1. എലീഹൂ പിന്നെയും പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാല്

1. Furthermore Elihu responded, and said:

2. ജ്ഞാനികളേ, എന്റെ വചനം കേള്പ്പിന് ; വിദ്വാന്മാരേ, എനിക്കു ചെവിതരുവിന് .

2. Hear, ye wise men, my words, and, ye who know, give ear unto me;

3. അണ്ണാകൂ ആഹാരത്തെ രുചിനോക്കുന്നു; ചെവിയോ വചനങ്ങളെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു;

3. For, the ear, trieth words, as, the palate, tasteth in eating.

4. ന്യായമായുള്ളതു നമുക്കു തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാം; നന്മയായുള്ളതു നമുക്കു തന്നേ ആലോചിച്ചറിയാം.

4. What is right, let us choose for ourselves, Let us know, among ourselves, what is good;

5. ഞാന് നീതിമാന് , ദൈവം എന്റെ ന്യായം തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞു; എന്റെ ന്യായത്തിന്നെതിരെ ഞാന് ഭോഷകു പറയേണമോ?

5. For Job hath said I am righteous, But, GOD, hath turned away my right;

6. ലംഘനം ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞിട്ടും എന്റെ മുറിവു പൊറുക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നിങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് പറഞ്ഞുവല്ലോ.

6. Concerning mine own right, shall I tell a falsehood? Incurable is my disease not for any transgression.

7. ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ ഒരാളുണ്ടോ? അവന് പരിഹാസത്തെ വെള്ളംപോലെ കുടിക്കുന്നു;

7. What man is like Job? He drinketh in scoffing like water;

8. അവന് ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോടു കൂട്ടുകൂടുന്നു; ദുര്ജ്ജനങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്നു.

8. And is on the way to keep company, with the workers of iniquity, and to walk with lawless men.

9. ദൈവത്തോടു രഞ്ജനയായിരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു മനുഷ്യന്നു പ്രയോജനമില്ലെന്നു അവന് പറഞ്ഞു.

9. For he hath said, It profiteth not a man, when, his good pleasure, is with God.

10. അതുകൊണ്ടു വിവേകികളേ, കേട്ടുകൊള്വിന് ; ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടതയോ സര്വ്വശക്തന് നീതികേടോ ഒരിക്കലും ചെയ്കയില്ല.

10. Wherefore, ye men of mind, hearken unto me, Far be it, that, GOD, should be lawless, or, the Almighty, be perverse!

11. അവന് മനുഷ്യന്നു അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു പകരം ചെയ്യും; ഔരോരുത്തന്നു അവനവന്റെ നടപ്പിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം കൊടുക്കും.

11. For, what any son of earth doeth, he repayeth him, and, according to every man's course, he causeth him to find.

12. ദൈവം ദുഷ്ടത പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കയില്ല നിശ്ചയം; സര്വ്വശക്തന് ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളകയുമില്ല.

12. Nay, verily, GOD, will not condemn unjustly, nor, the Almighty, pervert justice.

13. ഭൂമിയെ അവങ്കല് ഭരമേല്പിച്ചതാര്? ഭൂമണ്ഡലമാകെ സ്ഥാപിച്ചതാര്?

13. Who set him in charge of the earth? Or who appointed him the whole world?

14. അവന് തന്റെ കാര്യത്തില് മാത്രം ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചെങ്കില് തന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെയും ശ്വാസത്തെയും മടക്കി എടുത്തെങ്കില്

14. If he should set against him his heart, His spirit and his inspiration, unto himself he should withdraw.

15. സകലജഡവും ഒരുപോലെ കഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും; മനുഷ്യന് പൊടിയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിച്ചേരും.

15. All flesh together, would cease to breathe, and, the earth-born, unto dust, would return.

16. നിനക്കു വിവേകമുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഇതു കേട്ടുകൊള്ക; എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊള്ക;

16. If then thou hast understanding, hear this, Give thou ear to the teaching of my words:

17. ന്യായത്തെ പകെക്കുന്നവന് ഭരിക്കുമോ? നീതിമാനും ബലവാനുമായവനെ നീ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുമോ?

17. Shall, the very hater of right, control? Or, the just the mighty one, wilt thou condemn?

18. രാജാവിനോടുനീ വഷളന് എന്നും പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുനിങ്ങള് ദുഷ്ടന്മാര് എന്നും പറയുമോ?

18. Doth one say to a king, Abandoned one! Or, Lawless one! unto nobles?

19. അവന് പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ പക്ഷം എടുക്കുന്നില്ല; ദരിദ്രനെക്കാള് ധനവാനെ ആദരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അവരെല്ലാവരും തൃക്കൈയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയല്ലോ.

19. For he hath shewn no respect of persons unto princes, neither hath he recognised the rich rather than the poor? For, the work of his hands, are they all.

