1. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.

1. A psalm of David. O LORD, I call to you; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to you.

2. യഹോവേ, ഞാന് നിന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു വേഗം വരേണമേ; ഞാന് നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുമ്പോള് എന്റെ അപേക്ഷ കേള്ക്കേണമേ.

2. May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.

3. Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

4. യഹോവേ, എന്റെ വായക്കു ഒരു കാവല് നിര്ത്തി, എന്റെ അധരദ്വാരം കാക്കേണമേ.

4. Let not my heart be drawn to what is evil, to take part in wicked deeds with men who are evildoers; let me not eat of their delicacies.

5. ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തികളില് ഇടപെടുവാന് എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ ദുഷ്കാര്യത്തിന്നു ചായ്ക്കരുതേ; അവരുടെ സ്വാദുഭോജനം ഞാന് കഴിക്കയുമരുതേ.

5. Let a righteous man strike me-- it is a kindness; let him rebuke me-- it is oil on my head. My head will not refuse it. Yet my prayer is ever against the deeds of evildoers;

6. നീതിമാന് എന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നതു ദയ; അവന് എന്നെ ശാസിക്കുന്നതു തലെക്കു എണ്ണ; എന്റെ തല അതിനെ വിലക്കാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ഇനി അവര് ചെയ്യുന്ന ദോഷങ്ങള്ക്കെതിരെ എനിക്കു പ്രാര്ത്ഥനയേയുള്ളു.

6. their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs, and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.

7. അവരുടെ ന്യായാധിപന്മാരെ പാറമേല് നിന്നു തള്ളിയിടും; എന്റെ വാക്കുകള് ഇമ്പമുള്ളവയാകയാല് അവര് അവയെ കേള്ക്കും.

7. [They will say,] 'As one plows and breaks up the earth, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.'

8. നിലം ഉഴുതു മറിച്ചിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ അസ്ഥികള് പാതാളത്തിന്റെ വാതില്ക്കല് ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്നു.

8. But my eyes are fixed on you, O Sovereign LORD; in you I take refuge-- do not give me over to death.

9. കര്ത്താവായ യഹോവേ, എന്റെ കണ്ണു നിങ്കലേക്കു ആകുന്നു; ഞാന് നിന്നെ ശരണമാക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ തൂകിക്കളയരുതേ.

9. Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, from the traps set by evildoers.

10. അവര് എനിക്കു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന കണിയിലും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരുടെ കുടുക്കുകളിലും അകപ്പെടാതവണ്ണം എന്നെ കാക്കേണമേ.

10. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
