1. എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ശുഭവചനത്താല് കവിയുന്നു; എന്റെ കൃതി രാജാവിന്നു വേണ്ടിയുള്ളതു എന്നു ഞാന് പറയുന്നു. എന്റെ നാവു സമര്ത്ഥനായ ലേഖകന്റെ എഴുത്തുകോല് ആകുന്നു.

1. My heart is composing a goodly matter; I speak of the verses which I have made concerning the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

2. നീ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരില് അതിസുന്ദരന് ; ലാവണ്യം നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങളിന്മേല് പകര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവം നിന്നെ എന്നേക്കും അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Thou art fairer than the children of men; grace is poured into Thy lips; therefore God hath blessed Thee for ever.

3. വീരനായുള്ളോവേ, നിന്റെ വാള് അരെക്കു കെട്ടുക; നിന്റെ തേജസ്സും നിന്റെ മഹിമയും തന്നേ.

3. Gird Thy sword upon Thy thigh, O most Mighty, with Thy glory and Thy majesty.

4. സത്യവും സൌമ്യതയും നീതിയും പാലിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ മഹിമയോടെ കൃതാര്ത്ഥനായി വാഹനമേറി എഴുന്നെള്ളുക; നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ ഭയങ്കരകാര്യങ്ങളെ നിനക്കുപദേശിച്ചുതരുമാറാകട്ടെ.

4. And in Thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and Thy right hand shall teach Thee fearsome things.

5. നിന്റെ അസ്ത്രങ്ങള് മൂര്ച്ചയുള്ളവയാകുന്നു; ജാതികള് നിന്റെ കീഴില് വീഴുന്നു; രാജാവിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ നെഞ്ചത്തു അവ തറെക്കുന്നു.

5. Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the King's enemies, whereby the people fall under Thee.

6. ദൈവമേ, നിന്റെ സിംഹാസനം എന്നും എന്നേക്കും ഉള്ളതാകുന്നു; നിന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ ചെങ്കോല് നീതിയുള്ള ചെങ്കോലാകുന്നു.

6. Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; the scepter of Thy Kingdom is a righteous scepter.

7. നീ നീതിയെ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു ദുഷ്ടതയെ ദ്വേഷിക്കുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവം, നിന്റെ ദൈവം തന്നെ, നിന്റെ കൂട്ടുകാരില് പരമായി നിന്നെ ആനന്ദതൈലംകൊണ്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

7. Thou lovest righteousness and hatest wickedness; therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows.

8. നിന്റെ വസ്ത്രമെല്ലാം മൂറും ചന്ദനവും ലവംഗവുംകൊണ്ടു സുഗന്ധമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ദന്തമന്ദിരങ്ങളില്നിന്നു കമ്പിനാദം നിന്നെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

8. All Thy garments smell of myrrh and aloes and cassia, out of the ivory palaces whereby they have made Thee glad.

9. നിന്റെ സ്ത്രിരത്നങ്ങളുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് രാജകുമാരികള് ഉണ്ടു; നിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തു രാജ്ഞി ഔഫീര് തങ്കം അണിഞ്ഞു നിലക്കുന്നു.

9. Kings' daughters were among Thy honorable women; at Thy right hand stood the queen in gold of Ophir.

10. അല്ലയോ കുമാരീ, കേള്ക്ക; നോക്കുക; ചെവി ചായ്ക്ക. സ്വജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തെയും മറക്ക.

10. Hearken, O daughter, and consider and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people and thy father's house.

11. അപ്പോള് രാജാവു നിന്റെ സൌന്ദര്യത്തെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കും; അവന് നിന്റെ നാഥനല്ലോ; നീ അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചുകൊള്ക.

11. So shall the King greatly desire thy beauty, for He is thy Lord; worship thou Him.

12. സോര്നിവാസികള്, ജനത്തിലെ ധനവാന്മാര് തന്നേ, കാഴ്ചവെച്ചു നിന്റെ മുഖപ്രസാദം തേടും.

12. And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall entreat thy favor.

13. അ:ന്തപുരത്തിലെ രാജകുമാരി ശോഭാപരിപൂര്ണ്ണയാകുന്നു; അവളുടെ വസ്ത്രം പൊന് കസവുകൊണ്ടുള്ളതു.

13. The King's daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is of wrought gold.

14. അവളെ ചിത്രത്തയ്യലുള്ള വസ്ത്രം ധരിപ്പിച്ചു രാജസന്നിധിയില് കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവളുടെ തോഴിമാരായി കൂടെ നടക്കുന്ന കന്യകമാരെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കല് കൊണ്ടുവരും.

14. She shall be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework; the virgins, her companions that follow her, shall be brought unto Thee.

15. സന്തോഷത്തോടും ഉല്ലാസത്തോടും കൂടെ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുവരും; അവര് രാജമന്ദിരത്തില് പ്രവേശിക്കും.

15. With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought; they shall enter into the King's palace.

16. നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാര് നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാര്ക്കും പകരം ഇരിക്കും; സര്വ്വഭൂമിയിലും നീ അവരെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരാക്കും.

16. Instead of Thy fathers shall be Thy children, whom Thou mayest make princes in all the earth.

17. ഞാന് നിന്റെ നാമത്തെ എല്ലാ തലമുറകളിലും ഔര്ക്കുംമാറാക്കും. അതു കൊണ്ടു ജാതികള് എന്നും എന്നേക്കും നിനക്കു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യും.

17. I will make Thy name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise Thee for ever and ever.