20. പെട്ടെന്നു അര്ദ്ധരാത്രിയില് തന്നേ അവര് മരിക്കുന്നു; ജനം കുലുങ്ങി ഒഴിഞ്ഞു പോകുന്നു; കൈ തൊടാതെ ബലശാലികള് നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു.

20. In a moment, they die, even in the middle of the night, A people are convulsed when they pass away, A mighty one is removed, without hand;

21. അവന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടി മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴികളിന്മേല് ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നടപ്പു ഒക്കെയും അവന് കാണുന്നു.

21. For, his eyes, are on the ways of a man, and, all his footsteps, he beholdeth,

22. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര്ക്കും ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ഇരുട്ടുമില്ല അന്ധതമസ്സുമില്ല.

22. No darkness, and no death-shade, where the workers of iniquity may hide.

23. മനുഷ്യന് ദൈവസന്നിധിയില് ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു ചെല്ലേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് അവനില് അധികം ദൃഷ്ടിവെപ്പാന് ആവശ്യമില്ല.

23. For, unto no man, doth he appoint a repetition, in going unto GOD in judgment;

24. വിചാരണ ചെയ്യാതെ അവന് ബലശാലികളെ തകര്ത്തുകളയുന്നു; അവര്ക്കും പകരം വേറെ ആളുകളെ നിയമിക്കുന്നു.

24. He shattereth mighty ones unsearchably, and setteth up others in their stead:

25. അങ്ങനെ അവന് അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അറിയുന്നു; രാത്രിയില് അവരെ മറിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവര് തകര്ന്നുപോകുന്നു.

25. Therefore, he observeth their works, and overturneth them in a night, and they are crushed;

26. കാണികള് കൂടുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുവെച്ചു അവന് അവരെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

26. In the place of lawless men, hath he chastised them, in presence of beholders.

27. അവര്, എളിയവരുടെ നിലവിളി അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് എത്തുവാനും പീഡിതന്മാരുടെ നിലവിളി അവന് കേള്പ്പാനും തക്കവണ്ണം

27. Forasmuch, as they turned from following him, and, none of his ways, did they teach;

28. അവനെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു പിന്മാറിക്കളകയും അവന്റെ വഴികളെ ഗണ്യമാക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

28. Causing to reach him the outcry of the poor, Yea, the outcry of the oppressed, he heareth.

29. വഷളനായ മനുഷ്യന് വാഴാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും ജനത്തെ കുടുക്കുവാന് ആരും ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

29. When, he, giveth quiet, who then shall condemn? And, when he hideth his face, who then shall sing of him? whether unto a nation or unto mankind altogether,

30. അവന് സ്വസ്ഥത നല്കിയാല് ആര് കുറ്റം വിധിക്കും? ഒരു ജാതിക്കായാലും ഒരാള്ക്കായാലും അവന് മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാല് ആര് അവനെ കാണും?

30. That impious men may not reign, nor be ensnarers of the people.

31. ഞാന് ശിക്ഷ സഹിച്ചു; ഞാന് ഇനി കുറ്റം ചെയ്കയില്ല;

31. For, unto GOD, hath one ever said I have borne punishment, I will not be perverse;

32. ഞാന് കാണാത്തതു എന്നെ പഠിപ്പിക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് അന്യായം ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കില് ഇനി ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും ദൈവത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടോ?

32. What I see not, do, thou, shew me, If, perverseness, I have wrought, I will do it no more?

33. നീ മുഷിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ടു അവന് നിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പകരം ചെയ്യേണമോ? ഞാനല്ല, നീ തന്നേ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കേണ്ടതല്ലോ; ആകയാല് നീ അറിയുന്നതു പ്രസ്താവിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

33. According to thy mind, must he requite it, that thou hast refused? For, thou, must choose, and not, I, What then thou knowest, speak!

34. ഇയ്യോബ് അറിവില്ലാതെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കുകളിലും ജ്ഞാനമില്ല എന്നു വിവേകമുള്ള പുരുഷന്മാരും

34. The men of mind, will say to me, yea any wise man hearkening unto me:

35. എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കുന്ന ഏതു ജ്ഞാനിയും എന്നോടു പറയും.

35. Job, without knowledge, doth speak, and, his words, are not with discretion.

36. ഇയ്യോബ് ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെപ്പോലെ പ്രതിവാദിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവനെ ആദിയോടന്തം പരിശോധിച്ചാല് കൊള്ളാം.

36. Would that Job might be tested to the uttermost, for replying with the men of iniquity:

37. അവന് തന്റെ പാപത്തോടു ദ്രോഹം ചേര്ക്കുംന്നു; അവന് നമ്മുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കൈ കൊട്ടുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി വാക്കു വര്ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

37. For he addeth unto his sin rebellion, In our midst, he clappeth his hands, and multiplieth his sayings against GOD.
