1. നീ എന്റെ അമ്മയുടെ മുലകുടിച്ച സഹോദരന് ആയിരുന്നുവെങ്കില്! ഞാന് നിന്നെ വെളിയില് കണ്ടു ചുംബിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ആരും എന്നെ നിന്ദിക്കയില്ലായിരുന്നു.

1. Who can give You to me, as my brother, who sucked the breasts of my mother? When I find You outside, I would kiss You. They also would not despise me.

2. നീ എനിക്കു ഉപദേശം തരേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാന് നിന്നെ അമ്മയുടെ വീട്ടില് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുമായിരുന്നു; സുഗന്ധവര്ഗ്ഗം ചേര്ത്ത വീഞ്ഞും എന്റെ മാതളപ്പഴത്തിന് ചാറും ഞാന് നിനക്കു കുടിപ്പാന് തരുമായിരുന്നു.

2. I would lead You; I would bring You into my mother's house, that You might teach me; I would cause You to drink the spiced wine from the juice of my pomegranate.

3. അവന്റെ ഇടങ്കൈ എന്റെ തലയിന് കീഴെ ഇരിക്കട്ടെ; അവന്റെ വലങ്കൈ എന്നെ ആശ്ളേഷിക്കട്ടെ.

3. His left hand would be under my head, and His right hand embracing me.

4. യെരൂശലേംപുത്രിമാരേ, പ്രേമത്തിന്നു ഇഷ്ടമാകുവോളം അതിനെ ഇളക്കരുതു ഉണര്ത്തുകയുമരുതു എന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളോടു ആണയിട്ടപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

4. I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem; why do you awaken; yea, why do you awaken my Love until it pleases?

5. മരുഭൂമിയില്നിന്നു തന്റെ പ്രിയന്റെ മേല് ചാരിക്കൊണ്ടു വരുന്നോരിവള് ആര്? നാരകത്തിന് ചുവട്ടില്വെച്ചു ഞാന് നിന്നെ ഉണര്ത്തി; അവിടെ വെച്ചല്ലോ നിന്റെ അമ്മ നിന്നെ പ്രസവിച്ചതു; അവിടെവെച്ചല്ലോ നിന്നെ പെറ്റവള്ക്കു ഈറ്റുനോവു കിട്ടിയതു.

5. Who is this that comes up from the wilderness, leaning on her Beloved? I awakened you under the apple tree; there your mother travailed with you; there she travailed; she bore you.

6. എന്നെ ഒരു മുദ്രമോതിരമായി നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്മേലും ഒരു മുദ്രമോതിരമായി നിന്റെ ഭുജത്തിന്മേലും വെച്ചുകൊള്ളേണമേ; പ്രേമം മരണംപോലെ ബലമുള്ളതും പത്നീവ്രതശങ്ക പാതാളംപോലെ കടുപ്പമുള്ളതും ആകുന്നു; അതിന്റെ ജ്വലനം അഗ്നിജ്വലനവും ഒരു ദിവ്യജ്വാലയും തന്നേ.

6. Set me as a seal on Your heart, as a seal on Your arm. For love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as Sheol; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of Jehovah.

7. ഏറിയ വെള്ളങ്ങള് പ്രേമത്തെ കെടുപ്പാന് പോരാ; നദികള് അതിനെ മുക്കിക്കളകയില്ല. ഒരുത്തന് തന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിലുള്ള സര്വ്വസമ്പത്തും പ്രേമത്തിന്നു വേണ്ടി കൊടുത്താലും അവനെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളയും.

7. Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, they surely would despise him.

8. നമുക്കു ഒരു ചെറിയ പെങ്ങള് ഉണ്ടു; അവള്ക്കു സ്തനങ്ങള് വന്നിട്ടില്ല; നമ്മുടെ പെങ്ങള്ക്കു കല്യാണം പറയുന്നനാളില് നാം അവള്ക്കു വേണ്ടി എന്തു ചെയ്യും?

8. We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister in the day she shall be spoken for?

9. അവള് ഒരു മതില് എങ്കില് അതിന്മേല് ഒരു വെള്ളിമകുടം പണിയാമായിരുന്നു; ഒരു വാതില് എങ്കില് ദേവദാരുപ്പലകകൊണ്ടു അടെക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

9. If she is a wall, we will build a turret of silver on her. And if she is a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.

10. ഞാന് മതിലും എന്റെ സ്തനങ്ങള് ഗോപുരങ്ങള് പോലെയും ആയിരുന്നു; അന്നു ഞാന് അവന്റെ ദൃഷ്ടിയില് സമാധാനം പ്രാപിച്ചിരുന്നു.

10. I was a wall, and my breasts like towers; then I was in His eyes as one finding peace.

11. ശലോമോന്നു ബാല്ഹാമോനില് ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ആ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം അവന് കാവല്ക്കാരെ ഏല്പിച്ചു; അതിന്റെ പാട്ടമായിട്ടു, ഔരോരുത്തന് ആയിരം പണം വീതം കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടിയിരുന്നു.

11. Solomon had a vineyard in Baal-hamon. He leased the vineyard to keepers; for its fruit everyone was to bring a thousand of silver.

12. എന്റെ സ്വന്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം എന്റെ കൈവശം ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ശലോമോനേ, നിനക്കു ആയിരവും ഫലം കാക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ഇരുനൂറും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ.

12. My vineyard which is mine is before me; the thousand is for you, O Solomon, and two hundred for the keepers of its fruit.

13. ഉദ്യാനനിവാസിനിയേ, സഖിമാര് നിന്റെ സ്വരം ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു കേള്ക്കുന്നു; അതു എന്നെയും കേള്പ്പിക്കേണമേ.

13. You who dwell in the gardens, the companions are listening to your voice; cause me to hear it.

14. എന്റെ പ്രിയാ നീ പരിമളപര്വ്വതങ്ങളിലെ ചെറുമാനിന്നും കലകൂട്ടിക്കും തുല്യനായി ഔടിപ്പോക.

14. Hurry, my Beloved, and be like a gazelle, or a young deer, the stag, on the mountains of spices.
