1. രാജാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യില് നീര്ത്തോടുകണക്കെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; തനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തേക്കൊക്കെയും അവന് അതിനെ തിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever ends he chooses.

2. മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴി ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു ചൊവ്വായിത്തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

2. We justify our actions by appearances; GOD examines our motives.

3. നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവേക്കു ഹനനയാഗത്തെക്കാള് ഇഷ്ടം.

3. Clean living before God and justice with our neighbors mean far more to GOD than religious performance.

4. ഗര്വ്വമുള്ള കണ്ണും അഹങ്കാരഹൃദയവും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ദീപവും പാപം തന്നേ.

4. Arrogance and pride--distinguishing marks in the wicked-- are just plain sin.

5. ഉത്സാഹിയുടെ വിചാരങ്ങള് സമൃദ്ധിഹേതുകങ്ങള് ആകുന്നു; ബദ്ധപ്പാടുകാരൊക്കെയും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലേക്കത്രേ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നതു.

5. Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind.

6. കള്ളനാവുകൊണ്ടു ധനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന ആവിയാകുന്നു; അതിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവര് മരണത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

6. Make it to the top by lying and cheating; get paid with smoke and a promotion--to death!

8. Mixed motives twist life into tangles; pure motives take you straight down the road.

9. ശണ്ഠകൂടുന്ന സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പൊതുവീട്ടില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതിനെക്കാള് മേല്പുരയുടെ ഒരു കോണില് പാര്ക്കുംന്നതു നല്ലതു.

9. Better to live alone in a tumbledown shack than share a mansion with a nagging spouse.

10. ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മനസ്സു ദോഷത്തെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു ദയ തോന്നുന്നതുമില്ല.

10. Wicked souls love to make trouble; they feel nothing for friends and neighbors.

11. പരിഹാസിയെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചാല് അല്പബുദ്ധി ജ്ഞാനിയായ്തീരും; ജ്ഞാനിയെ ഉപദേശിച്ചാല് അവന് പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.

11. Simpletons only learn the hard way, but the wise learn by listening.

12. നീതിമാനായവന് ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്മേല് ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

12. A God-loyal person will see right through the wicked and undo the evil they've planned.

13. എളിയവന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കു ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയുന്നവന് താനും വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; ഉത്തരം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

13. If you stop your ears to the cries of the poor, your cries will go unheard, unanswered.

14. രഹസ്യത്തില് ചെയ്യുന്ന ദാനം കോപത്തെയും മടിയില് കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സമ്മാനം ഉഗ്രകോപത്തെയും ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

14. A quietly given gift soothes an irritable person; a heartfelt present cools a hot temper.

15. ന്യായം പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്നതു നീതിമാന്നു സന്തോഷവും ദുഷ്പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാര്ക്കും ഭയങ്കരവും ആകുന്നു.

15. Good people celebrate when justice triumphs, but for the workers of evil it's a bad day.

16. വിവേകമാര്ഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുനടക്കുന്നവന് മൃതന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില് വിശ്രമിക്കും.

19. ശണ്ഠയും ദുശ്ശീലവുമുള്ള സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പാര്ക്കുംന്നതിലും നിര്ജ്ജനപ്രദേശത്തു പോയി പാര്ക്കുംന്നതു നല്ലതു.

19. Better to live in a tent in the wild than with a cross and petulant spouse.

20. ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ പാര്പ്പിടത്തില് വിലയേറിയ നിക്ഷേപവും തൈലവും ഉണ്ടു; മൂഢനോ അവയെ ദുര്വ്യയം ചെയ്തുകളയുന്നു.

20. Valuables are safe in a wise person's home; fools put it all out for yard sales.

21. നീതിയും ദയയും പിന്തുടരുന്നവന് ജീവനും നീതിയും മാനവും കണ്ടെത്തും.

26. Sinners are always wanting what they don't have; the God-loyal are always giving what they do have.

27. ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഹനനയാഗം വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു; അവന് ദുരാന്തരത്തോടെ അതു അര്പ്പിച്ചാല് എത്ര അധികം!

27. Religious performance by the wicked stinks; it's even worse when they use it to get ahead.

28. കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി നശിച്ചുപോകും; ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേള്ക്കുന്നവന്നോ എപ്പോഴും സംസാരിക്കാം.

28. A lying witness is unconvincing; a person who speaks truth is respected.

29. ദുഷ്ടന് മുഖധാര്ഷ്ട്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവനോ തന്റെ വഴി നന്നാക്കുന്നു.

29. Unscrupulous people fake it a lot; honest people are sure of their steps.

30. യഹോവെക്കെതിരെ ജ്ഞാനവുമില്ല, ബുദ്ധിയുമില്ല, ആലോചനയുമില്ല.

30. Nothing clever, nothing conceived, nothing contrived, can get the better of GOD.

31. കുതിരയെ യുദ്ധദിവസത്തേക്കു ചമയിക്കുന്നു; ജയമോ യഹോവയുടെ കൈവശത്തിലിരിക്കുന്നു.

31. Do your best, prepare for the worst-- then trust GOD to bring victory.
