1. യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുഞാന് നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞതിന്റെ ഉപേക്ഷണപത്രം എവിടെ? അല്ല, എന്റെ കടക്കാരില് ആര്ക്കാകുന്നു ഞാന് നിങ്ങളെ വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞതു! നിങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യങ്ങളാല് നിങ്ങള് നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞും നിങ്ങളുടെ ലംഘനങ്ങളാല് നിങ്ങളുടെ അമ്മ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

1. Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorce, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors [is it] to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities ye are sold, and for your rebellions was your mother put away,

2. for I came, and no one showed himself; I called, and no one answered. Is my hand shortened at all, that it cannot redeem? or have I no power to deliver? behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea, I make the rivers a wilderness: their fish stink because [there is] no water and die for thirst.

3. I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering.

4. തളര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്നവനെ വാക്കുകൊണ്ടു താങ്ങുവാന് അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു എനിക്കു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ നാവു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന് രാവിലെതോറും ഉണര്ത്തുന്നു; ശിഷ്യന്മാരെപ്പോലെ കേള്ക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന് എന്റെ ചെവി ഉണര്ത്തുന്നു

4. The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the wise that I should know how to speak a word in season to [him that is] weary; he wakes up early, early shall he awaken [my] ear, that I might hear, as the wise.

5. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു എന്റെ ചെവി തുറന്നു; ഞാനോ മറുത്തുനിന്നില്ല; പിന് തിരിഞ്ഞതുമില്ല.

5. The Lord GOD has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back.

6. അടിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും, ഞാന് എന്റെ മുതുകും രോമം പറിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും, എന്റെ കവിളും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു; എന്റെ മുഖം നിന്ദെക്കും തുപ്പലിന്നും മറെച്ചിട്ടുമില്ല.

6. I gave my back to the smiters and my cheeks to those that plucked off the hair: I did not hide my face from shame and spitting.

7. യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ സഹായിക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് അമ്പരന്നുപോകയില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാന് എന്റെ മുഖം തീക്കല്ലുപോലെ ആക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന് ലജ്ജിച്ചുപോകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാന് അറിയുന്നു.

7. For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore, I was not ashamed; therefore, I have set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.

8. He is near that justifies me; who will contend with me? let us stand together; who [is] my adversary? let him come near to me.

9. ഇതാ, യഹോവയായ കര്ത്താവു എന്നെ തുണെക്കുന്നു; എന്നെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കുന്നവന് ആര്? അവരെല്ലാവരും വസ്ത്രം പോലെ പഴകിപ്പോകും? പുഴു അവരെ തിന്നുകളയും.

9. Behold, the Lord GOD will help me; who [is] he [that] shall condemn me? behold, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up.

10. നിങ്ങളില് യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുകയും അവന്റെ ദാസന്റെ വാക്കു കേട്ടനുസരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് ആര്? തനിക്കു പ്രകാശം ഇല്ലാതെ അന്ധകാരത്തില് നടന്നാലും അവന് യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില് ആശ്രയിച്ചു തന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്മേല് ചാരിക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

10. Who [is] among you that fears the LORD? Hearken unto the voice of his servant. He who walked [in]darkness and had no light; let him trust in the name of the LORD and stay upon his God.

11. ഹാ, തീ കത്തിച്ചു തീയമ്പുകള് അരെക്കു കെട്ടുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങള് എല്ലാവരും നിങ്ങളുടെ തീയുടെ വെളിച്ചത്തിലും നിങ്ങള് കൊളുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന തീയമ്പുകളുടെ ഇടയിലും നടപ്പിന് ; എന്റെ കയ്യാല് ഇതു നിങ്ങള്ക്കു ഭവിക്കും; നിങ്ങള് വ്യസനത്തോടെ കിടക്കേണ്ടിവരും.

11. Behold, that all of you kindle fire and are compassed about with sparks; walk in the light of your fire and of the sparks [that] ye have kindled. From my hand has come this; ye shall be buried in sorrow.:
