1. അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് യഹോവയോടു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു

1. Then Job answered Yahweh, and said,

2. നിനക്കു സകലവും കഴിയുമെന്നും നിന്റെ ഉദ്ദേശമൊന്നും അസാദ്ധ്യമല്ലെന്നും ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

2. I know that you can do all things, And that no purpose of yours can be restrained.

3. അറിവുകൂടാതെ ആലോചനയെ മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നോരിവനാര്? അങ്ങനെ എനിക്കറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാതവണ്ണം അത്ഭുതമേറിയതു ഞാന് തിരിച്ചറിയാതെ പറഞ്ഞുപോയി.

3. Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have uttered that which I didn't understand, Things too wonderful for me, which I didn't know.

4. കേള്ക്കേണമേ; ഞാന് സംസാരിക്കും; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും; എന്നെ ഗ്രഹിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.

4. Hear, I urge you, and I will speak; I will demand of you, and declare you to me.

5. ഞാന് നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു ഒരു കേള്വി മാത്രമേ കേട്ടിരുന്നുള്ളു; ഇപ്പോഴോ, എന്റെ കണ്ണാല് നിന്നെ കാണുന്നു.

5. I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear; But now my eye sees you:

6. ആകയാല് ഞാന് എന്നെത്തന്നേ വെറുത്തു പൊടിയിലും ചാരത്തിലും കിടന്നു അനുതപിക്കുന്നു.

6. Therefore I abhor [myself], And repent in dust and ashes.

7. യഹോവ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഇയ്യോബിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തശേഷം യഹോവ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുനിന്നോടും നിന്റെ രണ്ടു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരോടും എനിക്കു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

7. And it was so, that, after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two companions; for you+ have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my slave Job has.

8. ആകയാല് നിങ്ങള് ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പിന് ; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബ് നിങ്ങള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിക്കും; ഞാന് അവന്റെ മുഖം ആദരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ മൂഢതെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങള് എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

8. Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my slave Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt-offering; and my slave Job will pray for you+; for him I will accept, that I do not deal with you+ after your+ folly; for you+ have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my slave Job has.

9. അങ്ങനെ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസും ശൂഹ്യനായ ബില്ദാദും നയമാത്യനായ സോഫരും ചെന്നു യഹോവ തങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ ആദരിച്ചു.

9. So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according to as Yahweh commanded them: and Yahweh accepted Job.

10. ഇയ്യോബ് തന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാര്ക്കും വേണ്ടി പ്രാര്ത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോള് യഹോവ അവന്റെ സ്ഥിതിക്കു ഭേദം വരുത്തി മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്നു ഇരട്ടിയായി കൊടുത്തു.

10. And Yahweh turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his companions: and Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11. അവന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാരും സഹോദരിമാരും മുമ്പെ അവന്നു പരിചയമുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കല് വന്നു അവന്റെ വീട്ടില് അവനോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെമേല് വരുത്തിയിരുന്ന സകലഅനര്ത്ഥത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു അവര് അവനോടു സഹതാപം കാണിച്ചു അവനെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു; ഔരോരുത്തനും അവന്നു ഔരോ പൊന് നാണ്യവും ഔരോ പൊന് മോതിരവും കൊടുത്തു.

11. Then there came to him all his brothers, and all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, and ate bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one a ring of gold.

12. ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പിന് കാലത്തെ അവന്റെ മുന് കാലത്തെക്കാള് അധികം അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവന്നു പതിന്നാലായിരം ആടും ആറായിരം ഒട്ടകവും ആയിരം ഏര് കാളയും ആയിരം പെണ്കഴുതയും ഉണ്ടായി.

12. So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-donkeys.

13. അവന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരും മൂന്നു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായി.

13. He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14. മൂത്തവള്ക്കു അവന് യെമീമാ എന്നും രണ്ടാമത്തെവള്ക്കു കെസീയാ എന്നും മൂന്നാമത്തവള്ക്കു കേരെന് -ഹപ്പൂക് എന്നും പേര് വിളിച്ചു.

14. And he called the name of the first, Jemimah: and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren-happuch.

15. ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെ സൌന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകള് ദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അപ്പന് അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവര്ക്കും അവകാശം കൊടുത്തു.

15. And in all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brothers.

16. അതിന്റെശേഷം ഇയ്യോബ് നൂറ്റിനാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവന് മക്കളെയും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളെയും നാലു തലമുറയോളം കണ്ടു.

16. And after this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, [even] four generations.

17. അങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് വൃദ്ധനും കാലസമ്പൂര്ണ്ണനുമായി മരിച്ചു.

17. So Job died, being old and full of days.
