1. അതിന്റെശേഷം മോശെയും അഹരോനും ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടുമരുഭൂമിയില് എനിക്കു ഉത്സവം കഴിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടയക്കേണം എന്നിപ്രകാരം യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

1. And afterwards, Moses and Aaron went in and said unto Pharaoh, Thus, saith Yahweh God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.

2. അതിന്നു ഫറവോന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയപ്പാന് തക്കവണ്ണം ഞാന് യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് ആര്? ഞാന് യഹോവയെ അറികയില്ല; ഞാന് യിസ്രായേലിനെ വിട്ടയക്കയുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

2. Then said Pharaoh, Who is Yahweh that I should hearken to his voice, to let Israel go? I know not Yahweh, and certainly. Israel, will I not let go!

3. അതിന്നു അവര്എബ്രായരുടെ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങള്ക്കു പ്രത്യക്ഷനായ്വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് മഹാമാരിയാലോ വാളാലോ ഞങ്ങളെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങള് മൂന്നു ദിവസത്തെ വഴി മരുഭൂമിയില് പോയി, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

3. And they said, the God of the Hebrews, hath met with us, let us go, we pray thee, a journey of three days into the desert and sacrifice to Yahweh our God, lest he fall upon us with pestilence or with sword.

4. മിസ്രയീംരാജാവു അവരോടുമോശേ, അഹരോനേ, നിങ്ങള് ജനങ്ങളെ വേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നതു എന്തു? നിങ്ങളുടെ ഊഴിയ വേലെക്കു പോകുവിന് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

4. And the king of Egypt said unto them, Wherefore O Moses and Aaron should ye loose the people from their works? Get you to your burdens.

5. ദേശത്തു ജനം ഇപ്പോള് വളരെ ആകുന്നു; നിങ്ങള് അവരെ അവരുടെ ഊഴിയവേല മിനക്കെടുത്തുന്നു എന്നും ഫറവോന് പറഞ്ഞു.

5. And Pharaoh said, Lo! many now, are the people of the land, and are ye to make them rest from their burdens?

6. അന്നു ഫറവോന് ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാരോടും പ്രമാണികളോടും കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാല്

6. So then Pharaoh gave command on that day, unto the taskmasters over the people and unto their overseers saying:

7. ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവാന് ജനത്തിന്നു മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇനി വൈക്കോല് കൊടുക്കരുതു; അവര് തന്നേ പോയി വൈക്കോല് ശേഖരിക്കട്ടെ.

7. Ye shall no more give straw unto the people, for making the bricks as heretofore: Let them, go, themselves, so shall they gather for themselves straw:

8. എങ്കിലും ഇഷ്ടികയുടെ കണകൂ മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ തന്നേ അവരുടെ മേല് ചുമത്തേണം; ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കരുതു. അവര് മടിയന്മാര്; അതുകൊണ്ടാകുന്നുഞങ്ങള് പോയി ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്നു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നതു.

8. Nevertheless, the fixed number of bricks, which they have been making heretofore, shall ye lay upon them, ye shall not diminish therefrom, for idle, they are, on this account, it is that they are making an outcry, saying, We must go our way, we must sacrifice to our God.

9. അവരുടെ വേല അതിഭാരമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; അവര് അതില് കഷ്ടപ്പെടട്ടെ;

9. The service must be made heavy on the men that they may labour on it, and let them not pay regard to words of falsehood.

10. അവരുടെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകള് കേള്ക്കരുതു. അങ്ങനെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാരും പ്രമാണികളും ചെന്നു ജനത്തോടുനിങ്ങള്ക്കു വൈക്കോല് തരികയില്ല,

10. Then went forth the taskmasters of the people and their overseers, and spake unto the people, saying, Thus, saith Pharaoh, I am not going to give you straw,

11. നിങ്ങള് തന്നേ പോയി കിട്ടുന്നേടത്തുനിന്നു വൈക്കോല് ശേഖരിപ്പിന് ; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളുടെ വേലയില് ഒട്ടും കുറെക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഫറവോന് കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

11. Ye yourselves go fetch you straw, of any ye can find, yet hath there not been diminished from your service a single thing.

12. അങ്ങനെ ജനം വൈക്കോലിന്നു പകരം താളടി ശേഖരിപ്പാന് മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തു എല്ലാടവും ചിതറി നടന്നു.

