1. ഒരു രാജാവു നീതിയോടെ വാഴും; പ്രഭുക്കന്മാര് ന്യായത്തോടെ അധികാരം നടത്തും.

1. Indeed, a king will reign righteously, and rulers will rule justly.

2. ഔരോരുത്തന് കാറ്റിന്നു ഒരു മറവും പിശറിന്നു ഒരു സങ്കേതവും ആയി വരണ്ട നിലത്തു നീര്ത്തോടുകള്പോലെയും ക്ഷീണമുള്ള ദേശത്തു ഒരു വമ്പാറയുടെ തണല്പോലെയും ഇരിക്കും.

2. Each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the rain, like streams of water in a dry land and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land.

3. കാണുന്നവരുടെ കണ്ണു ഇനി മങ്ങുകയില്ല; കേള്ക്കുന്നവരുടെ ചെവി ശ്രദ്ധിക്കും.

3. Then the eyes of those who see will not be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen.

4. അവിവേകികളുടെ ഹൃദയം പരിജ്ഞാനം ഗ്രഹിക്കും; വിക്കന്മാരുടെ നാവു തടവില്ലാതെ വ്യക്തമായി സംസാരിക്കും.

4. The reckless mind will gain knowledge, and the stammering tongue will speak clearly and fluently.

5. ഭോഷനെ ഇനി ഉത്തമന് എന്നു വിളിക്കയില്ല; ആഭാസനെ മഹാത്മാവെന്നു പറകയുമില്ല.

5. A fool will no longer be called a noble, nor a scoundrel said to be important.

6. ഭോഷന് ഭോഷത്വം സംസാരിക്കും; വഷളത്വം ചെയ്തും യഹോവേക്കു വിരോധമായി അബദ്ധം സംസാരിച്ചും വിശപ്പുള്ളവരെ പട്ടിണിയിട്ടും ദാഹമുള്ളവര്ക്കും പാനം മുടക്കിയുംകൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം നീതികേടും പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കും.

6. For a fool speaks foolishness and his mind plots iniquity. He lives in a godless way and speaks falsely about the LORD. He leaves the hungry empty and deprives the thirsty of drink.

7. ആഭാസന്റെ ആയുധങ്ങളും ദോഷമുള്ളവ; ദരിദ്രന് ന്യായമായി സംസാരിച്ചാലും എളിയവരെ വ്യാജവാക്കുകൊണ്ടു നശിപ്പിപ്പാന് അവന് ദുരുപായങ്ങളെ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നു.

7. The scoundrel's weapons are destructive; he hatches plots to destroy the needy with lies, and by charging the poor during a judgment.

8. ഉത്തമനോ ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളെ ചിന്തിക്കന്നു; ഉത്തമകാര്യങ്ങളില് അവന് ഉറ്റുനിലക്കുന്നു.

8. But a noble person plans noble things; he stands up for noble causes.

9. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ വാക്കു കേള്പ്പിന് ; ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, എന്റെ വചനം ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിന് .

9. Stand up, you complacent women; listen to me. Pay attention to what I say, you overconfident daughters.

10. ചിന്തയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, ഒരാണ്ടും കുറെ നാളും കഴിയുമ്പോള് നിങ്ങള് നടുങ്ങിപ്പോകും; മുന്തിരിക്കൊയ്ത്തു നഷ്ടമാകും; ഫലശേഖരം ഉണ്ടാകയുമില്ല.

10. In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will shudder, for the vintage will fail and the harvest will not come.

11. സ്വൈരമായിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളേ, വിറെപ്പിന് ; ചിന്തിയില്ലാത്ത പെണ്ണുങ്ങളേ, നടുങ്ങുവിന് ; വസ്ത്രം ഉരിഞ്ഞു നഗ്നമാരാകുവിന് ; അരയില് രട്ടു കെട്ടുവിന് .

11. Shudder, you complacent ones; tremble, you overconfident ones! Strip yourselves bare and put [ sackcloth] about your waists.

12. മനോഹരമായ വയലുകളേയും ഫലപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയേയും ഔര്ത്തു അവര് മാറത്തു അടിക്കും.

12. Beat your breasts [in mourning] for the delightful fields and the fruitful vines,

13. എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തു ഉല്ലസിതനഗരത്തിലെ സകലസന്തോഷഭവനങ്ങളിലും മുള്ളും പറക്കാരയും മുളെക്കും.

13. for the ground of my people growing thorns and briers, indeed, for every joyous house in the joyful city.

14. അരമന ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; ജനപുഷ്ടിയുള്ള നഗരം നിര്ജ്ജനമായിത്തീരും; കുന്നും കാവല്മാളികയും സദാകാലത്തേക്കും ഗുഹകളായി ഭവിക്കും; അവ കാട്ടുകഴുതകളുടെ സന്തോഷസ്ഥാനവും ആട്ടിന് കൂട്ടങ്ങളുടെ മേച്ചല്പുറവും ആയിരിക്കും.

14. For the palace will be forsaken, the busy city abandoned. The hill and the watchtower will become barren places forever, the joy of wild asses, and a pasture for flocks,

15. ഉയരത്തില്നിന്നു ആത്മാവിനെ നമ്മുടെമേല് പകരുവോളം തന്നേ; അപ്പോള് മരുഭൂമി ഉദ്യാനമായിത്തീരും; ഉദ്യാനം വനമായി എണ്ണപ്പെടും.

15. until the Spirit from heaven is poured out on us. Then the desert will become an orchard, and the orchard will seem like a forest.

16. അന്നു മരുഭൂമിയില് ന്യായം വസിക്കും; ഉദ്യാനത്തില് നീതി പാര്ക്കും.

16. Then justice will inhabit the wilderness, and righteousness will dwell in the orchard.

17. നീതിയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി സമാധാനവും നീതിയുടെ ഫലം ശാശ്വതവിശ്രാമവും നിര്ഭയതയും ആയിരിക്കും.

17. The result of righteousness will be peace; the effect of righteousness will be quiet confidence forever.

18. എന്റെ ജനം സമാധാനനിവാസത്തിലും നിര്ഭയവസതികളിലും സ്വൈരമുള്ള വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും പാര്ക്കും.

18. Then my people will dwell in a peaceful place, and in safe and restful dwellings.

19. എന്നാല് വനത്തിന്റെ വീഴ്ചെക്കു കന്മഴ പെയ്കയും നഗരം അശേഷം നിലംപരിചാകയും ചെയ്യും.

19. But hail will level the forest, and the city will sink into the depths.

20. വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികത്തെല്ലാം വിതെക്കയും കാളയെയും കഴുതയെയും അഴിച്ചുവിടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭാഗ്യം!

20. Happy are you who sow seed beside abundant waters, who let ox and donkey range freely.
