരു കാവല്ക്കാരന് നിന്നിരുന്നു; അവന് യേവഹൂവിന്റെ കൂട്ടം വരുന്നതു കണ്ടിട്ടുഞാന് ഒരു കൂട്ടത്തെ കാണുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് യോരാംനീ ഒരു കുതിരച്ചേവകനെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നേരെ അയക്കേണം; അവന് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

17. And the watchman that stoode on the towre in Iezrahel, spied the companie of Iehu as he came, and sayde: I see a companie. And Ioram sayde: Take an horsman, and send to meete them, that he may aske whether it be peace.

18. അങ്ങനെ ഒരുത്തന് കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു കയറി അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനം കൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു. അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് ദൂതന് അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടും മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല എന്നു അറിയിച്ചു.

18. And so there went one on horsbacke to meete him, and sayde: Thus sayth the king: is it peace? And Iehu sayd: What hast thou to do with peace? turne thee behind me. And the watchman told, saying: The messenger came to them, but he commeth not againe.

19. അവന് മറ്റൊരുത്തനെ കുതിരപ്പുറത്തു അയച്ചു; അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുസമാധാനമോ എന്നു രാജാവു ചോദിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. സമാധാനംകൊണ്ടു നിനക്കു എന്തു കാര്യം? തിരിഞ്ഞു എന്റെ പുറകില് വരിക എന്നു യേഹൂ പറഞ്ഞു.

19. Then he sent out another on horsbacke, whiche came to them, and sayde: Thus sayth the king: is it peace? Iehu aunswered: What hast thou to do with peace? turne thee behynd me.

20. അപ്പോള് കാവല്ക്കാരന് അവനും അവരുടെ അടുക്കലോളം ചെന്നിട്ടു മടങ്ങിവരുന്നില്ല; ആ ഔടിക്കുന്നതു നിംശിയുടെ മകനായ യേഹൂ ഔടിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഭ്രന്തനപ്പോലെയല്ലോ അവന് ഔടിച്ചുവരുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

20. And the watchman tolde, saying: He came to them also, and commeth not againe: And the driuing, is lyke the driuing of Iehu the sonne of Nimsi: for he driueth the charet as he were mad.

21. ഉടനെ യോരാംരഥം പൂട്ടുക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു; രഥം പൂട്ടിയശേഷം യിസ്രായേല് രാജാവായ യോരാമും യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവും താന്താന്റെ രഥത്തില് കയറി യേഹൂവിന്റെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു, യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു.

21. And Ioram sayde: Make redy. And the charet was made redy. And Ioram king of Israel, and Ahaziahu king of Iuda, went out eyther of them in his charet against Iehu, and met him in the fielde of Naboth the Iezrahelite.

22. യേഹൂവിനെ കണ്ടപ്പോള് യോരാംയേഹൂവേ, സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. അതിന്നു യേഹൂനിന്റെ അമ്മയായ ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പരസംഗവും ക്ഷുദ്രവും ഇത്ര അധികമായിരിക്കുന്നേടത്തോളം എന്തു സമാധാനം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

22. And it fortuned, that when Ioram sawe Iehu, he sayd: Is it peace Iehu? He aunswered: What peace should there be, so long as the whordoms of thy mother Iezabel and her wytchcraftes are so great?

23. അപ്പോള് യോരാം രഥം തിരിച്ചു ഔടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അഹസ്യാവോടുഅഹസ്യാവേ, ഇതു ദ്രോഹം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. And Ioram turned his hande, and fled, and sayde to Ahaziahu: There is falshood O Ahaziahu.

24. യേഹൂ വില്ലുകുലെച്ചു യോരാമിനെ ഭുജങ്ങളുടെ നടുവെ എയ്തു; അമ്പു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം തുളഞ്ഞു മറുപുറം കടന്നു; അവന് രഥത്തില് ചുരുണ്ടു വീണു.

24. And Iehu toke a bow in his hande, and smote Ioram betweene the armes, & the arrowe went through his heart, and he fell downe flat in his charet.

25. യേഹൂ തന്റെ പടനായകനായ ബിദ്കാരോടു പറഞ്ഞതുഅവനെ എടുത്തു യിസ്രെയേല്യനായ നാബോത്തിന്റെ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; ഞാനും നീയും ഒരുമിച്ചു അവന്റെ അപ്പനായ ആഹാബിന്റെ പിന്നാലെ കുതിരയേറി പോകുമ്പോള്

25. Then said Iehu to Bidkar a captayne: Take [him] and cast him in the plat of the ground of Naboth the Iezrahelite: For I remember that when I & thou rode together after Ahab his father, the Lorde layed this heauy burthen vpon him:

26. നാബോത്തിന്റെ രക്തവും അവന്റെ മക്കളുടെ രക്തവും ഇന്നലെ ഞാന് കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഈ നിലത്തുവെച്ചു ഞാന് നിനക്കു പകരം വീട്ടുമെന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവയുടെ ഈ അരുപ്പാടു അവന്നു വിരോധമായി ഉണ്ടായെന്നു ഔര്ത്തുകൊള്ക; അവനെ എടുത്തു യഹോവയുടെ വചന പ്രകാരം തന്നേ ഈ നിലത്തില് എറിഞ്ഞുകളക.