12. So the people dispersed themselves throughout all the land of Egypt, to gather stubble for straw:

13. ഊഴിയ വിചാരകന്മാര് അവരെ ഹേമിച്ചുവൈക്കോല് കിട്ടിവന്നപ്പോള് ഉള്ളതിന്നു ശരിയായി നിങ്ങളുടെ നിത്യവേല ദിവസവും തികെക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

13. the taskmasters, meanwhile, being urgent saying, Complete your works, The task of a day, in its day, as when the straw was provided.

14. ഫറവോന്റെ ഊഴിയവിചാരകന്മാര് യിസ്രായേല് മക്കളുടെ മേല് ആക്കിയിരുന്ന പ്രമാണികളെ അടിച്ചുനിങ്ങള് ഇന്നലെയും ഇന്നും മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെ ഇഷ്ടിക തികെക്കാഞ്ഞതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

14. Then were beaten the overseers of the sons of Israel, whom the taskmasters of Pharaoh had set over them saying: Wherefore have ye not completed your task for making bricks, as heretofore, so also, yesterday and, to-day?

15. അതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികള് ചെന്നു ഫറവോനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; അടിയങ്ങളോടു ഇങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുന്നതു എന്തു?

15. Then came in the overseers of the sons of Israel, and made outcry unto Pharaoh, saying, Wherefore shouldst thou do thus to thy servants?

16. അടിയങ്ങള്ക്കു വൈക്കോല് തരാതെ ഇഷ്ടിക ഉണ്ടാക്കുവിന് എന്നു അവര് പറയുന്നു; അടിയങ്ങളെ തല്ലുന്നു; അതു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു പാപമാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

16. No straw, is given to thy servants, yet bricks, they keep saying to us make ye! And lo, thy servants, are beaten thou dost, therefore, wrong thy people.

17. അതിന്നു അവന് മടിയന്മാരാകുന്നു നിങ്ങള്, മടിയന്മാര്; അതുകൊണ്ടുഞങ്ങള് പോയി യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു നിങ്ങള് പറയുന്നു.

17. But he said: Idle, ye are idle, on this account, are, ye, saying, We must take our journey, we must sacrifice to Yahweh.

18. പോയി വേല ചെയ്വിന് ; വൈക്കോല് തരികയില്ല, ഇഷ്ടിക കണകൂപോലെ ഏല്പിക്കേണംതാനും എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

18. Now, therefore, go labour, but, straw, shall not be given you, yet the tale of bricks, shall ye render.

19. ദിവസംതോറുമുള്ള ഇഷ്ടികക്കണക്കില് ഒന്നും കുറെക്കരുതു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചപ്പോള് തങ്ങള് വിഷമത്തിലായി എന്നു യിസ്രായേല്മക്കളുടെ പ്രാമണികള് കണ്ടു.

19. Then did the overseers of the sons of Israel see themselves to be in an evil case, when it was said, Ye shall not diminish from your bricks the task of a day, in its day

20. അവര് ഫറവോനെ വിട്ടു പുറപ്പെടുമ്പോള് മോശെയും അഹരോനും വഴിയില് നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു,

20. So they fell upon Moses and upon Aaron, stationing themselves to meet them, as they came forth from Pharaoh;

21. അവരോടു നിങ്ങള് ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരുടെയും മുമ്പാകെ ഞങ്ങളെ നാറ്റി, ഞങ്ങളെ കൊല്ലുവാന് അവരുടെ കയ്യില് വാള് കൊടുത്തതുകൊണ്ടു യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ നോക്കി ന്യായം വിധിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

21. and they said unto them, Yahweh look upon you and judge, in that ye have made us odious in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of his servants, putting a sword into their hand to slay us.

22. അപ്പോള് മോശെ യഹോവയുടെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നുകര്ത്താവേ, നീ ഈ ജനത്തിന്നു ദോഷം വരുത്തിയതു എന്തു? നീ എന്നെ അയച്ചതു എന്തിന്നു?

22. And Moses returned unto Yahweh and said, O My Lord wherefore hast thou caused harm to this people? Wherefore now didst thou send me?

23. ഞാന് നിന്റെ നാമത്തില് സംസാരിപ്പാന് ഫറവോന്റെ അടുക്കല് ചെന്നതുമുതല് അവന് ഈ ജനത്തോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ജനത്തെ നീ വിടുവിച്ചതുമില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

23. seeing that from what time I came in unto Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done harm to this people, and thou hast not delivered, thy people,
