1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Then Job answered:

2. ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേല് ഭാരമാകുന്നു.

2. I am still complaining today. I groan because God is still making me suffer.

3. അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കില് കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കല് ഞാന് ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.

3. I wish I knew where to find him. I wish I knew how to go to where he lives.

4. ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുമ്പില് എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.

4. I would present my case to him. I would make my arguments to show that I am innocent.

5. അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവന് എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

5. He could give his response, and I would understand. I would listen closely to what he says.

6. അവന് ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവന് എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

6. Would God use his power against me? No, he would listen to me!

7. അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവന് അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാന് സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യില്നിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

7. Since I am an honest man, he would let me tell my story. Then my Judge would set me free!

8. ഞാന് കിഴക്കോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവന് അവിടെ ഇല്ല; പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടു ചെന്നാല് അവനെ കാണുകയില്ല.

8. If I go to the east, God is not there. If I go to the west, I still don't see him.

9. വടക്കു അവന് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില് നോക്കീട്ടു അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ല; തെക്കോട്ടു അവന് തിരിയുന്നു; അവനെ കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും.

9. When he is working in the north, I don't see him. When he turns to the south, I still don't see him.

10. എന്നാല് ഞാന് നടക്കുന്ന വഴി അവന് അറിയുന്നു; എന്നെ ശോധന കഴിച്ചാല് ഞാന് പൊന്നുപോലെ പുറത്തു വരും.

10. But God knows me. He is testing me and will see that I am as pure as gold.

11. എന്റെ കാലടി അവന്റെ ചുവടു തുടര്ന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു; ഞാന് വിട്ടുമാറാതെ അവന്റെ വഴി പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

11. I have always lived the way God wants. I have never stopped following him.

12. ഞാന് അവന്റെ അധരങ്ങളുടെ കല്പന വിട്ടു പിന്മാറീട്ടില്ല; അവന്റെ വായലിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ എന്റെ ആഹാരത്തെക്കാള് സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

12. I always obey his commands. I love the words from his mouth more than I love my food.

13. അവനോ അനന്യന് ; അവനെ തടുക്കുന്നതു ആര്? തിരുവുള്ളത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യം അവന് അനുഷ്ഠിക്കും.

13. But God never changes, and who can stand against him? He does anything he wants.

14. എനിക്കു നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു അവന് നിവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു; ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള പലതും അവന്റെ പക്കല് ഉണ്ടു.

14. He will do to me what he planned, and he has many other plans for me.

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അവന്റെ സാന്നിദ്ധ്യത്തിങ്കല് ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നു; ഔര്ത്തുനോക്കുമ്പോള് ഞാന് അവനെ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നു.

15. That is why I am terrified to stand before him. Just thinking about it makes me afraid.

16. ദൈവം എനിക്കു ധൈര്യക്ഷയം വരുത്തി, സര്വ്വശക്തന് എന്നെ ഭ്രമിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

16. The fear of God has made me lose my courage. God All-Powerful makes me afraid.

17. ഞാന് പരവശനായിരിക്കുന്നതു അന്ധകാരം നിമിത്തമല്ല, കൂരിരുട്ടു എന്റെ മുഖത്തെ മൂടുന്നതുകൊണ്ടുമല്ല.

17. What has happened to me is like a dark cloud over my face. But the darkness will not keep me quiet.