26. I haue seene yesterday the blood of Naboth & the blood of his sonnes, sayde the Lord: and I wil quite it thee in this ground sayth the Lord. Nowe therfore take [him] and cast him in the plat of ground, according to ye word of the Lord.

27. യെഹൂദാരാജാവായ അഹസ്യാവു ഇതു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഉദ്യാനഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ വഴിയായി ഔടിപ്പോയി. യേഹൂ അവനെ പിന്തുടര്ന്നുഅവനെയും രഥത്തില് വെട്ടിക്കളവിന് എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. അവര് യിബ്ളെയാമിന്നു സമീപത്തുള്ള ഗൂര്കയറ്റത്തിങ്കല്വെച്ചു അവനെ വെട്ടി; അവന് മെഗിദ്ദോവിലേക്കു ഔടിച്ചെന്നു അവിടെവെച്ചു മരിച്ചുപോയി.

27. But when Ahaziahu the king of Iuda sawe this, he fled by the way of the garden house: And Iehu folowed after him, and sayde, Smyte him also in the charet, at the goyng vp to Gur by Iebleam. And he fled to Megiddo, and ther died.

28. അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാര് അവനെ രഥത്തില്വെച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു കെണ്ടുപോയി ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരത്തില് അവന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവന്റെ കല്ലറയില് അവനെ അടക്കംചെയ്തു.

28. And his seruauntes caryed him in a charet to Hierusalem, and buried him there in his sepulchre with his fathers in the citie of Dauid.

29. ആഹാബിന്റെ മകനായ യോരാമിന്റെ പതിനൊന്നാം ആണ്ടില് ആയിരുന്നു അഹസ്യാവു യെഹൂദയില് രാജാവായതു.

29. And in the eleuenth yere of Ioram the sonne of Ahab, began Ahaziahu to raigne ouer Iuda.

30. യേഹൂ യിസ്രായേലില് വന്നതു ഈസേബെല് കേട്ടിട്ടു തന്റെ കണ്ണില് മഷിയെഴുതി തലചീകി മിനുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു കിളിവാതില്ക്കല്കൂടി നോക്കി.

30. And when Iehu was come to Iezrahel, Iezabel hearde of it, & paynted her face, and tired her head, and loked out at a wyndowe.

31. യേഹൂ പടിവാതില് കടന്നപ്പോള് അവള്യജമാനനെ കൊന്നവനായ സിമ്രിക്കു സമാധാനമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

31. And as Iehu entred at the gate, she sayd: Had Zimri peace, which slue his maister?

32. അവന് തന്റെ മുഖം കിളിവാതില്ക്കലേക്കു ഉയര്ത്തിആരുള്ളു എന്റെ പക്ഷത്തു? ആരുള്ളു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. എന്നാറെ രണ്ടുമൂന്നു ഷണ്ഡന്മാര് പുറത്തേക്കു നോക്കി.

32. And he lift vp his eyes to the windowe, and sayde: Who is of my side, who? And there loked out to him two or three chamberlaynes.

33. അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിടുവിന് എന്നു അവന് കല്പിച്ചു. ഉടനെ അവര് അവളെ താഴെ തള്ളിയിട്ടു; അവളുടെ രക്തം ചുവരിന്മേലും കുതിരകളിന്മേലും തെറിച്ചു; അവന് അവളെ ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

33. And he sayd: Throwe her downe. So they threwe her downe, & her blood dasshed toward the wall, and towarde the horses: and he troade her vnder foote.

34. അവന് ചെന്നു ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനം ചെയ്തശേഷംആ ശപിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ ചെന്നു നോക്കി അടക്കം ചെയ്വിന് ; അവള് രാജകുമാരിയല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

34. And when he was come in, he dyd eate and drinke, & sayd: Go and visite I pray you yonder cursed creature, and burie her: for she is a kinges daughter.

35. അവര് അവളെ അടക്കം ചെയ്വാന് ചെന്നാറെ അവളുടെ തലമണ്ടയും കാലുകളും കൈപ്പത്തികളും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും കണ്ടില്ല.

35. And so when they came to burie her, they founde no more of her then the skull, and the feete, and the palmes of her handes.

36. അവര് മടങ്ങിവന്നു അവനോടു അതു അറിയിച്ചു. അപ്പോള് അവന് യിസ്രെയേല് പ്രദേശത്തുവെച്ചു നായ്ക്കള് ഈസേബെലിന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകളയും;

36. Wherfore they came againe, and tolde him: And he sayd, This is the worde of the Lorde whiche he spake by the hand of his seruaunt Elias the Thesbite, saying: In the fielde of Iezrahel shall dogges eate the fleshe of Iezabel.

37. അതു ഈസേബെല് എന്നു പറവാന് കഴിയാതവണ്ണം ഈസേബെലിന്റെ പിണം യിസ്രെയേല്പ്രദേശത്തു വയലിലെ ചാണകം പോലെ ആകും എന്നിങ്ങനെ യഹോവ തിശ്ബ്യനായ എലീയാവു എന്ന തന്റെ ദാസന് മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്ത വചനം തന്നേ ഇതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

37. And so the carkasse of Iezabel was euen as dounge vpon the earth in the fielde of Iezrahel, so that no man might say, This is Iezabel.
