1. ദൈവമേ, നീ എന്റെ ദൈവം; അതികാലത്തേ ഞാന് നിന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കും; വെള്ളമില്ലാതെ ഉണങ്ങി വരണ്ട ദേശത്തു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം നിനക്കായി ദാഹിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദേഹം നിനക്കായി കാംക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

1. A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Juda. O God, thou art my God, early will I seek thee, my soul thursteth for thee, my flesh longeth after thee in a barren and dry land, where no water is.

2. അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ ബലവും മഹത്വവും കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തില് നിന്നെ നോക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

2. Thus do I look for thee in thy Sanctuary, that I might behold thy power and glory.

3. നിന്റെ ദയ ജീവനെക്കാള് നല്ലതാകുന്നു; എന്റെ അധരങ്ങള് നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കും.

3. For thy loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.

4. എന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും ഞാന് അങ്ങനെ നിന്നെ വാഴ്ത്തും; നിന്റെ നാമത്തില് ഞാന് എന്റെ കൈകളെ മലര്ത്തും.

4. As long as I live will I magnify thee and lift up my hands in thy name.

5. എന്റെ കിടക്കയില് നിന്നെ ഔര്ക്കയും ഞാന് രാത്രിയാമങ്ങളില് നിന്നെ ധ്യാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്

5. My soul is satisfied even as it were with marry and fatness, when my mouth praiseth thee with joyful lips.

6. എന്റെ പ്രാണന്നു മജ്ജയും മേദസ്സുംകൊണ്ടു എന്നപോലെ തൃപ്തിവരുന്നു; എന്റെ വായ് സന്തോഷമുള്ള അധരങ്ങളാല് നിന്നെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

6. In my bed will I remember thee, and when I wake my talking shall be of thee.

7. നീ എനിക്കു സഹായമായിത്തീര്ന്നുവല്ലോ; നിന്റെ ചിറകിന് നിഴലില് ഞാന് ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.

7. For thou hast been my helper, and under the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

8. എന്റെ ഉള്ളം നിന്നോടു പറ്റിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ താങ്ങുന്നു.

8. My soul hangeth upon thee, thy right hand upholdeth me.

9. എന്നാല് അവര് സ്വന്തനാശത്തിന്നായി എനിക്കു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാന് നോക്കുന്നു; അവര് ഭൂമിയുടെ അധോഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

9. They seek after my soul, but in vain, for they shall go under the earth.

10. അവരെ വാളിന്റെ ശക്തിക്കു ഏല്പിക്കും; കുറുനരികള്ക്കു അവര് ഇരയായ്തീരും.

10. They shall fall into the sword, and be a portion for foxes.

11. എന്നാല് രാജാവു ദൈവത്തില് സന്തോഷിക്കും അവന്റെ നാമത്തില് സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനെല്ലാം പുകഴും; എങ്കിലും ഭോഷകു പറയുന്നവരുടെ വായ് അടഞ്ഞുപോകും. (സംഗീതപ്രമാണിക്കു; ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു സങ്കീര്ത്തനം.)

11. But the king shall rejoice in God: all they that swear by him, shall be commended, for the mouth of liars shall be stopped.
